| 1 | And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel. | Or, tout le peuple s'assembla comme un seul homme, sur la place qui est devant la porte des eaux; et ils dirent à Esdras, le scribe, d'apporter le livre de la loi de Moïse, prescrite par l'Éternel à Israël. | Allora tutto il popolo si radunò come un solo uomo sulla piazza che era davanti alla porta delle Acque; dissero poi ad Esdra lo scriba, che portasse il libro della legge di Mosè che l'Eterno aveva dato a Israele. |
| 2 | And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month. | Et le premier jour du septième mois, Esdras, le sacrificateur, apporta la loi devant l'assemblée, composée d'hommes et de femmes, et de tous ceux qui étaient capables de l'entendre. | Il primo giorno del settimo mese, il sacerdote Esdra portò la legge davanti all'assemblea degli uomini, donne e di tutti quelli capaci di intendere. |
| 3 | And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law. | Alors il lut au livre, sur la place qui est devant la porte des eaux, depuis le matin jusqu'au milieu du jour, en présence des hommes et des femmes, et de ceux qui étaient capables de l'entendre; et les oreilles de tout le peuple furent attentives à la lecture du livre de la loi. | Quindi lo lesse sulla piazza che sta davanti alla porta delle Acque, dallo spuntar del giorno fino a mezzogiorno, davanti agli uomini, alle donne e a quelli capaci di intendere; e le orecchie di tutto il popolo stavano attente al libro della legge. |
| 4 | And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam. | Esdras, le scribe, se tenait sur une estrade de bois, qu'on avait dressée pour cela; et il avait auprès de lui, à sa main droite, Matthithia, Shéma, Anaja, Urie, Hilkija et Maaséja; et à sa gauche, Pédaja, Mishaël, Malkija, Hashum, Hash-baddana, Zacharie et Méshullam. | Esdra, lo scriba, stava su una tribuna di legno che avevano fatto per l'occasione. | 5 | And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up: | Esdras ouvrit le livre devant tout le peuple; car il était au-dessus de tout le peuple; et sitôt qu'il l'eut ouvert, tout le peuple se tint debout. | Esdra aprì il libro alla presenza di tutto il popolo, perché stava più in alto di tutto il popolo; come l'aperse, tutto il popolo si alzò in piedi. |
| 6 | And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground. | Et Esdras bénit l'Éternel, le grand Dieu, et tout le peuple répondit: Amen! | 7 | Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place. | Ensuite Jéshua, Bani, Shérébia, Jamin, Akkub, Shabéthaï, Hodija, Maaséja, Kélita, Azaria, Jozabad, Hanan, Pélaja, et les autres Lévites, expliquèrent la loi au peuple, le peuple se tenant en sa place. | Jeshua, Bani, Scerebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azaria, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah e i Leviti aiutavano il popolo a capire la legge, mentre il popolo stava in piedi al suo posto. |

| 9 | And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. | Et Néhémie, le gouverneur, Esdras, sacrificateur et scribe, et les Lévites, qui instruisaient le peuple, dirent au peuple: Ce jour est consacré à l'Éternel notre Dieu; ne vous affligez pas, et ne pleurez pas; car tout le peuple pleurait en entendant les paroles de la loi. | Nehemia, che era il governatore Esdra, sacerdote e scriba, e i Leviti che ammaestravano il popolo dissero a tutto il popolo: Questo giorno è consacrato all'Eterno, il vostro DIO, non fate cordoglio e non piangete!. | 10 | Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength. | Et ils leur dirent: Allez, mangez des viandes grasses, et buvez du vin doux, et envoyez des portions à ceux qui n'ont rien d'apprêté, car ce jour est consacré à notre Seigneur; ne soyez donc point affligés, car la joie de l'Éternel est votre force. | Poi Nehemia disse loro: Andate, mangiate cibi squisiti e bevete vini dolci, e mandatene porzioni a chi non ha nulla di preparato, perché questo giorno è consacrato al Signore nostro. Non rattristatevi, perché la gioia dell'Eterno è la vostra forza. |
| 11 | So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved. | Et les Lévites calmèrent tout le peuple, en disant: Faites silence, car ce jour est saint, et ne vous affligez point. | I Leviti tenevano zitto tutto il popolo, dicendo: Tacete, perché questo giorno è santo. Non rattristatevi!. |
| 12 | And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them. | Ainsi tout le peuple s'en alla pour manger, et pour boire, et pour envoyer des portions, et pour faire une grande réjouissance; car ils avaient compris les paroles qu'on leur avait fait connaître. | Allora tutto il popolo andò a mangiare, a bere, a mandar porzioni ai poveri e a festeggiare con grande esultanza perché avevano compreso le parole che erano state loro spiegate. |
| 13 | And on the second day were gathered together the chief of the fathers of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to understand the words of the law. | Le second jour, les chefs des pères de tout le peuple, les sacrificateurs et les Lévites, s'assemblèrent auprès d'Esdras, le scribe, pour s'instruire dans les paroles de la loi. | Il secondo giorno, i capi delle case paterne di tutto il popolo, i sacerdoti e i Leviti si radunarono presso Esdra, lo scriba, per poter intendere le parole della legge. |
| 14 | And they found written in the law which the LORD had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month: | Ils trouvèrent donc écrit dans la loi que l'Éternel avait prescrite par Moïse, que les enfants d'Israël devaient demeurer dans des tabernacles pendant la fête, au septième mois, | Trovarono scritto nella legge che l'Eterno aveva comandato per mezzo di Mosè, che i figli d'Israele dovevano dimorare in capanne durante la festa del settimo mese, |
| 15 | And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written. | Et qu'on devait l'annoncer et le publier dans toutes les villes et à Jérusalem, en disant: Allez à la montagne, et apportez des rameaux d'olivier, des rameaux d'olivier sauvage, des rameaux de myrthe, des rameaux de palmier, et des rameaux d'arbres touffus, pour faire des tabernacles, ainsi qu'il est écrit. | e che in tutte le loro città e a Gerusalemme dovevano divulgare e proclamare un bando che diceva: Andate al monte e portatene rami di ulivo, rami di ulivastro, rami di mirto, rami di palma e rami dal folto fogliame, per farne capanne, come sta scritto. |
| 16 | So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves booths, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the street of the water gate, and in the street of the gate of Ephraim. | Alors le peuple sortit, et en rapporta; et ils se firent des tabernacles, chacun sur son toit, dans leurs cours, dans les parvis de la maison de Dieu, sur la place de la porte des eaux, et sur la place de la porte d'Éphraïm. | Allora il popolo andò fuori e portò i rami, e si costruirono le capanne, chi sul tetto della propria casa, chi nei loro cortili, altri nei cortili della casa di DIO, sulla piazza della porta delle Acque e sulla piazza della porta di Efraim. |
| 17 | And all the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and sat under the booths: for since the days of Jeshua the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness. | Ainsi toute l'assemblée de ceux qui étaient retournés de la captivité fit des tabernacles, et ils se tinrent dans ces tabernacles. Or les enfants d'Israël n'en avaient point fait de tels, depuis les jours de Josué, fils de Nun, jusqu'à ce jour-là. Il y eut donc une fort grande joie. | Così tutta l'assemblea di quelli che erano tornati dalla cattività costruì capanne e dimorò nelle capanne. Dal tempo di Giosué, figlio di Nun, fino a quel giorno, i figli d'Israele, non avevano fatto nulla di simile. E vi fu grandissima allegrezza. |
| 18 | Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the manner. | Et on lut dans le livre de la loi de Dieu, chaque jour, depuis le premier jour jusqu'au dernier. On célébra la fête pendant sept jours, et il y eut une assemblée solennelle au huitième jour, comme il était ordonné. | Esdra fece la lettura del libro della legge di DIO ogni giorno, dal primo giorno fino all'ultimo giorno.
