He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.L'homme qui étant repris roidit son cou, sera subitement brisé, sans qu'il y ait de guérison. He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck Shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. When the righteous are increased, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man beareth rule, the people sigh.
Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.L'homme qui aime la sagesse, réjouit son père; mais celui qui entretient les femmes débauchées, dissipe ses richesses.Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father; But he that keepeth company with harlots wasteth [his] substance.
The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.Le Roi maintient le pays par le jugement; mais l'homme qui est adonné aux présents, le ruinera. The king by justice establisheth the land; But he that exacteth gifts overthroweth it.
A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.L'homme qui flatte son prochain, étend le filet devant ses pas.A man that flattereth his neighbor Spreadeth a net for his steps.
In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice. In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare; But the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.Le juste prend connaissance de la cause des pauvres; mais le méchant n'en prend point connaissance. The righteous taketh knowledge of the cause of the poor; The wicked hath not understanding to know [it].
Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath. Scoffers set a city in a flame; But wise men turn away wrath.
If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.L'homme sage contestant avec l'homme fou, soit qu'il s'émeuve, soit qu'il rie, n'aura point de repos. If a wise man hath a controversy with a foolish man, Whether he be angry or laugh, there will be no rest.
The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul. The bloodthirsty hate him that is perfect; And as for the upright, they seek his life.
A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. A fool uttereth all his anger; But a wise man keepeth it back and stilleth it.
If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked. If a ruler hearkeneth to falsehood, All his servants are wicked.
The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes. The poor man and the oppressor meet together; Jehovah lighteneth the eyes of them both.
The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever. The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, His throne shall be established for ever.
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. The rod and reproof give wisdom; But a child left to himself causeth shame to his mother.
When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall. When the wicked are increased, transgression increaseth; But the righteous shall look upon their fall.
Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. Correct thy son, and he will give thee rest; Yea, he will give delight unto thy soul.
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.Lorsqu'il n'y a point de vision, le peuple est abandonné; mais bienheureux est celui qui garde la Loi.Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint; But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer. A servant will not be corrected by words; For though he understand, he will not give heed.
Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him. Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? There is more hope of a fool than of him.
He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length. He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child Shall have him become a son at the last.
An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.L'homme colère excite les querelles, et l'homme furieux commet plusieurs forfaits. An angry man stirreth up strife, And a wrathful man aboundeth in transgression.
A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.L'orgueil de l'homme l'abaisse, mais celui qui est humble d'esprit obtient la gloire.A man`s pride shall bring him low; But he that is of a lowly spirit shall obtain honor.
Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not. Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul; He heareth the adjuration and uttereth nothing.
The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.L'effroi que conçoit un homme, lui tend un piège; mais celui qui s'assure en l'Eternel aura une haute retraite. The fear of man bringeth a snare; But whoso putteth his trust in Jehovah shall be safe.
Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from the LORD.Plusieurs recherchent la face de celui qui domine; mais c'est de l'Eternel que vient le jugement qu'on donne touchant quelqu'un.Many seek the ruler`s favor; But a man`s judgment [cometh] from Jehovah.
An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.L'homme inique est en abomination aux justes; et celui qui va droit, est en abomination au méchant. An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous; And he that is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.
