| 6 | Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee. | Toi seul es l'Éternel! tu as fait les cieux, les cieux des cieux, et toute leur armée; la terre, et tout ce qui y est; les mers, et toutes les choses qui y sont. | 8 | And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous: | Tu trouvas son coeur fidèle devant toi, et tu traitas une alliance avec lui, pour donner à sa postérité le pays des Cananéens, des Héthiens, des Amoréens, des Phéréziens, des Jébusiens et des Guirgasiens; et tu as accompli ta parole, car tu es juste. | Tu hai trovato il suo cuore fedele davanti a te e hai stabilito un patto con lui, per dare alla sua discendenza il paese dei Cananei, degli Hittei, degli Amorei, dei Perezei, dei Gebusei e dei Ghirgasei; tu hai adempiuto la tua parola, perché sei giusto. |

| 10 | And shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a name, as it is this day. | Tu fis des prodiges et des miracles, sur Pharaon et sur tous ses serviteurs, et sur tout le peuple de son pays, parce que tu connus qu'ils les traitaient orgueilleusement; et tu t'acquis un renom tel qu'il existe aujourd'hui. | Hai operato miracoli e prodigi contro il Faraone, contro tutti i suoi servi e contro tutto il popolo del suo paese, perché sapevi che essi avevano trattato i nostri padri con insolenza. | 17 | And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not. | Ils refusèrent d'écouter, et ne se souvinrent point des merveilles que tu avais faites en leur faveur, mais ils raidirent leur cou, et dans leur rébellion ils se donnèrent un chef, pour retourner dans leur servitude. Mais toi, qui es un Dieu qui pardonnes, miséricordieux, pitoyable, lent à la colère, et abondant en grâce, tu ne les abandonnas point. | Si rifiutarono di ubbidire e non si ricordarono delle meraviglie che tu avevi compiuto in mezzo a loro; indurirono invece la loro cervice e nella loro ribellione si scelsero un capo per tornare alla loro schiavitù. | 18 | Yea, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, This is thy God that brought thee up out of Egypt, and had wrought great provocations; | Même lorsqu'ils se firent un veau de fonte, et qu'ils dirent: Voici ton Dieu, qui t'a fait monter d'Égypte, et qu'ils te firent de grands outrages, | neppure quando si fecero un vitello di metallo fuso e dissero: "Questo è il tuo dio che ti ha fatto uscire dall'Egitto!", fecero così una cosa blasfema. |
| 19 | Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go. | Toi, dans tes grandes miséricordes, tu ne les abandonnas point dans le désert; la colonne de nuée ne cessa point d'être sur eux le jour, pour les conduire par le chemin, ni la colonne de feu, la nuit, pour les éclairer dans le chemin par lequel ils devaient aller. | Tuttavia nella tua grande misericordia non li hai abbandonati nel deserto, la colonna di nuvola non si allontanò da loro durante il giorno per guidarli nel cammino, e la colonna di fuoco durante la notte per illuminare loro la via su cui camminare. |
| 20 | Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst. | Tu leur donnas ton bon Esprit pour les rendre sages; tu ne retiras point ta manne de leur bouche, et tu leur donnas de l'eau pour leur soif. | Hai dato il tuo buono Spirito per istruirli; non hai rifiutato la tua manna alle loro bocche e hai dato loro acqua quando erano assetati. |
| 21 | Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not. | Tu les nourris quarante ans dans le désert, sans que rien leur manquât; leurs vêtements ne s'usèrent point, et leurs pieds n'enflèrent point. | Per quarant'anni li hai nutriti nel deserto, e non mancò loro nulla; le loro vesti non si logorarono e i loro piedi non si gonfiarono. |
| 22 | Moreover thou gavest them kingdoms and nations, and didst divide them into corners: so they possessed the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan. | Tu leur donnas des royaumes et des peuples, que tu leur partageas par contrées; ils possédèrent le pays de Sihon, le pays du roi de Hesbon, et le pays d'Og, roi de Bassan. | Hai inoltre dato loro regni e popoli assegnando loro le regioni più lontane così essi entrarono in possesso del paese di Sihon, del paese del re di Heshbon e del paese di Og, re di Bashan. |
| 23 | Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it. | Tu multiplias leurs enfants comme les étoiles des cieux, et tu les introduisis au pays dont tu avais dit à leurs pères, qu'ils y entreraient pour le posséder. | Hai moltiplicato i loro figli come le stelle del cielo e li hai introdotti nel paese in cui avevi detto ai padri loro di entrare per possederlo. |
| 24 | So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would. | Et les enfants y entrèrent, et ils possédèrent le pays; tu abaissas devant eux les Cananéens, habitants du pays, et tu les livras entre leurs mains, avec leurs rois, et les peuples du pays, afin qu'ils en fissent à leur volonté. | Così i loro figli entrarono e presero possesso del paese; tu hai umiliato davanti a loro gli abitanti del paese, i Cananei, e li hai dati nelle loro mani con i loro re e con i popoli del paese, perché ne facessero quel che a loro piaceva. |
| 25 | And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness. | Ils prirent des villes fortes et une terre grasse; ils possédèrent des maisons pleines de toute sorte de biens, des citernes creusées, des vignes, des oliviers et des arbres fruitiers en abondance; ils mangèrent et furent rassasiés; ils s'engraissèrent, et se traitèrent délicieusement par ta grande bonté. | Essi si impadronirono di città fortificate e di una terra fertile ed entrarono in possesso di case piene di ogni bene, di cisterne già scavate, di vigne, di uliveti e d'alberi fruttiferi in abbondanza, mangiarono, si saziarono, ingrassarono e vissero nelle delizie per la tua grande bontà. |
| 26 | Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations. | Mais ils se rebellèrent et se révoltèrent contre toi, ils jetèrent ta loi derrière leur dos; ils tuèrent tes prophètes qui les sommaient de revenir à toi, et ils te firent de grands outrages. | Ciò nonostante essi furono disubbidirono, si ribellarono contro di te, gettarono la tua legge dietro le spalle, uccisero i tuoi profeti che li esortavano a ritornare a te e commisero cose blasfeme. |
| 27 | Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies. | Aussi tu les livras entre les mains de leurs ennemis, qui les opprimèrent. Toutefois, au temps de leur détresse, ils crièrent à toi; des cieux tu les exauças, et, selon tes grandes miséricordes, tu leur donnas des libérateurs, qui les délivrèrent de la main de leurs ennemis. | Perciò tu li desti nelle mani dei loro nemici, che li oppressero; ma al tempo della loro sventura essi gridarono a te, e tu li ascoltasti dal cielo e, nella tua grande misericordia, tu desti loro dei liberatori, che li salvarono dalle mani dei loro nemici. |
| 28 | But after they had rest, they did evil again before thee: therefore leftest thou them in the land of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them: yet when they returned, and cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and many times didst thou deliver them according to thy mercies; | Mais, dès qu'ils avaient du repos, ils recommençaient à faire le mal devant toi; alors tu les abandonnais entre les mains de leurs ennemis, qui dominaient sur eux. | 29 | And testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet they dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against thy judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear. | Et tu les adjurais de revenir à ta loi; mais ils se sont élevés avec orgueil, et n'ont point obéi à tes commandements; ils ont péché contre tes ordonnances, qui feront vivre quiconque les observera. Ils ont tiré l'épaule en arrière; ils ont roidi leur cou, et n'ont pas écouté. | Tu li esortavi per farli tornare alla tua legge, ma essi si inorgoglivano e non ubbidivano ai tuoi comandamenti, e peccavano contro i tuoi decreti per mezzo dei quali, se uno li mette in pratica salva la vita; ritraevano le loro spalle dal giogo, indurivano la loro cervice e rifiutavano di ubbidire. |
| 30 | Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands. | Tu les as attendus patiemment pendant nombre d'années, et tu les adjuras par ton Esprit, par le ministère de tes prophètes; mais ils ne leur ont point prêté l'oreille, et tu les as livrés entre les mains des peuples étrangers. | Pazientasti con essi per molti anni esortandoli mediante il tuo Spirito e per bocca dei tuoi profeti, ma essi non vollero prestare orecchio; allora tu li desti nelle mani dei popoli dei vari paesi. |
| 31 | Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God. | Néanmoins, par tes grandes miséricordes, tu ne les as pas réduits à néant, et tu ne les as pas abandonnés; car tu es un Dieu clément et miséricordieux. | Però nella tua grande compassione non li hai interamente distrutti e non li hai abbandonati, perché sei un Dio clemente e misericordioso. |
| 32 | Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day. | Et maintenant, ô notre Dieu! Dieu grand, puissant et redoutable! qui gardes l'alliance et la miséricorde, ne regarde pas comme peu de chose toute cette tribulation qui nous a atteints, nous, nos rois, nos chefs, nos sacrificateurs, nos prophètes, nos pères et tout ton peuple, depuis le temps des rois d'Assyrie jusqu'à ce jour. | Ora dunque, o DIO nostro, Dio grande, potente e tremendo, che mantieni il patto e la misericordia, non sembri poca cosa davanti a te la sciagura che è venuta su di noi, sui nostri re, sui nostri sacerdoti, sui nostri profeti, sui nostri padri e su tutto il tuo popolo, dal tempo dei re di Assiria fino al giorno d'oggi. |
| 33 | Howbeit thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly: | Tu es juste dans tout ce qui nous est arrivé; car tu as agi en vérité, mais nous avons agi avec méchanceté. | Tuttavia tu sei stato giusto in tutto quello che ci è accaduto, perché tu hai agito fedelmente, mentre noi abbiamo agito empiamente. |
| 34 | Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies, wherewith thou didst testify against them. | Nos rois, nos chefs, nos sacrificateurs et nos pères, n'ont point pratiqué ta loi, et n'ont point été attentifs à tes commandements, ni aux sommations par lesquelles tu les adjurais. | I nostri re, i nostri capi, i nostri sacerdoti i nostri padri non hanno messo in pratica la tua legge né hanno ubbidito ai tuoi comandamenti e ai tuoi precetti con cui li esortavi. |
| 35 | For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works. | Ils ne t'ont point servi durant leur règne, au milieu des grands biens que tu leur accordais, dans le pays spacieux et gras que tu avais mis à leur disposition, et ils ne se sont point détournés de leurs oeuvres mauvaises. | Persino quando si trovavano nel loro regno, nella grande prosperità che tu avevi loro largito e nel vasto e fertile paese che avevi messo a loro disposizione, non ti servirono e non abbandonarono le loro opere malvagie. |
| 36 | Behold, we are servants this day, and for the land that thou gavest unto our fathers to eat the fruit thereof and the good thereof, behold, we are servants in it: | Voici, nous sommes aujourd'hui esclaves! Dans le pays que tu as donné à nos pères, pour en manger le fruit et les biens, voici, nous sommes esclaves! | E oggi eccoci schiavi! | 37 | And it yieldeth much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have dominion over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress. | Et il rapporte en abondance pour les rois que tu as établis sur nous, à cause de nos péchés, et qui dominent sur nos corps et sur nos bêtes, à leur volonté, en sorte que nous sommes dans une grande détresse! | Così i suoi abbondanti prodotti vanno ai re che tu hai stabilito sopra di noi, a causa dei nostri peccati; essi signoreggiano sui nostri corpi e sul nostro bestiame come vogliono; e noi siamo in grande angoscia. |
| 38 | And because of all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, Levites, and priests, seal unto it. | A cause de tout cela, nous contractâmes une alliance, nous l'écrivîmes, et nos chefs, nos Lévites et nos sacrificateurs, y apposèrent leur sceau. | A motivo di tutto questo, noi prendiamo un fermo impegno e lo mettiamo per scritto; e i nostri capi, i nostri Leviti, e i nostri sacerdoti vi metteranno il loro sigillo. |
