| 3 | Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: | Benignità e verità non ti abbandonino; legale intorno al tuo collo, scrivile sulla tavola del tuo cuore. |
| 4 | So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. | troverai così grazia e intendimento agli occhi di DIO e degli uomini. |
| 5 | Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. | Confida nell'Eterno con tutto il tuo cuore e non appoggiarti sul tuo intendimento; |
| 6 | In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. | riconoscilo in tutte le tue vie, ed egli raddrizzerà i tuoi sentieri. |
| 7 | Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. | Non ritenerti savio ai tuoi occhi, temi l'Eterno e ritirati dal male; |
| 8 | It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. | questo sarà guarigione per i tuoi nervi e un refrigerio per le tue ossa. |
| 9 | Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: | Onora l'Eterno con i tuoi beni e con le primizie di ogni tua rendita; |
| 10 | So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. | i tuoi granai saranno strapieni e i tuoi tini traboccheranno di mosto. |
| 11 | My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: | Figlio mio, non disprezzare la punizione dell'Eterno e non detestare la sua correzione |
| 12 | For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. | perché l'Eterno corregge colui che egli ama, come un padre il figlio che gradisce. |
| 13 | Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. | Beato l'uomo che ha trovato la sapienza e l'uomo che ottiene l'intendimento. |
| 14 | For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. | Poiché il suo guadagno è migliore del guadagno dell'argento e il suo frutto vale più dell'oro fino. |

| 20 | By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. | Per la sua conoscenza gli abissi furono aperti e le nubi stillano rugiada. |
| 21 | My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: | Figlio mio, queste cose non si allontanino mai dai tuoi occhi. Ritieni la sapienza e la riflessione. |
| 22 | So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. | Esse saranno vita per l'anima tua e un ornamento al tuo collo. |
| 23 | Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. | Allora camminerai sicuro per la tua via e il tuo piede non inciamperà. |
| 24 | When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. | Quando ti coricherai non avrai paura; sì, ti coricherai e il sonno tuo sarà dolce. |
| 25 | Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. | Non temerai lo spavento improvviso né la rovina degli empi quando verrà, |
| 26 | For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. | perché l'Eterno sarà al tuo fianco e impedirà che il tuo piede sia preso in alcun laccio. |
| 27 | Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. | Non rifiutare il bene a chi è dovuto quando è in tuo potere il farlo. |
| 28 | Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee. | Non dire al tuo prossimo: Va' e ritorna; te lo darò domani, quando hai la cosa con te. |
| 29 | Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. | Non macchinare alcun male contro il tuo prossimo, mentre abita fiducioso con te. |
| 30 | Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm. | Non intentare causa contro nessuno senza motivo, se non ti ha fatto alcun male. |
| 31 | Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. | Non portare invidia all'uomo violento e non scegliere alcuna delle sue vie, |
| 32 | For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous. | perché l'Eterno ha in abominio l'uomo perverso, ma il suo consiglio è per gli uomini retti. |
| 33 | The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. | La maledizione dell'Eterno è nella casa dell'empio, ma egli benedice la dimora dei giusti. |
| 34 | Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. | Certamente egli schernisce gli schernitori, ma fa grazia agli umili |
| 35 | The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools. | I saggi erediteranno la gloria, ma l'ignominia sarà il retaggio degli stolti. |
