| 8 | Et quant aux Lévites, il y avait Jésuah, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sérebia, Juda, et Mattania, qui était commis sur les louanges, lui et ses frères. | Moreover the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, [and] Mattaniah, who was over the thanksgiving, he and his brethren. |

| 22 | Quant aux Lévites, les chefs de leurs pères, du temps d'Eliasib, Jojadah, Johanan et Jadduah sont enregistrés avec les Sacrificateurs, jusqu'au règne de Darius de Perse. | As for the Levites, in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, there were recorded the heads of fathers` [houses]; also the priests, in the reign of Darius the Persian. |
| 23 | De sorte que les enfants de Lévi Chefs des pères ont été enregistrés au Livre des Chroniques, jusqu'au temps de Johanan, petit-fils d'Eliasib. | The sons of Levi, heads of fathers` [houses], were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib. |
| 24 | Les Chefs donc des Lévites furent Hasabia, Sérebia, et Jésuah, fils de Kadmiel, et leurs frères étaient vis-à-vis d'eux, pour louer et célébrer le Nom de Dieu, selon le commandement de David, homme de Dieu, un rang correspondant à l'autre. | And the chiefs of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise and give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, watch next to watch. |
| 25 | Mattania, Bakbukia et Hobadia, Mésullam, Talmon, et Hakkub avaient la charge des portiers qui faisaient la garde dans les assemblées des portes. | Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the watch at the store-houses of the gates. |
| 26 | Ceux-là furent du temps de Jojakim, fils de Jésuah, fils de Jotsadak, et du temps de Néhémie le Gouverneur, et d'Esdras Sacrificateur et Scribe. | These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest the scribe. |
| 27 | Or en la dédicace de la muraille de Jérusalem, on envoya quérir les Lévites de tous leurs lieux, pour les faire venir à Jérusalem, afin qu'on célébrât la dédicace avec joie, par des actions de grâces, et par des cantiques sur des cymbales, des musettes, et des violons. | And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps. |
| 28 | On assembla donc ceux qui étaient de la race des chantres, tant de la campagne des environs de Jérusalem, que des bourgades des Nétophathiens. | And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of the Netophathites; |
| 29 | Et du lieu de Guilgal, et des territoires de Guébah et d'Hazmaveth; car les chantres s'étaient bâti des bourgades aux environs de Jérusalem. | also from Beth-gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had builded them villages round about Jerusalem. |
| 30 | Ainsi les Sacrificateurs et les Lévites se purifièrent, ils purifièrent aussi le peuple, les portes, et la muraille. | And the priests and the Levites purified themselves; and they purified the people, and the gates, and the wall. |
| 31 | Puis je fis monter les principaux de Juda sur la muraille, et j'établis deux grandes bandes qui devaient chanter les louanges de Dieu, et le chemin de l'une était à la droite, sur la muraille tendant vers la porte de la fiente. | Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies that gave thanks and went in procession; [whereof one went] on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate: |

| 34 | Juda, Benjamin, Sémahia et Jérémie; | Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah, |
| 35 | Et quelques-uns d'entre les enfants des Sacrificateurs avec les trompettes. Puis Zacharie fils de Jonathan, fils de Sémahia, fils de Mattania, fils de Micaja, fils de Zaccur, fils d'Asaph, | and certain of the priests` sons with trumpets: Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph; |
| 36 | Et ses frères, Sémahia, Hazaréel, Milalaï, Guilalaï, Mahaï, Nathanaël, Juda, et Hanani, avec les instruments des cantiques de David, homme de Dieu; et Esdras le cribe marchait devant eux. | and his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe was before them. |
| 37 | Et ils vinrent vers la porte de la fontaine qui était vis-à-vis d'eux, et montèrent aux degrés de la cité de David, par la montée de la muraille, depuis la maison de David, jusqu'à la porte des eaux, vers l'orient. | And by the fountain gate, and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, even unto the water gate eastward. |
| 38 | Et la seconde bande de ceux qui chantaient les louanges de Dieu, allait à l'opposite, et j'allais après elle, avec l'autre moitié du peuple, allant sur la muraille, par-dessus la tour des fours, jusqu'à la muraille large; | And the other company of them that gave thanks went to meet them, and I after them, with the half of the people, upon the wall, above the tower of the furnaces, even unto the broad wall, |
| 39 | Et vers la porte d'Ephraïm, et vers la porte vieille, et vers la porte des poissons, vers la tour de Hananéel, et vers la tour de Méah, jusqu'à la porte du bercail, et ils s'arrêtèrent vers la porte de la prison. | and above the gate of Ephraim, and by the old gate, and by the fish gate, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hammeah, even unto the sheep gate: and they stood still in the gate of the guard. |
| 40 | Puis les deux bandes de ceux qui chantaient les louanges de Dieu, s'arrêtèrent dans la maison de Dieu. Je m'arrêtai aussi avec la moitié des magistrats qui étaient avec moi; | So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me; |
| 41 | Et les Sacrificateurs, Eliakim, Mahaséja, Minjamin, Micaja, Eliohénaï, Zacharie, et Hanania, avec les trompettes; | and the priests, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets; |
| 42 | Et Mahaséja, Sémahia, Elhaza, Huzi, Johanan, Malkija, Hélam et Hézer. Puis les chantres, desquels Jizrahia avait la charge, firent retentir leur voix. | and Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer. |
| 43 | On offrit aussi en ce jour-là de grands sacrifices, et on se réjouit, parce que Dieu leur avait donné une grande matière de joie: même les femmes et les enfants se réjouirent; et la joie de Jérusalem fut entendue de loin. | And they offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced; for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off. |
| 44 | Et on établit en ce jour-là des hommes sur les chambres des trésors, des oblations, des prémices et des dîmes; pour rassembler du territoire des villes les portions ordonnées par la Loi aux Sacrificateurs et aux Lévites; car Juda fut dans la joie à cause des Sacrificateurs et des Lévites, qui se trouvaient là; | And on that day were men appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the heave-offerings, for the first-fruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them, according to the fields of the cities, the portions appointed by the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited. |
| 45 | Parce qu'ils avaient gardé la charge qui leur avait été donnée de la part de leur Dieu, et la charge de la purification. On établit aussi des chantres, et des portiers, selon le commandement de David, et de Salomon, son fils. | And they kept the charge of their God, and the charge of the purification, and [so did] the singers and the porters, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son. |
| 46 | Car autrefois, du temps de David et d'Asaph, on avait établi des Chefs des chantres, et des cantiques de louange, et d'action de grâces à Dieu. | For in the days of David and Asaph of old there was a chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God. |
| 47 | C'est pourquoi tous les Israélites du temps de Zorobabel, et du temps de Néhémie, donnaient les portions des chantres et des portiers, savoir, ce qu'il fallait chaque jour, et les consacraient aux Lévites, et les Lévites les consacraient aux enfants d'Aaron. | And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, as every day required: and they set apart [that which was] for the Levites; and the Levites set apart [that which was] for the sons of Aaron. |
