| 4 | Ou méprises-tu les richesses de sa bonté, de sa patience et de sa longanimité ? Et ne sais-tu pas que la bonté de Dieu t'invite à la pénitence ? | Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? |
| 5 | Par ton endurcissement et ton coeur impénitent, tu t'amasses un trésor de colère pour le jour de la colère et de la manifestation du juste jugement de Dieu, | but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; |
| 6 | qui rendra à chacun selon ses oeuvres : | who will render to every man according to his works: |
| 7 | la vie éternelle à ceux qui, par leur persévérance dans le bien, cherchent la gloire, l'honneur et l'immortalité; | to them that by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life: |

| 20 | le docteur des ignorants, le maître des enfants, ayant dans la Loi la règle de la science et de la vérité : | a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth; |

| 25 | La circoncision est utile, il est vrai, si tu observes la Loi; mais si tu transgresses la Loi, tu n'es pas plus, avec ta circoncision, qu'un incirconcis. | For circumcision indeed profiteth, if thou be a doer of the law: but if thou be a transgressor of the law, thy circumcision is become uncircumcision. |
| 26 | Si donc l'incirconcis observe les préceptes de la Loi, son incirconcision ne sera-t-elle pas réputée circoncision ? | If therefore the uncircumcision keep the ordinances of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be reckoned for circumcision? |
| 27 | Bien plus, l'homme incirconcis de naissance, s'il observe la Loi, te jugera, toi qui, avec la lettre de la Loi et la circoncision, transgresses la Loi. | and shall not the uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who with the letter and circumcision art a transgressor of the law? |
| 28 | Le vrai Juif, ce n'est pas celui qui l'est au dehors, et la vraie circoncision, ce n'est pas celle qui paraît dans la chair. | For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh: |
| 29 | Mais le Juif, c'est celui qui l'est intérieurement, et la circoncision, c'est celle du coeur, dans l'esprit, et non dans la lettre : ce Juif aura sa louange, non des hommes, mais de Dieu. | but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. |
