| 6 | Mais quiconque scandalise un de ces petits qui croient en moi, il lui vaudrait mieux qu'on lui pendît une meule d'âne au cou, et qu'on le jetât au fond de la mer. | But whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and [that] he should be sunk in the depth of the sea. | Ma chi avrà scandalizzato uno di questi piccoli che credono in me, sarebbe meglio per lui che gli fosse legata una macina d'asino al collo e che fosse sommerso nel fondo del mare. |
| 7 | Malheur au monde à cause des scandales; car il est infaillible qu'il n'arrive des scandales; toutefois malheur à l'homme par qui le scandale arrive. | Woe unto the world because of occasions of stumbling! for it must needs be that the occasions come; but woe to that man through whom the occasion cometh! | Guai al mondo per gli scandali! | 8 | Que si ta main ou ton pied te fait broncher, coupe-les, et jette-les loin de toi; car il vaut mieux que tu entres boiteux ou manchot dans la vie, que d'avoir deux pieds ou deux mains, et d'être jeté au feu éternel. | And if thy hand or thy foot causeth thee to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee: it is good for thee to enter into life maimed or halt, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the eternal fire. | Ora, se la tua mano, o il tuo piede, ti è occasione di peccato, mozzalo e gettalo via da te; è meglio per te entrare nella vita monco o zoppo, che avere due mani e due piedi ed essere gettato nel fuoco eterno. |
| 9 | Et si ton oeil te fait broncher, arrache-le, et jette-le loin de toi; car il vaut mieux que tu entres dans la vie n'ayant qu'un oeil, que d'avoir deux yeux, et d'être jeté dans la géhenne du feu. | And if thine eye causeth thee to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is good for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire. | Parimenti, se il tuo occhio ti è occasione di peccato, cavalo e gettalo via da te, è meglio per te entrare nella vita avendo un occhio solo che, avendone due, esser gettato nella Geenna, del fuoco. |
| 10 | Prenez garde de ne mépriser aucun de ces petits, car je vous dis, que dans les cieux leurs Anges regardent toujours la face de mon Père qui est aux cieux. | See that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven. | Guardatevi dal disprezzare alcuno di questi piccoli, perché io vi dico che gli angeli loro vedono continuamente nei cieli la faccia del Padre mio, che è nei cieli. |

Si un homme a cent brebis, et qu'il y en ait une qui se soit égarée, ne laisse-t-il pas les quatre-vingt-dix-neuf, pour s'en aller dans les montagnes chercher celle qui s'est égarée? | How think ye? if any man have a hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and go unto the mountains, and seek that which goeth astray? | Che ve ne pare? Se un uomo ha cento pecore ed una di esse si smarrisce non lascerà egli le novantanove sui monti per andare in cerca di quella smarrita? |
| 13 | Et s'il arrive qu'il la trouve, en vérité je vous dis, qu'il en a plus de joie, que des quatre-vingt-dix-neuf qui ne se sont point égarées. | And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth over it more than over the ninety and nine which have not gone astray. | E se gli capita di ritrovarla, io vi dico in verità che si rallegrerà più di questa che delle novantanove che non si erano smarrite. |
| 14 | Ainsi la volonté de votre Père qui est aux cieux n'est pas qu'un seul de ces petits périsse. | Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. | Così è la volontà del Padre vostro che è nei cieli, che neppure uno di questi piccoli perisca. |
| 15 | Que si ton frère a péché contre toi, va, et reprends-le entre toi et lui seul; s'il t'écoute, tu as gagné ton frère. | And if thy brother sin against thee, go, show him his fault between thee and him alone: if he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. | Ora, se il tuo fratello ha peccato contro di te, va' e riprendilo fra te e lui solo; se ti ascolta, tu hai guadagnato il tuo fratello; |
| 16 | Mais s'il ne t'écoute point, prends encore avec toi une ou deux personnes; afin qu'en la bouche de deux ou de trois témoins toute parole soit ferme. | But if he hear [thee] not, take with thee one or two more, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may be established. | ma se non ti ascolta, prendi con te ancora uno o due persone, affinché ogni parola sia confermata per la bocca di due o tre testimoni. |
| 17 | Que s'il ne daigne pas les écouter, dis-le à l'Eglise; et s'il ne daigne pas écouter l'Eglise, qu'il te soit comme un païen et comme un péager. | And if he refuse to hear them, tell it unto the church: and if he refuse to hear the church also, let him be unto thee as the Gentile and the publican. | Se poi rifiuta di ascoltarli, dillo alla chiesa; e se rifiuta anche di ascoltare la chiesa, sia per te come il pagano e il pubblicano. |

| 19 | Je vous dis aussi, que si deux d'entre vous s'accordent sur la terre, tout ce qu'ils demanderont leur sera donné par mon Père qui est aux cieux. | Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven. | Ancora io vi dico che, se due di voi si accordano sulla terra per domandare qualunque cosa, questa sarà loro concessa dal Padre mio che è nei cieli. |
| 20 | Car là où il y en a deux ou trois assemblés en mon Nom, je suis là au milieu d'eux. | For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. | Poiché dovunque due o tre sono riuniti nel mio nome, io sono in mezzo a loro. |
| 21 | Alors Pierre s'approchant, lui dit: Seigneur, jusques à combien de fois mon frère péchera-t-il contre moi, et je lui pardonnerai? sera-ce jusqu'à sept fois? | Then came Peter and said to him, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? until seven times? | Allora Pietro, accostatosi, gli disse: Signore, se il mio fratello pecca contro di me, quante volte gli dovrò perdonare? Fino a sette volte?. |
| 22 | Jésus lui répondit: je ne te dis pas jusqu'à sept fois, mais jusqu'à sept fois septante fois. | Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven. | Gesù gli disse: Io non ti dico fino a sette volte, ma fino a settanta volte sette. |
| 23 | C'est pourquoi le Royaume des cieux est semblable à un Roi qui voulut compter avec ses serviteurs. | Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, who would make a reckoning with his servants. | Perciò il regno dei cieli è simile ad un re, il quale volle fare i conti con i suoi servi. |
| 24 | Et quand il eut commencé à compter, on lui en présenta un qui lui devait dix mille talents. | And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, that owed him ten thousand talents. | Avendo iniziato a fare i conti, gli fu presentato uno che gli era debitore di diecimila talenti. |
| 25 | Et parce qu'il n'avait pas de quoi payer, son Seigneur commanda qu'il fût vendu, lui et sa femme et ses enfants, et tout ce qu'il avait, et que la dette fût payée. | But forasmuch as he had not [wherewith] to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. | E non avendo questi di che pagare, il suo padrone comandò che fosse venduto lui con sua moglie, i suoi figli e tutto quanto aveva, perché il debito fosse saldato. |
| 26 | Mais ce serviteur se jetant à ses pieds, le suppliait, en disant: Seigneur! aie patience, et je te rendrai le tout. | The servant therefore fell down and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. | Allora quel servo, gettandosi a terra gli si prostrò davanti dicendo: "Signore, abbi pazienza con me e ti pagherò tutto" |
| 27 | Alors le Seigneur de ce serviteur, touché de compassion, le relâcha, et lui quitta la dette. | And the lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. | Mosso a compassione, il padrone di quel servo lo lasciò andare e gli condonò il debito. |
| 28 | Mais ce serviteur étant sorti, rencontra un de ses compagnons de service, qui lui devait cent deniers; et l'ayant pris, il l'étranglait, en lui disant: paye-moi ce que tu me dois. | But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow-servants, who owed him a hundred shillings: and he laid hold on him, and took [him] by the throat, saying, Pay what thou owest. | Ma quel servo, uscito fuori, incontrò uno dei suoi conservi, che gli doveva cento denari; e, afferratolo per la gola, lo soffocava dicendo: "Pagami ciò che mi devi" |
| 29 | Mais son compagnon de service se jetant à ses pieds, le priait, en disant: aie patience, et je te rendrai le tout. | So his fellow-servant fell down and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee. | Allora il suo conservo, gettandosi ai suoi piedi, lo supplicava dicendo: "Abbi pazienza con me, e ti pagherò tutto" |
| 30 | Mais il n'en voulut rien faire; et il s'en alla, et le mit en prison, jusqu'à ce qu'il eût payé la dette. | And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay that which was due. | Ma costui non volle, anzi andò e lo fece imprigionare, finché non avesse pagato il debito. |
| 31 | Or ses autres compagnons de service voyant ce qui était arrivé, en furent extrêmement touchés, et ils s'en vinrent, et déclarèrent à leur Seigneur tout ce qui s'était passé. | So when his fellow-servants saw what was done, they were exceeding sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done. | Ora gli altri servi, visto quanto era accaduto, ne furono grandemente rattristati e andarono a riferire al loro padrone tutto ciò che era accaduto. |
| 32 | Alors son Seigneur le fit venir, et lui dit: méchant serviteur, je t'ai quitté toute cette dette, parce que tu m'en as prié; | Then his lord called him unto him, and saith to him, Thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou besoughtest me: | Allora il suo padrone lo chiamò a sé e gli disse: "servo malvagio, io ti ho condonato tutto quel debito, perché mi hai supplicato. |
| 33 | Ne te fallait-il pas aussi avoir pitié de ton compagnon de service, comme j'avais eu pitié de toi? | shouldest not thou also have had mercy on thy fellow-servant, even as I had mercy on thee? | Non dovevi anche tu aver pietà del tuo conservo, come io ho avuto pietà di te?" |
| 34 | Et Son seigneur étant en colère le livra aux sergents, jusqu'à ce qu'il lui eût payé tout ce qui lui était dû. | And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due. | E il suo padrone, adiratosi, lo consegnò agli aguzzini finché non avesse pagato tutto quanto gli doveva. |
| 35 | C'est ainsi que vous fera mon Père céleste, si vous ne pardonnez de tout votre coeur chacun à son frère ses fautes. | So shall also my heavenly Father do unto you, if ye forgive not every one his brother from your hearts. | Così il mio Padre celeste farà pure a voi, se ciascuno di voi non perdona di cuore al proprio fratello i suoi falli. |
