| 13 | Alors Pilate lui dit: n'entends-tu pas combien ils portent de témoignages contre toi? | Then saith Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? | Allora Pilato gli disse: Non odi quante cose testimoniano contro di te?. |
| 14 | Mais il ne lui répondit pas un mot sur quoi que ce fût; de sorte que le Gouverneur s'en étonnait extrêmement. | And he gave him no answer, not even to one word: insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly. | Ma egli non gli rispose neppure una parola, tanto che il governatore ne fu grandemente meravigliato. |
| 15 | Or le Gouverneur avait accoutumé de relâcher au peuple le jour de la Fête un prisonnier, quel que ce fût qu'on demandât. | Now at the feast the governor was wont to release unto the multitude one prisoner, whom they would. | Ora il governatore, in occasione di ogni festività, aveva l'usanza di rilasciare alla folla un prigioniero, come essi volevano. |

Barabbas, ou Jésus qu'on appelle Christ? | When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ? | Quando si furono radunati, Pilato chiese loro: Chi volete che vi liberi, Barabba o Gesù, detto Cristo?. |

Ils dirent: Barabbas. | But the governor answered and said unto them, Which of the two will ye that I release unto you? | 24 | Alors Pilate voyant qu'il ne gagnait rien, mais que le tumulte s'augmentait, prit de l'eau, et lava ses mains devant le peuple, en disant: je suis innocent du sang de ce juste, vous y penserez. | So when Pilate saw that he prevailed nothing, but rather that a tumult was arising, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man; see ye [to it]. | Allora Pilato, vedendo che non otteneva nulla, ma che anzi il tumulto cresceva sempre più, prese dell'acqua e si lavò le mani davanti alla folla, dicendo: Io sono innocente del sangue di questo giusto; pensateci voi. |

| 29 | Et ayant fait une couronne d'épines entrelacées, ils la mirent sur sa tête, avec un roseau dans sa main droite; puis s'agenouillant devant lui, ils se moquaient de lui, en disant: nous te saluons, Roi des Juifs! | And they platted a crown of thorns and put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! | E, intrecciata una corona di spine, gliela posero sul capo e gli misero una canna nella mano destra; e, inginocchiandosi davanti a lui, lo schernivano dicendo: Salve, o re dei Giudei!. |
| 30 | Et après avoir craché contre lui, ils prirent le roseau, et ils en frappaient sa tête. | And they spat upon him, and took the reed and smote him on the head. | Poi, sputandogli a addosso, presero la canna e con quella lo percotevano sul capo. |
| 31 | Et après s'être moqués de lui, ils lui ôtèrent le manteau, et le vêtirent de ses vêtements, et l'amenèrent pour le crucifier. | And when they had mocked him, they took off from him the robe, and put on him his garments, and led him away to crucify him. | E dopo averlo schernito, lo spogliarono di quel manto e lo rivestirono delle sue vesti; poi lo condussero via per crocifiggerlo. |
| 32 | Et comme ils sortaient, ils rencontrèrent un Cyrénéen, nommé Simon, lequel ils contraignirent de porter la croix de Jésus. | And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to go [with them], that he might bear his cross. | Ora, uscendo, incontrarono un uomo di Cirene, di nome Simone, che costrinsero a portare la croce di Gesù. |
| 33 | Et étant arrivés au lieu appelé Golgotha, c'est-à-dire, le lieu du Crâne, | And they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, The place of a skull, | E, giunti sul luogo detto Golgota, che vuol dire: il luogo del teschio |
| 34 | Ils lui donnèrent à boire du vinaigre mêlé avec du fiel; mais quand il en eut goûté, il n'en voulut point boire. | they gave him wine to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted it, he would not drink. | gli diedero da bere dell'aceto mescolato con fiele; ma egli, avendolo assaggiato non volle berne. |
| 35 | Et après l'avoir crucifié, ils partagèrent ses vêtements, en les jetant au sort, afin que ce qui avait été dit par un Prophète, fût accompli: ils ont partagé entre eux mes vêtements, et ont jeté ma robe au sort. | And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments among them, casting lots; | Dopo averlo crocifisso, si spartirono le sue vesti tirando a sorte, affinché si adempisse ciò che fu detto dal profeta: Hanno diviso tra loro le mie vesti e sulla mia tunica hanno tirato a sorte. |
| 36 | Puis s'étant assis, ils le gardaient là. | and they sat and watched him there. | Postisi quindi a sedere, gli facevano la guardia. |
| 37 | Ils mirent aussi au-dessus de sa tête un écriteau, où la cause de sa condamnation était marquée en ces mots: CELUI-CI EST JESUS LE ROI DES JUIFS. | And they set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. | Al di sopra del suo capo, posero anche la motivazione scritta della sua condanna: COSTUI E' GESU', IL RE DEI GIUDEI. |
| 38 | Et deux brigands furent crucifiés avec lui, l'un à sa droite, et l'autre à sa gauche. | Then are there crucified with him two robbers, one on the right hand and one on the left. | Allora furono crocifissi con lui due ladroni: uno a destra e l'altro a sinistra. |
| 39 | Et ceux qui passaient par là, lui disaient des outrages, en branlant la tête, | And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, | E coloro che passavano di là lo ingiuriavano scuotendo il capo, |
| 40 | Et disant: toi qui détruis le Temple, et qui le rebâtis en trois jours, sauve-toi toi-même; si tu es le Fils de Dieu, descends de la croix. | and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross. | e dicendo: Tu che distruggi il tempio e in tre giorni lo ricostruisci, salva te stesso, se sei il Figlio di Dio, scendi giù dalla croce!. |
| 41 | Pareillement aussi les principaux Sacrificateurs avec les Scribes et les Anciens, se moquant, disaient: | In like manner also the chief priests mocking [him], with the scribes and elders, said, | Similmente, anche i capi dei sacerdoti, con gli scribi e gli anziani facendosi beffe, dicevano: |
| 42 | Il a sauvé les autres, il ne se peut sauver lui-même: s'il est le Roi d'Israël, qu'il descende maintenant de la croix, et nous croirons en lui. | He saved others; himself he cannot save. He is the King of Israel; let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on him. | Egli ha salvato gli altri e non può salvare se stesso, se è il re d'Israele, scenda ora giù dalla croce e noi crederemo in lui; |
| 43 | Il se confie en Dieu; mais si Dieu l'aime, qu'il le délivre maintenant, car il a dit: je suis le Fils de Dieu. | He trusteth on God; let him deliver him now, if he desireth him: for he said, I am the Son of God. | egli si è confidato in Dio; lo liberi ora, se veramente lo gradisce, poiché ha detto: io sono il Figlio di Dio. |
| 44 | Les brigands aussi qui étaient crucifiés avec lui, lui reprochaient la même chose. | And the robbers also that were crucified with him cast upon him the same reproach. | Anche i ladroni crocifissi con lui lo ingiuriavano allo stesso modo. |
| 45 | Or depuis six heures il y eut des ténèbres sur tout le pays, jusqu'à neuf heures. | Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. | Dall'ora sesta fino all'ora nona si fecero tenebre su tutto il paese. |
| 46 | Et environ les neuf heures Jésus s'écria à haute voix, en disant: Eli, Eli, lamma sabachthani? c'est-à-dire, Mon Dieu! mon Dieu! pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné? | And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? | Verso l'ora nona, Gesù gridò con gran voce dicendo: Elì, Elì, lammà sabactanì?. Cioè: Dio mio, Dio mio perché mi hai abbandonato?. |

| 64 | Commande donc que le sépulcre soit gardé sûrement jusques au troisième jour; de peur que ses Disciples ne viennent de nuit, et ne le dérobent, et qu'ils ne disent au peuple: il est ressuscité des morts; car cette dernière imposture serait pire que la première. | Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest haply his disciples come and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: and the last error will be worse than the first. | Ordina dunque che il sepolcro sia ben custodito fino al terzo giorno, che talora non vengano i suoi discepoli di notte a rubare il corpo e poi dicano al popolo: "egli è risuscitato dai morti" così l'ultimo inganno sarebbe peggiore del primo. |
