| 3 | Ce sont là les noms des enfants d'Aaron Sacrificateurs, qui furent oints et consacrés pour exercer la Sacrificature. | These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests that were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest`s office. |
| 4 | Mais Nadab et Abihu moururent en la présence de l'Eternel, quand ils offrirent un feu étranger devant l'Eternel au désert de Sinaï, et ils n'eurent point d'enfants; mais Eléazar et Ithamar exercèrent la Sacrificature en la présence d'Aaron leur père. | And Nadab and Abihu died before Jehovah, when they offered strange fire before Jehovah, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children; and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest`s office in the presence of Aaron their father. |
| 5 | Et l'Eternel parla à Moïse, en disant: | And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, |
| 6 | Fais approcher la Tribu de Lévi, et fais qu'elle se tienne devant Aaron Sacrificateur, afin qu'ils le servent. | Bring the tribe of Levi near, and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him. |
| 7 | Et qu'ils aient la charge de ce qu'il leur ordonnera de garder, et de ce que toute l'assemblée leur ordonnera de garder, devant le Tabernacle d'assignation, en faisant le service du Tabernacle. | And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle. |
| 8 | Et qu'ils gardent tous les ustensiles du Tabernacle d'assignation, et ce qui leur sera donné en charge par les enfants d'Israël, pour faire le service du Tabernacle. | And they shall keep all the furniture of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle. |
| 9 | Ainsi tu donneras les Lévites à Aaron et à ses fils; ils lui sont absolument donnés d'entre les enfants d'Israël. | And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him on the behalf of the children of Israel. |
| 10 | Tu donneras donc la surintendance à Aaron et à ses fils, et ils exerceront leur Sacrificature. Que si quelque étranger en approche, on le fera mourir. | And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall keep their priesthood: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death. |
| 11 | Et l'Eternel parla à Moïse, en disant: | And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, |
| 12 | Voici, j'ai pris les Lévites d'entre les enfants d'Israël, au lieu de tout premier-né qui ouvre la matrice entre les enfants d'Israël; c'est pourquoi les Lévites seront à moi. | And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the first-born that openeth the womb among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine: |
| 13 | Car tout premier-né m'appartient, depuis que je frappai tout premier-né au pays d'Egypte; je me suis sanctifié tout premier-né en Israël, depuis les hommes jusqu'aux bêtes; ils seront à moi, je suis l'Eternel. | for all the first-born are mine; on the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the first-born in Israel, both man and beast; mine they shall be: I am Jehovah. |
| 14 | L'Eternel parla aussi à Moïse au désert de Sinaï, en disant: | And Jehovah spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying, |
| 15 | Dénombre les enfants de Lévi, par les maisons de leurs pères, et par leurs familles, en comptant tout mâle depuis l'âge d'un mois, et au dessus. | Number the children of Levi by their fathers` houses, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. |
| 16 | ); | And Moses numbered them according to the word of Jehovah, as he was commanded. |
| 17 | Or ce sont ici les fils de Lévi selon leurs noms: Guerson, Kéhath, et Mérari. | And these were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari. |
| 18 | Et ce sont ici les noms des fils de Guerson, selon leurs familles, Libni, et Simhi. | And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei. |
| 19 | Et les fils de Kéhath selon leurs familles, Hamram, Jitshar, Hébron et Huziel. | And the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram, and Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. |
| 20 | Et les fils de Mérari, selon leurs familles, Mahli et Musi; ce sont là les familles de Lévi, selon les maisons de leurs pères. | And the sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers` houses. |
| 21 | De Guerson est sortie la famille des Libnites, et la famille des Simhites; ce sont les familles des Guersonites; | Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimeites: these are the families of the Gershonites. |
| 22 | Desquelles ceux dont on fit le dénombrement, après le compte qui fut fait de tous les mâles depuis l'âge d'un mois et au dessus, furent au nombre de sept mille cinq cents. | Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, even those that were numbered of them were seven thousand and five hundred. |
| 23 | Les familles des Guersonites camperont derrière le Tabernacle à l'Occident. | The families of the Gershonites shall encamp behind the tabernacle westward. |
| 24 | Et Eliasaph, fils de Laël, sera le chef de la maison des pères des Guersonites. | And the prince of the fathers` house of the Gershonites shall be Eliasaph the son of Lael. |
| 25 | Et les enfants de Guerson auront en charge au Tabernacle d'assignation, la tente, le Tabernacle, sa couverture, la tapisserie de l'entrée du Tabernacle d'assignation; | And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting shall be the tabernacle, and the Tent, the covering thereof, and the screen for the door of the tent of meeting, |
| 26 | Et les courtines du parvis avec la tapisserie de l'entrée du parvis, qui servent pour le pavillon et pour l'autel, tout autour, et son cordage, pour tout son service. | and the hangings of the court, and the screen for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle, and by the altar round about, and the cords of it for all the service thereof. |
| 27 | Et de Kéhath est sortie la famille des Hamramites, la famille des Jitsharites, la famille des Hébronites, et la famille des Huziélites; ce furent là les familles des Kéhathites; | And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites. |
| 28 | Dont tous les mâles depuis l'âge d'un mois, et au dessus, furent au nombre de huit mille six cents, ayant la charge du Sanctuaire. | According to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, there were eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary. |
| 29 | Les familles des enfants de Kéhath camperont du côté du Tabernacle vers le Midi. | The families of the sons of Kohath shall encamp on the side of the tabernacle southward. |
| 30 | Et Elitsaphan, fils de Huziel, sera le chef de la maison des pères des familles des Kéhathites. | And the prince of the fathers` house of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel. |
| 31 | Et ils auront en charge l'Arche, la Table, le chandelier, les autels, et les ustensiles du Sanctuaire avec lesquels on fait le service, et la tapisserie, avec tout ce qui y sert. | And their charge shall be the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary wherewith they minister, and the screen, and all the service thereof. |
| 32 | Et le chef des chefs des Lévites sera Eléazar, fils d'Aaron Sacrificateur; qui aura la surintendance sur ceux qui auront la charge du Sanctuaire. | And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be prince of the princes of the Levites, [and have] the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary. |
| 33 | Et de Mérari est sortie la famille des Mahlites, et la famille des Musites; ce furent là les familles de Mérari; | Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites: these are the families of Merari. |
| 34 | Desquelles ceux dont on fit le dénombrement après le compte qui fut fait de tous les mâles, depuis l'âge d'un mois et au dessus, furent six mille deux cents. | And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand and two hundred. |
| 35 | Et Esuriel, fils d'Abihaïl, sera le chef de la maison des pères des familles des Mérarites; ils camperont du côté du Tabernacle vers l'Aquilon. | And the prince of the fathers` house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail: they shall encamp on the side of the tabernacle northward. |
| 36 | Et on donnera aux enfants de Mérari la charge des ais du Tabernacle, de ses barres, de ses piliers, de ses soubassements, et de tous ses ustensiles, avec tout ce qui y sera; | And the appointed charge of the sons of Merari shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the instruments thereof, and all the service thereof, |
| 37 | Et des piliers du parvis tout autour, avec leurs soubassements, leurs pieux, et leurs cordes. | and the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords. |
| 38 | Et Moïse, et Aaron, et ses fils ayant la charge du Sanctuaire, pour la garde des enfants d'Israël, camperont devant le Tabernacle d'assignation vers l'Orient. Que si quelque étranger en approche, on le fera mourir. | And those that encamp before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrising, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death. |
| 39 | Tous ceux des Lévites dont on fit le dénombrement, lesquels Moïse et Aaron comptèrent par leurs familles, suivant le commandement de l'Eternel, tous les mâles de l'âge d'un mois et au dessus, furent de vingt-deux mille. | All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of Jehovah, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand. |
| 40 | Et l'Eternel dit à Moïse: Fais le dénombrement de tous les premiers-nés mâles des enfants d'Israël, depuis l'âge d'un mois, et au dessus, et lève le compte de leurs noms. | And Jehovah said unto Moses, Number all the first-born males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names. |
| 41 | Et tu prendras pour moi, je suis l'Eternel, les Lévites, au lieu de tous les premiers-nés qui sont entre les enfants d'Israël; tu prendras aussi les bêtes des Lévites, au lieu de tous les premiers-nés des bêtes des enfants d'Israël. | And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am Jehovah) instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel: |
| 42 | Moïse donc dénombra, comme l'Eternel lui avait commandé, tous les premiers-nés qui étaient entre les enfants d'Israël. | and Moses numbered, as Jehovah commanded him, all the first-born among the children of Israel. |
| 43 | Et tous les premiers-nés des mâles, le compte des noms étant fait, depuis l'âge d'un mois et au dessus, selon qu ils furent dénombrés, furent vingt-deux mille deux cent soixante et treize. | And all the first-born males according to the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen. |
| 44 | Et l'Eternel parla à Moïse, en disant: | And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, |
| 45 | Prends les Lévites au lieu de tous les premiers-nés qui sont entre les enfants d'Israël, et les bêtes des Lévites, au lieu de leurs bêtes; et les Lévites seront à moi; je suis l'Eternel. | Take the Levites instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am Jehovah. |
| 46 | Et quant à ceux qu'il faudra racheter des premiers-nés des enfants d'Israël, qui sont deux cent soixante et treize, plus que les Lévites; | And for the redemption of the two hundred and threescore and thirteen of the first-born of the children of Israel, that are over and above [the number of] the Levites, |
| 47 | Tu prendras cinq sicles par tête, tu les prendras selon le sicle du Sanctuaire; le sicle est de vingt oboles. | thou shalt take five shekels apiece by the poll; after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them (the shekel is twenty gerahs): |
| 48 | Et tu donneras à Aaron et à ses fils l'argent de ceux qui auront été rachetés, passant le nombre des Lévites. | and thou shalt give the money, wherewith the odd number of them is redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons. |
| 49 | Moïse donc prit l'argent du rachat de ceux qui étaient de plus, outre ceux qui avaient été rachetés par l'échange des Lévites. | And Moses took the redemption-money from them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites; |
| 50 | Et il reçut l'argent des premiers-nés des enfants d'Israël, qui fut mille trois cent soixante-cinq sicles, selon le sicle du Sanctuaire. | from the first-born of the children of Israel took he the money, a thousand three hundred and threescore and five [shekels], after the shekel of the sanctuary: |
| 51 | Et Moïse donna l'argent des rachetés à Aaron, et à ses fils, selon le commandement de l'Eternel, ainsi que l'Eternel le lui avait commandé. | and Moses gave the redemption-money unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of Jehovah, as Jehovah commanded Moses. |
