| 1 | And Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded. | Poi Mosè parlò ai capi delle tribù dei figli d'Israele, dicendo: Questo è ciò che l'Eterno ha ordinato: |
| 2 | If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth. | "Quando uno fa un voto all'Eterno o contrae un'obbligazione con giuramento, non violerà la sua parola, ma farà tutto ciò che è uscito dalla sua bocca. |
| 3 | If a woman also vow a vow unto the LORD, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father's house in her youth; | Quando una donna fa un voto all'Eterno e si lega con un'obbligazione mentre è ancora in casa del padre, durante la sua giovinezza, |
| 4 | And her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her; then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand. | se il padre saputo del suo voto e dell'obbligazione a cui si è legata, non dice nulla in merito, tutti i suoi voti rimarranno validi e rimarranno valide tutte le obbligazioni a cui si è legata. |
| 5 | But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand: and the LORD shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her. | Ma se il padre, il giorno che viene a saperlo, le si oppone, tutti i suoi voti e tutte le obbligazioni a cui si è legata, non saranno validi; e l'Eterno la perdonerà, perché il padre le si è opposto. |
| 6 | And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul; | Se dovesse invece maritarsi mentre è legata dai voti o da una obbligazione contratta sconsideratamente con le proprie labbra, |
| 7 | And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand. | se il marito lo sa e il giorno che viene a saperlo non dice nulla in merito, i suoi voti rimarranno validi e rimarranno valide le obbligazioni a cui si è legata. |
| 8 | But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and the LORD shall forgive her. | Ma se il marito, il giorno che viene a saperlo le si oppone, egli annullerà il voto che ella ha fatto e l'obbligazione contratta sconsideratamente con le proprie labbra; e l'Eterno la perdonerà. |
| 9 | But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her. | Ma il voto di una vedova o di una donna ripudiata, qualunque sia l'obbligazione a cui si è legata, rimarrà valido. |
| 10 | And if she vowed in her husband's house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath; | Se ella fa un voto nella casa di suo marito, o ha contratto un'obbligazione con giuramento, |
| 11 | And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and disallowed her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she bound her soul shall stand. | e il marito lo ha saputo, se il marito non dice nulla in merito e non le si oppone, tutti i suoi voti rimarranno validi e rimarranno valide tutte le obbligazioni a cui si è legata. |
| 12 | But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and the LORD shall forgive her. | Ma se il marito, il giorno che viene a saperlo li annulla, tutto ciò che è uscito dalle labbra, siano voti obbligazioni a cui si è legata, non sarà valido il marito li ha annullati; e l'Eterno la perdonerà. |
| 13 | Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void. | Il marito può confermare e il marito può annullare qualunque voto e qualunque giuramento vincolante, che mira a mortificare la sua persona. |
| 14 | But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them. | Ma se il marito, giorno dopo giorno, non dice nulla in merito, egli conferma in questo modo tutti i suoi voti e tutte le obbligazioni a cui si è legata; li conferma, perché non ha detto nulla in merito il giorno che è venuto a saperlo. |
| 15 | But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity. | Ma se li annulla dopo averlo saputo, porterà il peso del peccato della moglie". |
| 16 | These are the statutes, which the LORD commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father's house. | Questi sono gli statuti che l'Eterno prescrisse a Mosè, in merito alle relazioni tra marito e moglie, e tra padre e figlia, mentre ella è ancora fanciulla in casa di suo padre. |
