The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. On that day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. And there were gathered unto him great multitudes, so that he entered into a boat, and sat; and all the multitude stood on the beach.
And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;Et il leur parla de beaucoup de choses en paraboles, disant : "Voici que le semeur sortit pour semer.And he spake to them many things in parables, saying, Behold, the sower went forth to sow;
And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:Et pendant qu'il semait, des (grains) tombèrent le long du chemin, et les oiseaux vinrent et les mangèrent.and as he sowed, some [seeds] fell by the way side, and the birds came and devoured them:
Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:D'autres tombèrent sur les endroits pierreux, où ils n'avaient pas beaucoup de terre, et ils levèrent aussitôt, parce que la terre était peu profonde;and others fell upon the rocky places, where they had not much earth: and straightway they sprang up, because they had no deepness of earth:
And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.mais, le soleil s'étant levé, ils furent brûlés et, parce qu'ils n'avaient pas de racine, ils se desséchèrent.and when the sun was risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:D'autres tombèrent parmi les épines, et les épines montèrent et les étouffèrent.And others fell upon the thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked them:
But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.D'autres tombèrent dans la bonne terre, et ils donnèrent du fruit, l'un cent, l'autre soixante, l'autre trente.and others fell upon the good ground, and yielded fruit, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ! "He that hath ears, let him hear.
And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. And he answered and said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he hath.
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.C'est pourquoi je leur parle en paraboles, parce que voyant ils ne voient pas, et entendant ils n'entendent ni ne comprennent.Therefore speak I to them in parables; because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:Pour eux s'accomplit la prophétie d'Isaïe qui dit : Vous entendrez de vos oreilles et vous ne comprendrez point; vous verrez de vos yeux, et vous ne verrez point.And unto them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall in no wise understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall in no wise perceive:
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. For this people`s heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest haply they should perceive with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And should turn again, And I should heal them.
But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.Pour vous, heureux vos yeux parce qu'ils voient, et vos oreilles parce qu'elles entendent !But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.
For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. For verily I say unto you, that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which ye see, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye hear, and heard them not.
Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.Vous donc, écoutez (le sens de) la parabole du semeur : Hear then ye the parable of the sower.
When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, [then] cometh the evil [one], and snatcheth away that which hath been sown in his heart. This is he that was sown by the way side.
But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;Celui qui a été semé sur des endroits pierreux, c'est celui qui entend la parole et la reçoit aussitôt avec joie;And he that was sown upon the rocky places, this is he that heareth the word, and straightway with joy receiveth it;
Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.mais il n'y a pas en lui de racines et il est éphémère; dès que survient la tribulation ou la persécution à cause de la parole, aussitôt il trébuche.yet hath he not root in himself, but endureth for a while; and when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straightway he stumbleth.
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. And he that was sown among the thorns, this is he that heareth the word; and the care of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. And he that was sown upon the good ground, this is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; who verily beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:Il leur proposa une autre parabole, disant : "Le royaume des cieux est semblable à un homme qui avait semé de bonne semence dans son champ.Another parable set he before them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man that sowed good seed in his field:
But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.Or, pendant que les hommes dormaient, son ennemi vint et sema de l'ivraie au milieu du froment par dessus, et il s'en alla.but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares also among the wheat, and went away.
But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. But when the blade sprang up and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? D'où (vient) donc qu'il s'y trouve de l'ivraie ?"And the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? whence then hath it tares?
He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?Il leur dit : "C'est un ennemi qui a fait cela."Les serviteurs lui disent : "Voulez-vous que nous allions la ramasser ? -And he said unto them, An enemy hath done this. And the servants say unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. But he saith, Nay; lest haply while ye gather up the tares, ye root up the wheat with them.
Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.Laissez croître ensemble l'un et l'autre jusqu'à la moisson, et au temps de la moisson je dirai aux moissonneurs : Ramassez d'abord l'ivraie, et liez-la en bottes pour la brûler; quant au froment, amassez-le dans mon grenier."Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather up first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:Il leur proposa une autre parabole, disant : "Le royaume de cieux est semblable à un grain de sénevé, qu'un homme a pris et a semé dans son champ.Another parable set he before them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like unto a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.C'est la plus petite de toutes les semences; mais, lorsqu'il a poussé, il est plus grand que les plantes potagères et devient un arbre, de sorte que les oiseaux du ciel viennent nicher dans ses branches."which indeed is less than all seeds; but when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the heaven come and lodge in the branches thereof.
Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till it was all leavened.
All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:Jésus dit aux foules toutes ces choses en paraboles, et il ne leur disait rien sans parabole, All these things spake Jesus in parables unto the multitudes; and without a parable spake he nothing unto them:
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.pour que s'accomplît la parole dite par le prophète : J'ouvrirai ma bouche en paraboles, je proférerai des choses cachées depuis la création du monde.that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.
Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. Then he left the multitudes, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Explain unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;Il répondit : "Celui qui sème la bonne semence, c'est le Fils de l'homme;And he answered and said, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;le champ, c'est le monde; la bonne semence, ce sont les fils du royaume; l'ivraie, ce sont les fils du Malin;and the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil [one];
The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.l'ennemi qui l'a semée, c'est le diable; la moisson, c'est consommation du siècle; les moissonneurs, ce sont les anges.and the enemy that sowed them is the devil: and the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are angels.
As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. As therefore the tares are gathered up and burned with fire; so shall it be in the end of the world.
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;Le Fils de l'homme enverra ses anges, et ils enlèveront de son royaume tous les scandales et ceux qui commettent l'iniquité, The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and them that do iniquity,
And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.et ils les jetteront dans la fournaise du feu : c'est là qu'il y aura les pleurs et le grincement de dents.and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Que celui qui a des oreilles entende !Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He that hath ears, let him hear.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in the field; which a man found, and hid; and in his joy he goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:Encore : le royaume des cieux est semblable à un marchand qui cherchait de belles perles.Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a merchant seeking goodly pearls:
Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.Ayant trouvé une perle de grand prix, il s'en alla vendre tout ce qu'il avait, et il l'acheta.and having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:Encore : le royaume des cieux est semblable à un filet qu'on a jeté dans la mer et qui a ramené (des poissons) de toute sorte.Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.Lorsqu'il fut rempli, (les pêcheurs) le tirèrent au rivage et, s'étant assis, ils recueillirent les bons dans des paniers et rejetèrent les mauvais.which, when it was filled, they drew up on the beach; and they sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but the bad they cast away.
So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,Ainsi en sera-t-il à la consommation du siècle : les anges sortiront et sépareront les méchants d'avec les justes, So shall it be in the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the righteous,
And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.et ils les jetteront dans la fournaise du feu; c'est là qu'il y aura les pleurs et le grincement de dents.and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.Avez-vous compris toutes ces choses ?"Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea.
Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old. And he said unto them, Therefore every scribe who hath been made a disciple to the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a householder, who bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence. And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.
And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? And coming into his own country he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?N'est-ce pas le fils du charpentier ? Sa mère ne s'appelle-t-elle pas Marie, et ses frères Jacques, Joseph, Simon et Judas ?Is not this the carpenter`s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas?
And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? D'où lui vient donc tout cela ?"And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.
And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
