| 11 | For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. | Car le péché, prenant occasion du commandement m'a séduit, et par lui m'a fait mourir. | Infatti il peccato, colta l'occasione per mezzo del comandamento, mi ingannò e mediante quello mi uccise. |
| 12 | Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. | Ainsi la loi est sainte, et le commandement est saint, juste et bon. | Così, la legge è certamente santa, e il comandamento santo, giusto e buono. |
| 13 | Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. | Ce qui est bon m'a-t-il donc donné la mort? Nullement! mais c'est le péché, afin qu'il parût péché, en me donnant la mort par une chose bonne et que le péché devînt excessivement pécheur par le commandement. | Ciò che è buono è dunque diventato morte per me? | 14 | For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. | En effet, nous savons que la loi est spirituelle; mais moi je suis charnel, vendu au péché. | Infatti noi sappiamo che la legge è spirituale, ma io sono carnale, venduto come schiavo al peccato. |

| 20 | Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. | Que si je fais ce que je ne veux pas, ce n'est plus moi qui le fais, mais c'est le péché qui habite en moi. | Ora, se faccio ciò che non voglio, non sono più io che lo faccio, ma è il peccato che abita in me. |
