| 3 | Confie-toi en l'Éternel et pratique le bien; habite le pays, et repais-toi de fidélité, et fais tes délices de l'Éternel: | Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. | Confida nell'Eterno e fa' il bene, abita il paese e coltiva la fedeltà. |

| 5 | Remets ta voie sur l'Éternel, et confie-toi en lui; | Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. | Rimetti la tua sorte nell'Eterno, confida in lui, ed egli opererà. |
| 6 | et lui, il agira, et il produira ta justice comme la lumière, et ton droit comme le plein midi. | And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. | Egli farà risplendere la tua giustizia come la luce e la tua rettitudine come il mezzodì. |
| 7 | Demeure tranquille, appuyé sur l'Éternel, et attends-toi à lui. Ne t'irrite pas à cause de celui qui prospère dans son chemin, à cause de l'homme qui vient à bout de ses desseins. | Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. | Sta' in silenzio davanti all'Eterno e aspettalo; non affliggerti per colui che prospera nelle sue imprese, per l'uomo che segue i suoi malvagi disegni. |
| 8 | Laisse la colère et abandonne le courroux; ne t'irrite pas, au moins pour faire le mal: | Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. | Cessa dall'ira e lascia lo sdegno; non affliggerti; ciò porterebbe anche te a far del male. |
| 9 | car ceux qui font le mal seront retranchés, et ceux qui s'attendent à l'Éternel, ceux-la posséderont le pays. | For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. | Poiché i malvagi saranno sterminati, ma coloro che sperano nell'Eterno possederanno la terra. |
| 10 | Encore un peu de temps, et le méchant ne sera plus; et tu considéreras son lieu, et il n'y sera plus; | For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. | Ancora un po' e l'empio non sarà più; sì, tu cercherai attentamente il suo posto, e non ci sarà più. |
| 11 | et les débonnaires posséderont le pays, et feront leurs délices d'une abondance de paix. | But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. | Ma i mansueti possederanno la terra e godranno di una grande pace. |
| 12 | Le méchant complote contre le juste, et grince les dents contre lui: | The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. | L'empio congiura contro il giusto e digrigna i denti contro di lui. |
| 13 | Le Seigneur se rira de lui, car il voit que son jour vient. | The LORD shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. | Il Signore ride di lui, perché vede arrivare il suo giorno. |
| 14 | Les méchants ont tiré l'épée et ont bandé leur arc, pour faire tomber l'affligé et le pauvre, pour égorger ceux qui marchent dans la droiture: | The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation. | Gli empi hanno tratto la spada e hanno teso il loro arco per abbattere il misero e il bisognoso, per uccidere quelli che camminano rettamente. |
| 15 | leur épée entrera dans leur coeur, et leurs arcs seront brisés. | Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. | La loro spada penetrerà nel loro cuore e i loro archi saranno spezzati. |
| 16 | Mieux vaut le peu du juste que l'abondance de beaucoup de méchants; | A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. | Vale più il poco del giusto che l'abbondanza di molti empi. |
| 17 | car les bras des méchants seront brisés, mais l'Éternel soutient les justes. | For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous. | Poiché le braccia degli empi saranno spezzate, ma l'Eterno sostiene i giusti. |
| 18 | L'Éternel connaît les jours de ceux qui sont intègres, et leur héritage sera pour toujours: | The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. | L'Eterno conosce i giorni degli uomini integri, e la loro eredità durerà in eterno. |
| 19 | ils ne seront pas confus au mauvais temps, et ils seront rassasiés aux jours de la famine. | They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. | Essi non saranno confusi nel tempo dell'avversità e nei giorni di carestia saranno saziati. |
| 20 | Car les méchants périront, et les ennemis de l'Éternel comme la graisse des agneaux; ils s'en iront, comme la fumée ils s'en iront. | But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. | Ma gli empi periranno, e i nemici dell'Eterno saranno consumati e andranno in fumo come grasso di agnelli. |
| 21 | Le méchant emprunte, et ne rend pas; mais le juste use de grâce, et donne: | The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. | L'empio prende in prestito e non restituisce, ma il giusto ha pietà e dona. |
| 22 | car ceux qui sont bénis de lui posséderont le pays; mais ceux qui sont maudits de lui seront retranchés. | For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off. | Poiché i benedetti dal Signore erediteranno la terra, ma i maledetti da lui saranno sterminati. |
| 23 | Par l'Éternel les pas de l'homme sont affermis, et il prend plaisir à sa voie: | The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. | I passi dell'uomo sono guidati dall'Eterno, quando egli gradisce le sue vie. |
| 24 | s'il tombe, il ne sera pas entièrement abattu; car l'Éternel lui soutient la main. | Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. | Se cade, non è però atterrato, perché l'Eterno lo sostiene per la mano. |
| 25 | J'ai été jeune, et je suis vieux, et je n'ai pas vu le juste abandonné, ni sa semence cherchant du pain: | I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. | sono stato fanciullo ed ora sono divenuto vecchio, ma non ho mai visto il giusto abbandonato, né la sua progenie mendicare il pane. |
| 26 | il use de grâce tout le jour, et il prête; et sa semence sera en bénédiction. | He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. | Egli ha pietà e presta sempre, e la sua progenie è in benedizione. |
| 27 | Retire-toi du mal, et fais le bien, et demeure pour toujours; | Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. | Allontanati dal male e fa' il bene e avrai una dimora in eterno. |
| 28 | car l'Éternel aime la droiture, et il n'abandonnera pas ses saints: ils seront gardés à toujours, mais la semence des méchants sera retranchée. | For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. | Poiché l'Eterno ama la giustizia e non abbandonerà i suoi santi; essi saranno salvaguardati in eterno, ma la progenie degli empi sarà sterminata. |

| 32 | Le méchant épie le juste, et cherche à le faire mourir: | The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him. | L'empio spia il giusto e cerca di ucciderlo. |

| 34 | Attends-toi à l'Éternel, et garde sa voie; et il t'élèvera afin que tu possèdes le pays: quand les méchants seront retranchés, tu le verras. | Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it. | Spera fermamente nell'Eterno e segui la sua via, ed egli t'innalzerà affinché tu erediti la terra, quando gli empi saranno sterminati, tu lo vedrai. |
| 35 | J'ai vu le méchant puissant, et s'étendant comme un arbre vert croissant dans son lieu natal; | I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. | Ho visto l'uomo potente e violento prosperare come un albero verdeggiante sul suo suolo natìo, |
| 36 | mais il passa, et voici, il n'était plus; et je l'ai cherché, et il ne s'est plus trouvé. | Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found. | ma poi è scomparso, ed ecco, non è più; ho cercato, ma non si è più trovato. |
| 37 | Prends garde à l'homme intègre, et regarde l'homme droit, car la fin d'un tel homme est la paix; | Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. | Sta' attento all'uomo integro e osserva l'uomo retto, perché il futuro di tale uomo sarà pace. |
| 38 | mais les transgresseurs seront détruits ensemble; la fin des méchants, c'est d'être retranché; | But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off. | Ma i trasgressori saranno tutti quanti distrutti; alla fine gli empi saranno stroncati. |
| 39 | Mais le salut des justes vient de l'Éternel; il est leur force au temps de la détresse, et l'Éternel leur aidera et les délivrera; | But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble. | Ma la salvezza, dei giusti viene dall'Eterno; egli è la loro roccaforte nel tempo della sventura. |
| 40 | il les délivrera des méchants et les sauvera, car ils se sont confiés en lui. | And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him. | E l'Eterno li aiuta e li libera, li libera dagli empi e li salva, perché si sono rifugiati in lui. |
