| 4 | car on l'avait souvent lié avec des entraves et des chaînes, et il avait brisé les chaînes et broyé les entraves, et personne n'était capable de le dompter. | because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been rent asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: and no man had strength to tame him. | Infatti più volte era stato legato con ceppi e con catene; ma egli aveva sempre spezzato le catene e infranto i ceppi; e nessuno era riuscito a domarlo. |
| 5 | Continuellement, de nuit et de jour, il était dans les tombeaux et sur les montagnes, poussant des cris et se meurtrissant avec des pierres. | And always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself with stones. | Continuamente, notte e giorno, fra i sepolcri e su per i monti, andava gridando e picchiandosi con pietre. |
| 6 | Ayant aperçu Jésus de loin, il accourut, se prosterna devant lui, et, | And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshipped him; | Ora, quando vide Gesù da lontano, egli accorse e gli si prostrò davanti, |
| 7 | ayant poussé des cris, il dit d'une voix forte : "Qu'avons-nous affaire ensemble, Jésus, fils du Dieu très haut ? Je vous adjure, par Dieu, ne me tourmentez point." | and crying out with a loud voice, he saith, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the Most High God? I adjure thee by God, torment me not. | e dando un gran grido, disse: Che c'è fra me e te, Gesù Figlio del Dio altissimo? Io ti scongiuro, in nome di Dio, di non tormentarmi!. |
| 8 | C'est qu'il lui disait : "Esprit impur, sors de cet homme." | For he said unto him, Come forth, thou unclean spirit, out of the man. | Perché egli gli diceva: Spirito immondo, esci da quest'uomo!. |
| 9 | Et il lui demanda : "Quel est ton nom ?"Et il lui dit : "Mon nom est Légion, car nous sommes nombreux." | And he asked him, What is thy name? And he saith unto him, My name is Legion; for we are many. | Poi Gesù gli domandò: Qual è il tuo nome?. E quello rispose, dicendo: Io mi chiamo Legione, perché siamo molti. |
| 10 | Et il le priait instamment de ne pas les envoyer hors du pays. | And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. | E lo supplicava con insistenza perché non li mandasse fuori da quella regione. |
| 11 | Or, il y avait là, près de la montagne, un grand troupeau de porcs qui paissaient. | Now there was there on the mountain side a great herd of swine feeding. | Or vi era là, sul pendio del monte, un grande branco di porci che pascolava. |
| 12 | Et ils lui firent cette prière : "Envoyez-nous dans les porcs, afin que nous entrions dedans." | And they besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. | Allora tutti i demoni lo pregarono, dicendo: Mandaci nei porci, perché entriamo in essi. |
| 13 | Il le leur permit; et les esprits impurs sortirent et entrèrent dans les porcs, et le troupeau, (qui était) d'environ deux mille, se précipita par les pentes escarpées dans la mer, et ils se noyèrent dans la mer. | And he gave them leave. And the unclean spirits came out, and entered into the swine: and the herd rushed down the steep into the sea, [in number] about two thousand; and they were drowned in the sea. | E Gesù prontamente lo permise loro; allora gli spiriti immondi, usciti, entrarono nei porci e il branco si precipitò giù per il dirupo nel mare, erano circa duemila, e affogarono nel mare. |
| 14 | Ceux qui les gardaient s'enfuirent, et ils racontèrent (la chose) dans la ville et dans la compagne. Et on vint voir ce qui était arrivé. | And they that fed them fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they came to see what it was that had come to pass. | Allora quelli che custodivano i porci fuggirono e diffusero la notizia in città e per le campagne; e la gente venne a vedere ciò che era accaduto. |
| 15 | Ils viennent à Jésus et voient le démoniaque, lui qui avait eu la Légion, assis, vêtu et dans son bon sens : ils furent saisis de frayeur. | And they come to Jesus, and behold him that was possessed with demons sitting, clothed and in his right mind, [even] him that had the legion: and they were afraid. | Giunti che furono da Gesù, videro l'indemoniato seduto, vestito e sano di mente, lui che era stato posseduto dalla Legione, ed ebbero paura. |
| 16 | Et ceux qui avaient vu leur firent le récit de ce qui était arrivé au possédé et aux porcs. | And they that saw it declared unto them how it befell him that was possessed with demons, and concerning the swine. | E quelli che avevano visto l'accaduto, raccontarono loro ciò che era successo all'indemoniato e il fatto dei porci. |
| 17 | Alors ils se mirent à le supplier de s'éloigner de leur territoire. | And they began to beseech him to depart from their borders. | Allora essi cominciarono a pregarlo che se ne andasse dal loro territorio. |
| 18 | Comme il montait dans la barque, celui qui avait été possédé du démon le suppliait pour rester avec lui. | And as he was entering into the boat, he that had been possessed with demons besought him that he might be with him. | Mentre egli saliva sulla barca, colui che era stato indemoniato lo pregava di poter rimanere con lui |
| 19 | Il ne le lui permit pas, mais il lui dit : "Va dans ta maison, auprès des tiens, et raconte-leur tout ce que le Seigneur a fait pour toi, et comment il a eu pitié de toi." | And he suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go to thy house unto thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and [how] he had mercy on thee. | ma Gesù non glielo permise; gli disse invece: Va' a casa tua dai tuoi e racconta loro quali grandi cose il Signore ti ha fatto e come ha avuto pietà di te. |
| 20 | Il s'en alla et se mit à publier dans la Décapole tout ce que Jésus avait fait pour lui, et tous étaient dans l'admiration. | And he went his way, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men marvelled. | Egli se ne andò e cominciò a predicare per la Decapoli tutto quanto Gesù gli aveva fatto; tutti restavano meravigliati. |
| 21 | Jésus ayant de nouveau traversé la mer dans la barque, une grande foule s'assembla autour de lui; et il était au bord de la mer. | And when Jesus had crossed over again in the boat unto the other side, a great multitude was gathered unto him; and he was by the sea. | E, quando Gesù passò nuovamente all'altra riva in barca, una grande folla si radunò intorno a lui; ed egli se ne stava in riva al mare. |
| 22 | Alors vient un des chefs de synagogue, nommé Jaïre, qui en le voyant, tombe à ses pieds | And there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and seeing him, he falleth at his feet, | Allora venne uno dei capi della sinagoga, di nome Iairo, il quale vedutolo, gli si gettò ai piedi, |
| 23 | et le supplie avec instance, disant : "Ma fillette est à l'extrémité; venez, imposez-lui les mains sur elle, afin qu'elle soit guérie et qu'elle vive." | and beseecheth him much, saying, My little daughter is at the point of death: [I pray thee], that thou come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be made whole, and live. | e lo pregò con molta insistenza, dicendo: La mia figliola è agli estremi; vieni a imporle le mani, affinché sia guarita e viva. |
| 24 | Et il s'en alla avec lui, et une foule nombreuse le suivait, et on le pressait. | And he went with him; and a great multitude followed him, and they thronged him. | Ed egli se ne andò con lui. Una grande folla lo seguiva e gli si stringeva intorno. |
| 25 | Or une femme qui avait un flux de sang depuis douze ans, | And a woman, who had an issue of blood twelve years, | Ora una donna che aveva un flusso di sangue già da dodici anni |
| 26 | et avait beaucoup souffert du fait de nombreux médecins, et avait dépensé tout son bien sans aucun profit mais plutôt pour aller plus mal, | and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, | e aveva molto sofferto da parte di parecchi medici, spendendo tutti i suoi averi senza alcun giovamento, anzi piuttosto peggiorando, |
| 27 | ayant entendu parler de Jésus, vint dans la foule, par derrière, et toucha son vêtement. | having heard the things concerning Jesus, came in the crowd behind, and touched his garment. | avendo sentito parlare di Gesù, venne tra la folla alle sue spalle e toccò il suo vestito, |
| 28 | Car elle disait : "Si je touche seulement ses vêtements, je serai guérie." | For she said, If I touch but his garments, I shall be made whole. | poiché diceva: Se solo tocco le sue vesti sarò guarita. |
| 29 | Aussitôt la source (du flux) de sang fut tarie, et elle connut en son corps qu'elle était guérie de son infirmité. | And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her plague. | E immediatamente il flusso del suo sangue si stagnò, ed ella sentì nel suo corpo di essere guarita da quel male. |
| 30 | Et aussitôt Jésus eut conscience en lui-même de la vertu qui était sortie de lui, et se retournant dans la foule, il dit : "Qui a touché mes vêtements ?" | And straightway Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power [proceeding] from him had gone forth, turned him about in the crowd, and said, Who touched my garments? | Ma subito Gesù, avvertendo in se stesso che una potenza era uscita da lui, voltatosi nella folla, disse: Chi mi ha toccato i vestiti?. |
| 31 | Ses disciples lui dirent : "Vous voyez la foule qui vous presse, et vous dites : Qui m'a touché ?" | And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? | E i suoi discepoli gli dissero: Non vedi che la folla ti stringe da ogni parte e tu dici: "chi mi ha toccato?". |
| 32 | Et il regardait tout autour pour voir celle qui avait fait cela. | And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. | Ma egli guardava intorno per vedere colei che aveva fatto ciò. |
| 33 | Et la femme, saisie de crainte et tremblante, sachant ce qui s'était passé en elle, vint se jeter à ses pieds, et lui dit toute la vérité. | But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. | Allora la donna, paurosa e tremante, sapendo quanto era avvenuto in lei, venne e gli si gettò ai piedi e gli disse tutta la verità. |
| 34 | Il lui dit : "Ma fille, ta foi t'a guérie; va en paix, et sois indemne de ton infirmité." | And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. | Ma egli le disse: Figliola, la tua fede ti ha guarita; va' in pace e sii guarita dal tuo male. |
| 35 | Il parlait encore, lorsqu'on vient de la maison du chef de synagogue dire : Ta fille est morte, pourquoi importuner davantage le Maître ? | While he yet spake, they come from the ruler of the synagogue`s [house] saying, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Teacher any further? | Mentre egli stava ancora parlando, vennero alcuni dalla casa del capo della sinagoga, dicendo: La tua figlia è morta; perché importuni ancora il Maestro?. |
| 36 | Mais Jésus, ayant surpris la parole qui venait d'être prononcée, dit au chef de synagogue : "Ne crains pas, crois seulement." | But Jesus, not heeding the word spoken, saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not, only believe. | Ma Gesù, appena intese ciò che si diceva, disse al capo della sinagoga: Non temere, credi solamente!. |
| 37 | Et il ne laissa personne l'accompagner, si ce n'est Pierre, Jacques et Jean, le frère de Jacques. | And he suffered no man to follow with him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. | E non permise che alcuno lo seguisse, all'infuori di Pietro, Giacomo e Giovanni, fratello di Giacomo. |
| 38 | On arrive à la maison du chef de synagogue, et il voit du tumulte et des gens qui pleurent et poussent de grands cris. | And they come to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and he beholdeth a tumult, and [many] weeping and wailing greatly. | E, giunto a casa del capo della sinagoga, vide un gran trambusto e gente che piangeva e urlava forte. |
| 39 | Il entre et leur dit : "Pourquoi ce tumulte et ces pleurs ? L'enfant n'est pas morte, mais elle dort." | And when he was entered in, he saith unto them, Why make ye a tumult, and weep? the child is not dead, but sleepeth. | Ed entrato, disse loro: Perché fate tanto chiasso e piangete? La fanciulla non è morta, ma dorme, |
| 40 | Et ils se moquaient de lui. Mais lui, les ayant tous fait sortir, prit avec lui le père et la mère de l'enfant, et ceux qui l'accompagnaient, et il entra là où l'enfant était [étendue]. | And they laughed him to scorn. But he, having put them all forth, taketh the father of the child and her mother and them that were with him, and goeth in where the child was. | E quelli lo deridevano, ma egli, messili tutti fuori, prese con sé il padre, la madre della fanciulla e coloro che erano con lui, ed entrò là dove giaceva la fanciulla. |
| 41 | Et prenant la main de l'enfant, il lui dit : "Talitha qoum, "ce qui se traduit : "Jeune fille, je te le dis, lève-toi ! " | And taking the child by the hand, he saith unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, Arise. | Quindi presa la fanciulla per mano, le disse: Talitha cumi; che tradotto vuol dire: Fanciulla, ti dico: Alzati!. |
| 42 | Aussitôt la jeune fille se leva et se mit à marcher; elle avait en effet douze ans. Et aussitôt ils furent frappés de stupeur. | And straightway the damsel rose up, and walked; for she was twelve years old. And they were amazed straightway with a great amazement. | E subito la fanciulla si alzò e si mise a camminare; ella aveva infatti dodici anni. Ed essi furono presi da un grande stupore. |
| 43 | Et il leur recommanda fortement que personne ne le sût; puis il dit de lui donner à manger. | And he charged them much that no man should know this: and he commanded that [something] should be given her to eat. | Ma egli comandò loro con fermezza che nessuno lo venisse a sapere; poi ordinò che si desse da mangiare alla fanciulla. |
