| 1 | Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. | Allora Gesù fu condotto dallo Spirito nel deserto, per essere tentato dal diavolo. |

| 3 | And the tempter came and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become bread. | Ora il tentatore, accostandosi, gli disse: Se tu sei il Figlio di Dio, di' che queste pietre diventino pane. |
| 4 | But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. | Ma egli, rispondendo, disse: Sta scritto: "L'uomo non vive di solo pane, ma di ogni parola che procede dalla bocca di Dio". |
| 5 | Then the devil taketh him into the holy city; and he set him on the pinnacle of the temple, | Allora il diavolo lo trasportò nella santa città, lo pose sull'orlo del tempio |
| 6 | and saith unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and, On their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest haply thou dash thy foot against a stone. | e gli disse: Se sei il Figlio di Dio, gettati giù, perché sta scritto: "Egli darà ordine ai suoi angeli riguardo a te; ed essi ti porteranno sulle loro mani, perché non urti col tuo piede in alcuna pietra". |
| 7 | Jesus said unto him, Again it is written, Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God. | Gesù gli disse: Sta anche scritto "Non tentare il Signore Dio tuo". |
| 8 | Again, the devil taketh him unto an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; | Di nuovo il diavolo lo trasportò sopra un monte altissimo e gli mostrò tutti i regni del mondo e la loro gloria |
| 9 | and he said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. | e gli disse: Io ti darò tutte queste cose se, prostrandoti a terra, mi adori. |
| 10 | Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. | Allora Gesù gli disse: Vattene Satana, poiché sta scritto: "Adora il Signore Dio tuo e servi a lui solo". |
| 11 | Then the devil leaveth him; and behold, angels came and ministered unto him. | Allora il diavolo lo lasciò; ed ecco degli angeli gli si accostarono e lo servivano. |
| 12 | Now when he heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee; | Or Gesù, avendo udito che Giovanni era stato messo in prigione, si ritirò nella Galilea. |
| 13 | and leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali: | Poi lasciò Nazaret e venne ad abitare a Capernaum, città posta sulla riva del mare, ai confini di Zabulon e di Neftali. |
| 14 | that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, | affinché si adempisse ciò che fu detto dal profeta Isaia, quando disse: |
| 15 | The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, Toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles, | Il paese di Zabulon, il paese di Neftali, sulla riva del mare, la regione al di là del Giordano, la Galilea dei gentili, |
| 16 | The people that sat in darkness Saw a great light, And to them that sat in the region and shadow of death, To them did light spring up. | il popolo che giaceva nelle tenebre ha visto una grande luce, e su coloro che giacevano nella regione e nell'ombra della morte, si è levata la luce. |
| 17 | From that time began Jesus to preach, and to say, Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. | Da quel tempo Gesù cominciò a predicare e a dire: Ravvedetevi, perché il regno dei cieli è vicino!. |
| 18 | And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishers. | Or Gesù, camminando lungo il mare della Galilea, vide due fratelli: Simone detto Pietro e Andrea suo fratello, i quali gettavano la rete nel mare, poiché erano pescatori; |
| 19 | And he saith unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you fishers of men. | e disse loro: Seguitemi e io vi farò pescatori di uomini. |
| 20 | And they straightway left the nets, and followed him. | Or essi, lasciate prontamente le reti, lo seguirono. |
| 21 | And going on from thence he saw two other brethren, James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. | E, proseguendo il cammino, vide due altri fratelli: Giacomo, il figlio di Zebedeo e Giovanni suo fratello, nella barca con Zebedeo loro padre, i quali riassettavano le reti; e li chiamò. |
| 22 | And they straightway left the boat and their father, and followed him. | Ed essi, lasciata prontamente la barca e il padre loro, lo seguirono. |
| 23 | And Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of disease and all manner of sickness among the people. | E Gesù andava attorno per tutta la Galilea, insegnando nelle loro sinagoghe, predicando l'evangelo del regno, e sanando ogni malattia e ogni infermità fra il popolo. |
| 24 | And the report of him went forth into all Syria: and they brought unto him all that were sick, holden with divers diseases and torments, possessed with demons, and epileptic, and palsied; and he healed them. | E la sua fama si sparse per tutta la Siria; e gli presentarono tutti i malati, colpiti da varie infermità e dolori, indemoniati, epilettici e paralitici; ed egli li guarì. |
| 25 | And there followed him great multitudes from Galilee and Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judaea and [from] beyond the Jordan. | E grandi folle lo seguivano dalla Galilea, dalla Decapoli, da Gerusalemme, dalla Giudea e da oltre il Giordano. |
