| 1 | And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, | Poi l'Eterno parlò a Mosè, dicendo: |
| 2 | Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man's name upon his rod. | Parla ai figli d'Israele e fatti dare da loro delle verghe, una per ogni casa dei loro padri, cioè dodici verghe da parte di tutti i loro principi secondo le case dei loro padri; scriverai il nome di ognuno sulla sua verga; |
| 3 | And thou shalt write Aaron's name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers. | e scriverai il nome di Aaronne sulla verga di Levi, Poiché ci sarà una verga per ogni capo delle case dei loro padri. |
| 4 | And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you. | Poi le metterai nella tenda di convegno, davanti alla testimonianza, dove io mi incontro con voi. |
| 5 | And it shall come to pass, that the man's rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you. | E avverrà che la verga dell'uomo che io scelgo, fiorirà e farò cessare davanti a me i mormorii che i figli d'Israele mormorano contro di voi. |
| 6 | And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers' houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods. | Così Mosè parlò ai figli d'Israele e tutti i loro principi gli diedero una verga ciascuno, secondo le case dei loro padri, cioè dodici verghe; e la verga di Aaronne era in mezzo alle loro verghe. |
| 7 | And Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the tabernacle of witness. | Mosè quindi mise quelle verghe davanti all'Eterno nella tenda della testimonianza. |
| 8 | And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds. | Il giorno seguente, Mosè entrò nella tenda della testimonianza; ed ecco, la verga di Aaronne per la casa di Levi era fiorita: aveva messo fuori dei germogli, aveva fatto sbocciare dei fiori e prodotto delle mandorle. |
| 9 | And Moses brought out all the rods from before the LORD unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod. | Allora Mosè portò fuori tutte le verghe dalla presenza dell'Eterno davanti a tutti i figli d'Israele; ed essi le videro e presero ciascuno la sua verga. |
| 10 | And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron's rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not. | L'Eterno disse quindi a Mosè: Riporta la verga di Aaronne davanti alla testimonianza, perché sia conservata come un segno di monito per i ribelli, affinché sia messo fine ai loro mormorii contro di me ed essi non muoiano. |
| 11 | And Moses did so: as the LORD commanded him, so did he. | Mosè fece così; fece come l'Eterno gli aveva comandato. |
| 12 | And the children of Israel spake unto Moses, saying, Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish. | I figli d'Israele parlarono quindi a Mosè, dicendo: Ecco, periamo, siamo perduti, siamo tutti perduti! |
| 13 | Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the tabernacle of the LORD shall die: shall we be consumed with dying? | Chiunque si avvicina al tabernacolo dell'Eterno, muore; dovremo perire tutti quanti?. |
