| 1 | And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, | Puis l'Eternel parla à Moïse, en disant: |
| 2 | Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. | Fais-toi deux trompettes d'argent, fais-les d'ouvrage battu au marteau; et elles te serviront pour convoquer l'assemblée, et pour faire partir les compagnies. |
| 3 | And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. | Quand on en sonnera, toute l'assemblée s'assemblera vers toi à l'entrée du Tabernacle d'assignation. |
| 4 | And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee. | Et quand on sonnera d'une seule, les principaux, qui sont les chefs des milliers d'Israël, s'assembleront vers toi. |
| 5 | When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward. | Mais quand vous sonnerez avec un retentissement bruyant, les compagnies qui sont campées vers l'Orient partiront. |
| 6 | When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys. | Et quand vous sonnerez la seconde fois avec un retentissement bruyant, les compagnies qui sont campées vers le Midi partiront; on sonnera avec un retentissement bruyant, quand on voudra partir. |
| 7 | But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm. | Et quand vous convoquerez l'assemblée, vous sonnerez, mais non point avec un retentissement bruyant. |
| 8 | And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations. | Or les fils d'Aaron Sacrificateurs, sonneront des trompettes; et ceci vous sera une ordonnance perpétuelle en vos âges. |
| 9 | And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies. | Et quand vous marcherez en bataille dans votre pays contre votre ennemi, venant vous attaquer; vous sonnerez des trompettes avec un retentissement bruyant, et l'Eternel votre Dieu se souviendra de vous, et vous serez délivrés de vos ennemis. |
| 10 | Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God. | Aussi dans vos jours de joie, dans vos fêtes solennelles, et au commencement de vos mois, vous sonnerez des trompettes sur vos holocaustes, et sur vos sacrifices de prospérités, et elles vous serviront de mémorial devant votre Dieu; je suis l'Eternel, votre Dieu. |
| 11 | And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony. | Or il arriva le vingtième jour du second mois de la seconde année, que la nuée se leva de dessus le pavillon du Témoignage. |
| 12 | And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran. | Et les enfants d'Israël partirent selon leurs traittes, du désert de Sinaï, et la nuée se posa au désert de Paran. |
| 13 | And they first took their journey according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses. | Ils partirent donc pour la première fois, suivant le commandement de l'Eternel, déclaré par Moïse. |
| 14 | In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab. | Et la bannière des compagnies des enfants de Juda partit la première, selon leurs troupes; et Nahasson, fils de Hamminadab, conduisait la bande de Juda; |
| 15 | And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar. | Et Nathanaël, fils de Tsuhar, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants d'Issacar. |
| 16 | And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon. | Et Eliab, fils de Hélon, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants de Zabulon. |
| 17 | And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, bearing the tabernacle. | Et le pavillon fut désassemblé; puis les enfants de Guerson, et les enfants de Mérari, qui portaient le pavillon, partirent. |
| 18 | And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur. | Puis la bannière des compagnies de Ruben partit, selon leurs troupes; et Elitsur, fils de Sédéur, conduisait la bande de Ruben. |
| 19 | And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. | Et Sélumiel, fils de Tsurisaddaï, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants de Siméon. |
| 20 | And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel. | Et Eliasaph, fils de Déhuël, conduisait la bande des enfants de Gad. |
| 21 | And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the tabernacle against they came. | Alors les Kéhathites, qui portaient le Sanctuaire, partirent; cependant on dressait le Tabernacle, tandis que ceux-ci venaient. |
| 22 | And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud. | Puis la bannière des compagnies des enfants d'Ephraïm partit, selon leurs troupes; et Elisamah, fils de Hammihud, conduisait la bande d'Ephraïm. |
| 23 | And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur. | Et Gamaliel, fils de Pédatsur, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants de Manassé. |
| 24 | And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni. | Et Abidan, fils de Guidhoni, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants de Benjamin. |
| 25 | And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, which was the rereward of all the camps throughout their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. | Enfin la bannière des compagnies des enfants de Dan, qui faisait l'arrière-garde, partit, selon leurs troupes; et Ahihézer, fils de Hammisaddaï, conduisait la bande de Dan. |
| 26 | And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran. | Et Paghiel, fils de Hocran, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants d'Aser. |
| 27 | And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan. | Et Ahirah, fils de Hénan, conduisait la bande de la Tribu des enfants de Nephthali. |
| 28 | Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward. | Tels étaient les décampements des enfants d'Israël selon leurs troupes, quand ils partaient. |
| 29 | And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses' father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel. | Or Moïse dit à Hobab, fils de Réhuel Madianite, son beau-père: Nous allons au lieu duquel l'Eternel a dit, je vous le donnerai. Viens avec nous, et nous te ferons du bien; car l'Eternel a promis de faire du bien à Israël. |
| 30 | And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred. | Et Hobab lui répondit: Je n'y irai point, mais je m'en irai en mon pays, et vers ma parenté. |
| 31 | And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes. | Et Moïse lui dit: Je te prie, ne nous quitte point; car tu nous serviras de guide, parce que tu connais les lieux où nous aurons à camper dans le désert. |
| 32 | And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the LORD shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee. | Et il arrivera que quand tu seras venu avec nous, et que le bien que l'Eternel nous doit faire sera arrivé, nous te ferons aussi du bien. |
| 33 | And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days' journey: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days' journey, to search out a resting place for them. | Ainsi ils partirent de la montagne de l'Eternel, et ils marchèrent le chemin de trois jours; et l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel alla devant eux pendant le chemin de trois jours pour chercher un lieu où ils se reposassent. |
| 34 | And the cloud of the LORD was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp. | Et la nuée de l'Eternel était sur eux le jour, quand ils partaient du lieu où ils avaient campé. |
| 35 | And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee. | Or il arrivait qu'au départ de l'Arche, Moïse disait: Lève-toi, ô Eternel, et tes ennemis seront dispersés, et ceux qui te haïssent s'enfuiront de devant toi. |
| 36 | And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, unto the many thousands of Israel. | Et quand on la posait, il disait: Retourne, ô Eternel, aux dix mille milliers d'Israël. |
