2Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.Keep my commandments and live; And my law as the apple of thine eye.Custodisci i miei comandamenti e vivrai, custodisci il mio insegnamento come la pupilla dei tuoi occhi.
3Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.Bind them upon thy fingers; Write them upon the tablet of thy heart.Legateli alle dita, scrivili sulla tavola del tuo cuore.
4Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; And call understanding [thy] kinswoman:Di' alla sapienza: Tu sei mia sorella, e chiama amico l'intendimento

9In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:In the twilight, in the evening of the day, In the middle of the night and in the darkness.al crepuscolo, sul declinare del giorno, mentre scendeva la notte nera ed oscura.
10And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.And, behold, there met him a woman With the attire of a harlot, and wily of heart.Ecco farglisi incontro una donna in vesti da prostituta e astuta di cuore;
11(She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:She is clamorous and wilful; Her feet abide not in her house:ella è turbolenta e provocante, e non sa tenere i piedi in casa sua;
12Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)Now she is in the streets, now in the broad places, And lieth in wait at every corner.ora sulla strada, ora per le piazze sta in agguato ad ogni angolo.
13So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,So she caught him, and kissed him, [And] with an impudent face she said unto him:Così essa lo prese e lo baciò, poi sfacciatamente gli disse:
14I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.Sacrifices of peace-offerings are with me; This day have I paid my vows.Dovevo fare sacrifici di ringraziamento; proprio oggi ho adempiuto i miei voti;
15Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.Therefore came I forth to meet thee, Diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.per questo sono uscita incontro a te per cercarti, e ti ho trovato.
16I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, With striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.Ho adornato il mio letto con coperte di arazzo, con lino colorato d'Egitto
17I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.I have perfumed my bed With myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.ho profumato il mio letto di mirra, di aloe e di cinnamomo.

19For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:For the man is not at home; He is gone a long journey:perché mio marito non è in casa, ma è partito per un lungo viaggio;
20He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.He hath taken a bag of money with him; He will come home at the full moon.ha preso con sé un sacchetto di denaro e tornerà a casa soltanto al plenilunio.
21With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.With her much fair speech she causeth him to yield; With the flattering of her lips she forceth him along.Ella lo sedusse con parole persuasive, lo trascinò con la dolcezza delle sue labbra.
22He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;He goeth after her straightway, As an ox goeth to the slaughter, Or as [one in] fetters to the correction of the fool;Egli la seguì senza indugio, come un bue va al macello, come un incatenato alla punizione dello stolto,
23Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.Till an arrow strike through his liver; As a bird hasteth to the snare, And knoweth not that it is for his life.finché una freccia non gli trafigge il fegato; come un uccello si affretta, senza sapere che un laccio è teso contro la sua vita.
24Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.Now therefore, [my] sons, hearken unto me, And attend to the words of my mouth.Or dunque, figli miei, ascoltatemi, fate attenzione alle parole della mia bocca.
25Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.Let not thy heart decline to her ways; Go not astray in her paths.Il tuo cuore non si volga dietro le sue vie, non sviarti per i suoi sentieri;
26For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.For she hath cast down many wounded: Yea, all her slain are a mighty host.perché ne ha fatti cadere molti feriti a morte, e tutti quelli da lei uccisi erano uomini forti.
27Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.Her house is the way to Sheol, Going down to the chambers of death.La sua casa è la via dello Sceol, che scende ai penetrali della morte.
