| 1 | And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married; for he had married a Cushite woman. | Miriam ed Aaronne parlarono contro a Mosè a motivo della donna etiope che aveva sposato; infatti egli aveva sposato una donna etiope. |
| 2 | And they said, Hath Jehovah indeed spoken only with Moses? hath he not spoken also with us? And Jehovah heard it. | E dissero: L'Eterno ha forse parlato solo per mezzo di Mosè? Non ha egli parlato anche per mezzo nostro?. E l'Eterno sentì. |
| 3 | Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men that were upon the face of the earth. | (Or Mosè era un uomo molto mansueto, più di chiunque altro sulla faccia della terra). |
| 4 | And Jehovah spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tent of meeting. And they three came out. | L'Eterno disse subito a Mosè, ad Aaronne e a Miriam: Voi tre uscite e andate alla tenda di convegno. Così loro tre uscirono. |
| 5 | And Jehovah came down in a pillar of cloud, and stood at the door of the Tent, and called Aaron and Miriam; and they both came forth. | Allora l'Eterno scese in una colonna di nuvola, si fermò all'ingresso della tenda e chiamò Aaronne e Miriam; ambedue si fecero avanti. |
| 6 | And he said, Hear now my words: if there be a prophet among you, I Jehovah will make myself known unto him in a vision, I will speak with him in a dream. | L'Eterno quindi disse: Ascoltate ora le mie parole! Se vi è tra di voi un profeta, io, l'Eterno, mi faccio conoscere a lui in visione, parlo con lui in sogno. |
| 7 | My servant Moses is not so; he is faithful in all my house: | Ma non così con il mio servo Mosè, che è fedele in tutta la mia casa. |
| 8 | with him will I speak mouth to mouth, even manifestly, and not in dark speeches; and the form of Jehovah shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant, against Moses? | Con lui io parlo faccia a faccia, facendomi vedere, e non con detti oscuri; ed egli contempla la sembianza dell'Eterno. Perché dunque non avete temuto di parlare contro il mio servo, contro Mosè?. |
| 9 | And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against them; and he departed. | Così l'ira dell'Eterno si accese contro di loro, poi egli se ne andò. |
| 10 | And the cloud removed from over the Tent; and, behold, Miriam was leprous, as [white as] snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous. | Quando la nuvola si fu ritirata di sopra alla tenda, ecco Miriam era lebbrosa, bianca come neve; Aaronne guardò Miriam, ed ecco era lebbrosa. |
| 11 | And Aaron said unto Moses, Oh, my lord, lay not, I pray thee, sin upon us, for that we have done foolishly, and for that we have sinned. | Aaronne disse a Mosè: Deh, signor mio, non addossare su di noi la colpa che abbiamo stoltamente commesso e il peccato che abbiamo fatto. |
| 12 | Let her not, I pray, be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother`s womb. | Deh non permettere che ella sia come uno morto, la cui carne è già mezza consumata quando esce dal grembo di sua madre!. |
| 13 | And Moses cried unto Jehovah, saying, Heal her, O God, I beseech thee. | Così Mosè grido all'Eterno, dicendo: Guariscila, o Dio, te ne prego!. |
| 14 | And Jehovah said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut up without the camp seven days, and after that she shall be brought in again. | Allora l'Eterno rispose a Mosè: Se suo padre le avesse sputato in viso, non sarebbe forse nella vergogna per sette giorni Sia dunque isolata fuori dell'accampamento sette giorni; dopo ciò sarà di nuovo ammessa. |
| 15 | And Miriam was shut up without the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again. | Miriam dunque fu isolata fuori dell'accampamento sette giorni; e il popolo non si mise in cammino finché Miriam non fu riammessa nell'accampamento. |
| 16 | And afterward the people journeyed from Hazeroth, and encamped in the wilderness of Paran. | Poi il popolo partì da Hatseroth e si accampò nel deserto di Paran. |
