| 4 | Les yeux élevés et le coeur enflé sont la lampe des méchants; ce n'est que péché. | A high look, and a proud heart, [Even] the lamp of the wicked, is sin. | Gli occhi alteri e un cuore superbo, che sono la lampada degli empi, sono peccato. |
| 5 | Les projets de celui qui est diligent, produisent l'abondance; mais tout homme étourdi tombe dans la pauvreté. | The thoughts of the diligent [tend] only to plenteousness; But every one that is hasty [hasteth] only to want. | I disegni dell'uomo solerte conducono certamente all'abbondanza, ma chi è frettoloso cadrà certamente nell'indigenza. |

| 11 | Quand on punit le moqueur, le simple en devient sage, et quand on instruit le sage, il acquiert la science. | When the scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise; And when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge. | Quando lo schernitore è punito, il semplice diventa saggio; ma quando viene istruito il saggio, egli acquista conoscenza. |
| 12 | Le juste considère la maison du méchant, lorsque les méchants sont renversés dans le malheur. | The righteous man considereth the house of the wicked, [How] the wicked are overthrown to [their] ruin. | Il giusto osserva attentamente la casa dell'empio e rovescia gli empi per la loro malvagità. |

| 15 | C'est une joie pour le juste de faire ce qui est droit; mais c'est l'effroi des ouvriers d'iniquité. | It is joy to the righteous to do justice; But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity. | Fare ciò che è retto è una gioia per il giusto, ma è una rovina per gli operatori d'iniquità. |
| 16 | L'homme qui s'écarte du chemin de la prudence, aura sa demeure dans l'assemblée des morts. | The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding Shall rest in the assembly of the dead. | L'uomo che si allontana dalla via della prudenza, abiterà nell'assemblea dei morti. |
| 17 | L'homme qui aime la joie, sera indigent, et celui qui aime le vin et la graisse, ne s'enrichira point. | He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich. | Chi ama il piacere sarà nell'indigenza, chi ama il vino e l'olio non arricchirà. |
| 18 | Le méchant sera la rançon du juste, et le trompeur celle des hommes droits. | The wicked is a ransom for the righteous; And the treacherous [cometh] in the stead of the upright. | L'empio servirà di riscatto al giusto; e il perfido al posto degli uomini retti. |
| 19 | Mieux vaut habiter dans une terre déserte, qu'avec une femme querelleuse et chagrine. | It is better to dwell in a desert land, Than with a contentious and fretful woman. | E' meglio abitare in un deserto, che con una donna litigiosa e irritante. |
| 20 | Les trésors précieux et l'huile sont dans la demeure du sage; mais l'homme insensé les engloutit. | There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; But a foolish man swalloweth it up. | Nella casa del saggio c'è un tesoro prezioso e olio, ma l'uomo stolto sperpera tutto questo. |
| 21 | Celui qui recherche la justice et la miséricorde, trouvera la vie, la justice et la gloire. | He that followeth after righteousness and kindness Findeth life, righteousness, and honor. | Chi persegue giustizia e misericordia troverà vita, giustizia e gloria. |
| 22 | Le sage entre dans la ville des hommes forts, et il abat la force qui en était la confiance. | A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, And bringeth down the strength of the confidence thereof. | Il saggio dà la scalata alla città dei forti e abbatte la forza in cui confidava. |

| 24 | On appelle moqueur un superbe arrogant, qui agit avec colère et fierté. | The proud and haughty man, scoffer is his name; He worketh in the arrogance of pride. | Il nome del superbo insolente è; "Schernitore" egli fa ogni cosa con superbia smisurata. |
| 25 | Le souhait du paresseux le tue, parce que ses mains refusent de travailler. | The desire of the sluggard killeth him; For his hands refuse to labor. | I desideri del pigro lo uccidono, perché le sue mani rifiutano di lavorare. |
| 26 | Il ne fait que souhaiter tout le jour; mais le juste donne, et n'épargne rien. | There is that coveteth greedily all the day long; But the righteous giveth and withholdeth not. | Egli desidera ardentemente tutto il giorno, ma il giusto dona senza mai rifiutare. |
| 27 | Le sacrifice des méchants est une abomination; combien plus s'ils l'apportent dans un mauvais dessein! | The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination: How much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind! | Il sacrificio dell'empio è cosa abominevole, tanto più se lo offre con intento malvagio. |

| 31 | Le cheval est équipé pour le jour de la bataille; mais la délivrance vient de l'Éternel. | The horse is prepared against the day of battle; But victory is of Jehovah. | Il cavallo è pronto per il giorno della battaglia, ma la vittoria appartiene all'Eterno. |
