| 1 | Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. | Alors le royaume des cieux sera semblable à dix vierges qui, ayant pris leurs lampes, sortirent à la rencontre de l'époux. |

| 4 | But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. | mais les sages avaient pris de l'huile dans leurs vases avec leurs lampes. |
| 5 | While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. | Comme l'époux tardait, elles s'assoupirent toutes et s'endormirent. |
| 6 | And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. | Au milieu de la nuit, un cri se fit (entendre) : "Voici l'époux ! Allez à sa rencontre ! " |
| 7 | Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. | Alors toutes ces vierges se levèrent et préparèrent leurs lampes. |
| 8 | And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. | Et les folles dirent aux sages : "Donnez-nous de votre huile, car nos lampes s'éteignent." |
| 9 | But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. | Les sages répondirent : "De crainte qu'il n'y en ait pas assez pour nous et pour vous, allez plutôt chez ceux qui en vendent, et achetez-en pour vous." |
| 10 | And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. | Mais, pendant qu'elles s'en allaient en acheter, l'époux arriva, et celles qui étaient prêtes entrèrent avec lui au festin des noces, et la porte fut fermée. |
| 11 | Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. | Plus tard, les autres vierges vinrent aussi, disant : "Seigneur, Seigneur, ouvrez-nous ! " |
| 12 | But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. | Mais il répondit : "En vérité, je vous le dis, je ne vous connais pas." |
| 13 | Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. | Donc veillez, car vous ne savez ni le jour, ni l'heure. |
| 14 | For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. | Car il en est comme d'un homme qui, partant pour un voyage, appela ses serviteurs et leur remit ses biens. |

| 18 | But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. | Mais celui qui en avait reçu un s'en alla faire un trou en terre, et il y cacha l'argent de son maître. |
| 19 | After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. | Longtemps après, le maître de ces serviteurs revient et leur fait rendre compte. |
| 20 | And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. | S'avançant, celui qui avait reçu les cinq talents en présenta cinq autres, en disant : "Maître, vous m'aviez remis cinq talents; voici cinq autres talents que j'ai gagnés." |
| 21 | His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. | Son maître lui dit : "Bien, serviteur bon et fidèle; en peu tu as été fidèle, je te préposerai à beaucoup; entre dans la joie de ton maître." |

| 26 | His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: | Son maître lui répondit : "Serviteur mauvais et paresseux, tu savais que je moissonne où je n'ai pas semé, et que je recueille où je n'ai pas répandu; |
| 27 | Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. | il te fallait donc porter mon argent aux banquiers, et, à mon retour, j'aurais repris ce qui est mien avec un intérêt. |
| 28 | Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. | Otez-lui donc le talent, et donnez-le à celui qui a les dix talents. |
| 29 | For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. | Car on donnera à celui qui a, quel qu'il soit, et il y aura (pour lui) surabondance; mais à celui qui n'a pas, on lui ôtera même ce qu'il a. |
| 30 | And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. | Et ce serviteur inutile, jetez-le dans les ténèbres extérieures : là il y aura les pleurs et le grincement de dents. |
| 31 | When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: | Or quand le Fils de l'homme viendra dans sa gloire, et tous les anges avec lui, il s'assiéra alors sur son trône de gloire, |
| 32 | And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: | et toutes les nations seront rassemblées devant lui, et il séparera les uns d'avec les autres, comme le pasteur sépare les brebis d'avec les boucs, |
| 33 | And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. | et il mettra les brebis à sa droite et les boucs à sa gauche. |
| 34 | Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: | Alors le Roi dira à ceux qui seront à sa droite : "Venez, les bénis de mon Père : prenez possession du royaume qui vous a été préparé dès la création du monde. |
| 35 | For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: | Car j'ai eu faim, et vous m'avez donné à manger; j'ai eu soif, et vous m'avez donné à boire; j'étais étranger, et vous m'avez recueilli; |
| 36 | Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. | nu, et vous m'avez vêtu; j'ai été malade, et vous m'avez visité; j'étais en prison, et vous êtes venus à moi." |
| 37 | Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? | Alors les justes lui répondront : "Seigneur, quand vous avons-nous vu avoir faim, et vous avons-nous donné à manger; avoir soif, et vous avons-nous donné à boire ? |
| 38 | When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? | Quand vous avons-nous vu étranger, et vous avons-nous recueilli; nu, et vous avons-nous vêtu ? |
| 39 | Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? | Quand vous avons-nous vu malade ou en prison, et sommes-nous venus à vous ?" |
| 40 | And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. | Et le Roi leur répondra : "En vérité, je vous le dis, chaque fois que vous l'avez fait à l'un de ces plus petits de mes frères, c'est à moi que vous l'avez fait." |
| 41 | Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: | Alors il dira aussi à ceux qui seront à sa gauche : "Allez-vous-en loin de moi, les maudits, au feu éternel, qui a été préparé pour le diable et pour ses anges. |
| 42 | For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: | Car j'ai eu faim, et vous ne m'avez pas donné à manger; j'ai eu soif, et vous ne m'avez pas donné à boire; |
| 43 | I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. | j'étais étranger, et vous ne m'avez pas recueilli; nu, et vous ne m'avez pas vêtu; malade et en prison, et vous ne m'avez pas visité." |
| 44 | Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? | Alors eux aussi lui répondront : "Seigneur, quand vous avons-nous vu avoir faim, ou avoir soif, ou étranger, ou nu, ou malade, ou en prison, et ne vous avons-nous pas assisté ?" |
| 45 | Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. | Alors il leur répondra : "En vérité, je vous le dis, chaque fois que vous ne l'avez pas fait à l'un de ces plus petits, c'est à moi que vous ne l'avez pas fait." |
| 46 | And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. | Et ceux-ci s'en iront au supplice éternel, et les justes à la vie éternelle." |
