| 3 | And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place. | Puis Balaam dit à Balak: Tiens-toi près de ton holocauste, et je m'en irai; peut-être que l'Éternel se présentera à moi, et je te rapporterai ce qu'il m'aura fait voir. Et il alla en un lieu découvert. | Balaam disse poi a Balak: Rimani presso il tuo olocausto e io andrò: forse l'Eterno verrà ad incontrarmi; e quel che mi mostrerà io te lo riferirò. | 4 | And God met Balaam: and he said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon every altar a bullock and a ram. | Et Dieu vint au-devant de Balaam, et Balaam lui dit: J'ai dressé les sept autels, et j'ai sacrifié un taureau et un bélier sur chaque autel. | E DIO venne incontro a Balaam, e Balaam gli disse: lo ho preparato sette altari, e ho offerto un torello e un montone su ciascun altare. |

| 7 | And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel. | Alors Balaam prononça son discours sentencieux, et dit: Balak, roi de Moab, m'a fait venir d'Aram, des montagnes d'Orient. Viens, dit-il, maudis-moi Jacob; viens, voue Israël à l'exécration. | Allora Balaam pronunciò il suo oracolo e disse: Balak, il re di Moab, mi ha fatto venire da Aram, dai monti d'Oriente: "Vieni, maledici per me Giacobbe, vieni, accusa Israele!". |
| 8 | How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied? | Comment le maudirais-je? Dieu ne l'a point maudit. Comment vouerais-je à l'exécration? | 9 | For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations. | Car je le vois du sommet des rochers, et je le contemple du haut des coteaux. Voici un peuple qui habitera à part, et ne sera point mis au nombre des nations. | Io lo vedo dalla cima delle rupi e lo contemplo dalle alture; ecco, è un popolo che dimora solo e non è annoverato fra le nazioni. |
| 10 | Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his! | Qui compterait la poussière de Jacob, et dénombrerait le quart d'Israël? Que je meure de la mort des hommes droits, et que ma fin soit semblable à la leur! | Chi può calcolare la polvere di Giacobbe o contare il quarto d'Israele? | 11 | And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether. | Alors Balak dit à Balaam: Que m'as-tu fait? | 12 | And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD hath put in my mouth? | Et il répondit, et dit: Ne dois-je pas prendre garde de dire ce que l'Éternel met dans ma bouche? | Ma egli rispose e disse: Non devo io farmi premura di dire ciò che l'Eterno mi mette in bocca?. |
| 13 | And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence. | Alors Balak lui dit: Viens donc avec moi en un autre lieu d'où tu verras ce peuple, car tu n'en voyais que l'extrémité, et tu ne le voyais pas tout entier; et de là maudis-le-moi. | Poi Balak gli disse: Deh, vieni con me in un altro luogo, da dove tu lo possa vedere, anche se ne vedrai solo l'estremità e non lo potrai vedere tutto quanto, e di là lo maledirai per me. |

| 17 | And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath the LORD spoken? | Et il vint vers lui; et voici, il se tenait près de son holocauste, et les seigneurs de Moab avec lui. Et Balak lui dit: Qu'a dit l'Éternel? | Così ritornò da lui, ed ecco che egli stava presso il suo olocausto con i principi di Moab. Balak gli disse: Che cosa ha detto l'Eterno?. |
| 18 | And he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearken unto me, thou son of Zippor: | Alors il prononça son discours sentencieux, et dit: Lève-toi, Balak, et écoute; prête-moi l'oreille, fils de Tsippor. | Allora Balaam pronunciò il suo oracolo e disse: Levati, Balak, e ascolta! | 19 | God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? | Dieu n'est point homme pour mentir, ni fils d'homme pour se repentir. Il a dit; ne le fera-t-il point? Il a parlé; ne le réalisera-t-il pas? | Dio non è un uomo, perché possa mentire, né un figlio d'uomo, perché possa pentirsi. Quando ha detto una cosa, non la farà? | 20 | Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it. | Voici, j'ai reçu l'ordre de bénir; il a béni, je ne le révoquerai point. | Ecco, ho ricevuto l'ordine di benedire; si, egli ha benedetto e io non revocherò la benedizione. |
| 21 | He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them. | Il n'a point aperçu d'iniquité en Jacob, et n'a point vu de perversité en Israël; l'Éternel son Dieu est avec lui, et l'on y entend des acclamations comme pour un roi. | Egli non ha scorto iniquità in Giacobbe e non ha visto perversità in Israele. L'Eterno, il suo DIO, è con lui, e il grido di un re è tra di loro. |
| 22 | God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn. | C'est Dieu qui les a tirés d'Égypte; il est pour eux comme la vigueur du buffle. | Dio, che lo ha fatto uscire dall'Egitto, è per lui come le corna poderose del bufalo. |
| 23 | Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought! | Car il n'y a point d'enchantement contre Jacob, ni de divination contre Israël. | 24 | Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain. | Voici un peuple qui se lèvera comme une lionne, et qui se dressera comme un lion; il ne se couchera point qu'il n'ait dévoré la proie et bu le sang des blessés. | Ecco, un popolo si leverà come una leonessa e si rizzerà come un leone; e non si accovaccerà prima di aver divorato la preda e di aver bevuto il sangue di quelli che ha ucciso. |
| 25 | And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all. | Alors Balak dit à Balaam: Ne le maudis point, mais ne le bénis pas non plus! | Allora Balak disse a Balaam: Non maledirlo affatto, ma neppure benedicilo. |
| 26 | But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do? | Et Balaam répondit et dit à Balak: Ne t'ai-je pas dit: Je ferai tout ce que l'Éternel dira? | Ma Balaam rispose e disse a Balak: Non ti ho, forse detto che io avrei fatto tutto ciò che l'Eterno avrebbe detto?. |
| 27 | And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence. | Balak dit encore à Balaam: Viens donc, je te conduirai en un autre lieu; peut-être que Dieu trouvera bon que tu me le maudisses de là. | Balak disse quindi a Balaam: Deh, vieni, io ti condurrò in un altro luogo; forse piacerà a DIO che di là tu lo maledica per me. |
