| 3 | For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. | Poiché portavo invidia ai vanagloriosi, vedendo la prosperità dei malvagi. |
| 4 | For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. | Perché non vi sono dolori nella loro morte, e il loro corpo è pingue. |

| 12 | Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches. | Ecco, costoro sono empi, eppure essi sono sempre tranquilli ed accrescono le loro ricchezze. |
| 13 | Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency. | Invano dunque ho purificato il mio cuore e ho lavato le mie mani nell'innocenza. |
| 14 | For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning. | Poiché sono colpito tutto il giorno e castigato ogni mattina. |

| 20 | As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image. | Come un sogno al risveglio, così tu, o Signore, quando ti risveglierai, disprezzerai la loro vana apparenza. |
| 21 | Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins. | Quando il mio cuore era inacerbito e mi sentivo trafitto internamente |
| 22 | So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee. | io ero insensato e senza intendimento; davanti a te ero come una bestia. |

| 25 | Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. | Chi ho io in cielo fuor di te? E sulla terra io non desidero altri che te. |
| 26 | My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. | La mia carne e il mio cuore possono venir meno, ma DIO è la rocca del mio cuore e la mia parte in eterno. |
| 27 | For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. | Poiché ecco, quelli che si allontanano da te periranno; tu distruggi tutti quelli che, fornicando, si allontanano da te. |
