3The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.Yahweh ne laisse pas le juste souffrir de la faim, mais il repousse la convoitise du méchant.Jehovah will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish; But he thrusteth away the desire of the wicked.
4He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.Il s'appauvrit celui qui travaille d'une main paresseuse, mais la main des diligents amasse des richesses.He becometh poor that worketh with a slack hand; But the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

13In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.Sur les lèvres de l'homme intelligent se trouve la sagesse, mais la verge est pour le dos de celui qui manque de sens.In the lips of him that hath discernment wisdom is found; But a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
14Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.Les sages tiennent la sagesse en réserve, mais la bouche de l'insensé est un malheur prochain.Wise men lay up knowledge; But the mouth of the foolish is a present destruction.
15The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.La fortune est pour le riche sa place forte, le malheur des misérables, c'est leur pauvreté.The rich man`s wealth is his strong city: The destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.L'oeuvre du juste est pour la vie, le gain du méchant est pour le péché.The labor of the righteous [tendeth] to life; The increase of the wicked, to sin.
17He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.Celui qui prend garde à l'instruction prend le chemin de la vie; mais celui qui oublie la réprimande s'égare.He is in the way of life that heedeth correction; But he that forsaketh reproof erreth.
18He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.Celui qui cache la haine a des lèvres menteuses, et celui qui répand la calomnie est un insensé.He that hideth hatred is of lying lips; And he that uttereth a slander is a fool.
19In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.L'abondance de paroles ne va pas sans péché, mais celui qui retient ses lèvres est un homme prudent.In the multitude of words there wanteth not transgression; But he that refraineth his lips doeth wisely.
20The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.La langue du juste est un argent de choix; le coeur des méchants est de peu de prix.The tongue of the righteous is [as] choice silver: The heart of the wicked is little worth.
21The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.Les lèvres du juste nourrissent beaucoup d'hommes, mais les insensés meurent par défaut d'intelligence.The lips of the righteous feed many; But the foolish die for lack of understanding.
22The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.C'est la bénédiction du Seigneur qui procure la richesse, et la peine que l'on prend n'y ajoute rien.The blessing of Jehovah, it maketh rich; And he addeth no sorrow therewith.
23It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.Commettre le crime paraît un jeu à l'insensé; il en est de même de la sagesse pour l'homme intelligent.It is as sport to a fool to do wickedness; And [so is] wisdom to a man of understanding.
24The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.Ce que redoute le méchant lui arrive, et Dieu accorde au juste ce qu'il désire.The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him; And the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
25As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.Comme passe le tourbillon, le méchant disparaît; le juste est établi sur un fondement éternel.When the whirlwind passeth, the wicked is no more; But the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
26As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.Ce que le vinaigre est aux dents et la fumée aux yeux, tel est le paresseux pour ceux qui l'envoient.As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, So is the sluggard to them that send him.
27The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.La crainte de Yahweh augmente les jours, mais les années des méchants sont abrégées.The fear of Jehovah prolongeth days; But the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.L'attente des justes n'est que joie, mais l'espérance des méchants périra.The hope of the righteous [shall be] gladness; But the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.La voie de Yahweh est un rempart pour le juste, mais elle est une ruine pour ceux qui font le mal.The way of Jehovah is a stronghold to the upright; But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.
30The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.Le juste ne chancellera jamais, mais les méchants n'habiteront pas la terre.The righteous shall never be removed; But the wicked shall not dwell in the land.
31The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.La bouche du juste produit la sagesse, et la langue perverse sera arrachée.The mouth of the righteous bringeth forth wisdom; But the perverse tongue shall be cut off.
32The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.Les lèvres du juste connaissent la grâce, et la bouche des méchants la perversité.The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable; But the mouth of the wicked [speaketh] perverseness.
