| 4 | Jehovah hath made everything for its own end; Yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. | L'Eterno ha fatto ogni cosa per se stesso, anche l'empio per il giorno della sventura. |
| 5 | Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to Jehovah: [Though] hand [join] in hand, he shall not be unpunished. | Chiunque è superbo di cuore è un abominio per l'Eterno; anche se stringe la mano ad un altro per un'alleanza, non rimarrà impunito. |
| 6 | By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for; And by the fear of Jehovah men depart from evil. | Con la bontà e la verità l'iniquità si espia, e con il timore dell'Eterno uno si allontana dal male. |
| 7 | When a man`s ways please Jehovah, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. | Quando l'Eterno gradisce le vie di un uomo, fa essere in pace con lui anche i suoi nemici. |
| 8 | Better is a little, with righteousness, Than great revenues with injustice. | E' meglio poco con giustizia, che grandi rendite senza equità. |
| 9 | A man`s heart deviseth his way; But Jehovah directeth his steps. | Il cuore dell'uomo programma la sua via, ma l'Eterno dirige i suoi passi. |
| 10 | A divine sentence is in the lips of the king; His mouth shall not transgress in judgment. | Sulle labbra del re sta una sentenza divina; nel giudizio la sua bocca non deve sbagliare. |
| 11 | A just balance and scales are Jehovah`s; All the weights of the bag are his work. | La stadera e le bilance giuste sono dell'Eterno, tutti i pesi del sacchetto sono opera sua. |
| 12 | It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness; For the throne is established by righteousness. | E' un abominio per i re fare il male, perché il trono è reso stabile con la giustizia. |
| 13 | Righteous lips are the delight of kings; And they love him that speaketh right. | Le labbra giuste sono gradite ai re; essi amano chi parla rettamente. |
| 14 | The wrath of a king is [as] messengers of death; But a wise man will pacify it. | L'ira del re è come messaggeri di morte, ma l'uomo saggio la placherà. |
| 15 | In the light of the king`s countenance is life; And his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain. | Nella luce del volto del re c'è vita, e il suo favore è come nube dell'ultima pioggia. |
| 16 | How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! Yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver. | Quanto è meglio acquistare sapienza che oro, e acquistare intendimento è preferibile all'argento. |
| 17 | The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: He that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. | La strada maestra degli uomini retti è evitare il male; chi vuol custodire la sua anima sorveglia la sua via. |
| 18 | Pride [goeth] before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. | Prima della rovina viene l'orgoglio, e prima della caduta lo spirito altero. |
| 19 | Better it is to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, Than to divide the spoil with the proud. | Meglio essere umile di spirito con i miseri, che spartire la preda con i superbi. |
| 20 | He that giveth heed unto the word shall find good; And whoso trusteth in Jehovah, happy is he. | Chi presta attenzione alla Parola troverà il bene, e chi confida nell'Eterno è beato. |
| 21 | The wise in heart shall be called prudent; And the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. | Il saggio di cuore sarà chiamato prudente, e la dolcezza delle labbra aumenta il sapere. |
| 22 | Understanding is a well-spring of life unto him that hath it; But the correction of fools is [their] folly. | Il senno è una fonte di vita per chi lo possiede, ma la stoltezza è il castigo degli stolti. |
| 23 | The heart of the wise instructeth his mouth, And addeth learning to his lips. | Il cuore del saggio rende assennata la sua bocca, e aumenta il sapere delle sue labbra. |
| 24 | Pleasant words are [as] a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. | Le parole soavi sono come un favo di miele, dolcezza all'anima e medicina alle ossa. |
| 25 | There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, But the end thereof are the ways of death. | C'è una via che all'uomo sembra diritta, ma la sua fine sfocia in vie di morte. |
| 26 | The appetite of the laboring man laboreth for him; For his mouth urgeth him [thereto]. | La persona che si affatica si affatica per se stessa, perché la sua bocca lo stimola. |
| 27 | A worthless man deviseth mischief; And in his lips there is as a scorching fire. | L'uomo malvagio macchina il male e sulle sue labbra c'è come un fuoco ardente. |
| 28 | A perverse man scattereth abroad strife; And a whisperer separateth chief friends. | L'uomo perverso semina contese, e chi calunnia separa gli amici migliori. |
| 29 | A man of violence enticeth his neighbor, And leadeth him in a way that is not good. | L'uomo violento adesca il proprio compagno e lo conduce per una via non buona. |
| 30 | He that shutteth his eyes, [it is] to devise perverse things: He that compresseth his lips bringeth evil to pass. | Chi chiude gli occhi per macchinare cose perverse, si morde le labbra quando causa del male. |
| 31 | The hoary head is a crown of glory; It shall be found in the way of righteousness. | I capelli bianchi sono una corona di gloria; la si trova sulla via della giustizia. |
| 32 | He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; And he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city. | Chi è lento all'ira val più di un forte guerriero, e chi domina il suo spirito val più di chi espugna una città. |
| 33 | The lot is cast into the lap; But the whole disposing thereof is of Jehovah. | Si getta la sorte nel grembo, ma ogni decisione dipende dall'Eterno. |
