2	Pilate l'interrogea : Es-tu le roi des Juifs ? Jésus lui répondit : Tu le dis.	Et Pilate l'interrogea: Toi, tu es le roi des Juifs? Et répondant, il lui dit: Tu le dis. 3	Les principaux sacrificateurs portaient contre lui plusieurs accusations.	Et les principaux sacrificateurs l'accusaient de beaucoup de choses.	And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.	And the chief priests accused him of many things.
4	Pilate l'interrogea de nouveau : Ne réponds-tu rien ? Vois de combien de choses ils t'accusent.	Et Pilate l'interrogea encore, disant: Ne réponds-tu rien? Vois de combien de choses ils portent témoignage contre toi.	And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee. 5	Et Jésus ne fit plus aucune réponse, ce qui étonna Pilate.	Mais encore Jésus ne répondit rien, de sorte que Pilate s'en étonnait.	But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.	But Jesus no more answered anything; insomuch that Pilate marvelled.
6	A chaque fête, il relâchait un prisonnier, celui que demandait la foule.	Or il leur relâchait à la fête un prisonnier, lequel que ce fût qu'ils demandassent.	Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired.	Now at the feast he used to release unto them one prisoner, whom they asked of him.
7	Il y avait en prison un nommé Barabbas avec ses complices, pour un meurtre qu'ils avaient commis dans une sédition.	Et il y avait le nommé Barabbas qui était détenu avec ses compagnons de sédition, lesquels, dans la sédition, avaient commis un meurtre.	And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.	And there was one called Barabbas, [lying] bound with them that had made insurrection, men who in the insurrection had committed murder.
8	La foule, étant montée, se mit à demander ce qu'il avait coutume de leur accorder.	Et la foule, poussant des cris, se mit à lui demander de faire comme il leur avait toujours fait.	And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them.	And the multitude went up and began to ask him [to do] as he was wont to do unto them.
9	Pilate leur répondit : Voulez-vous que je vous relâche le roi des Juif ?	Et Pilate leur répondit, disant: Voulez-vous que je vous relâche le roi des Juifs?	But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?	And Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
10	Car il savait que c'était par envie que les principaux sacrificateurs l'avaient livré.	Car il savait que les principaux sacrificateurs l'avaient livré par envie.	For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.	For he perceived that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up.
11	Mais les chefs des sacrificateurs excitèrent la foule, afin que Pilate leur relâchât plutôt Barabbas. 12	Pilate, reprenant la parole, leur dit : Que voulez-vous donc que je fasse de celui que vous appelez le roi des Juifs ?	Et Pilate, répondant leur dit encore: Que voulez-vous donc que je fasse de celui que vous appelez roi des Juifs?	And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews? 13	Ils crièrent de nouveau : Crucifie-le !	Et ils s'écrièrent encore: Crucifie-le!	And they cried out again, Crucify him.	And they cried out again, Crucify him.
14	Pilate leur dit : Quel mal a-t-il fait ? Et ils crièrent encore plus fort : Crucifie-le !	Et Pilate leur dit: Mais quel mal a-t-il fait? Et ils s'écrièrent encore plus fort: Crucifie-le! 15	Pilate, voulant satisfaire la foule, leur relâcha Barabbas ; et, après avoir fait battre de verges Jésus, il le livra pour être crucifié. And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified. 16	Les soldats conduisirent Jésus dans l'intérieur de la cour, c'est-à-dire, dans le prétoire, et ils assemblèrent toute la cohorte.	Et les soldats l'emmenèrent dans la cour, qui est le prétoire. Et ils assemblent toute la cohorte;	And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. 19	Et ils lui frappaient la tête avec un roseau, crachaient sur lui, et, fléchissant les genoux, ils se prosternaient devant lui. And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him. 20	Après s'être ainsi moqués de lui, ils lui ôtèrent la pourpre, lui remirent ses vêtements, et l'emmenèrent pour le crucifier.	Et après qu'ils se furent moqués de lui, ils le dépouillèrent de la pourpre et le revêtirent de ses propres vêtements; et ils l'emmènent dehors pour le crucifier.	And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him. 21	Ils forcèrent à porter la croix de Jésus un passant qui revenait des champs, Simon de Cyrène, père d'Alexandre et de Rufus ;	Et ils contraignent un certain homme, Simon, Cyrénéen, père d'Alexandre et de Rufus, qui passait par là, venant des champs, de porter sa croix.	And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross. 22	et ils conduisirent Jésus au lieu nommé Golgotha, ce qui signifie lieu du crâne.	Et ils le mènent au lieu appelé Golgotha, ce qui, interprété, est: lieu du crâne. 24	Ils le crucifièrent, et se partagèrent ses vêtements, en tirant au sort pour savoir ce que chacun aurait. And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take. 28	Ainsi fut accompli ce que dit l'Écriture : Il a été mis au nombre des malfaiteurs.	Et l'écriture fut accomplie, qui dit: "Et il a été compté parmi les iniques".	And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.	[And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was reckoned with transgressors.]
29	Les passants l'injuriaient, et secouaient la tête, en disant : Hé ! toi qui détruis le temple, et qui le rebâtis en trois jours,	Et ceux qui passaient par là, l'injuriaient, hochant la tête et disant: Hé! toi qui détruis le temple et qui le bâtis en trois jours,	And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,	And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ha! 31	Les principaux sacrificateurs aussi, avec les scribes, se moquaient entre eux, et disaient : Il a sauvé les autres, et il ne peut se sauver lui-même ! Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. 32	Que le Christ, le roi d'Israël, descende maintenant de la croix, afin que nous voyions et que nous croyions ! Ceux qui étaient crucifiés avec lui l'insultaient aussi. 33	La sixième heure étant venue, il y eut des ténèbres sur toute la terre, jusqu'à la neuvième heure.	Et quand la sixième heure fut venue, il y eut des ténèbres sur tout le pays jusqu'à la neuvième heure.	And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. 34	Et à la neuvième heure, Jésus s'écria d'une voix forte : Éloï, Éloï, lama sabachthani ? ce qui signifie : Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné ?	Et à la neuvième heure, Jésus s'écria d'une forte voix, disant: Éloï, Éloï, lama sabachthani? ce qui, interprété, est: Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné?	And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? 35	Quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là, l'ayant entendu, dirent : Voici, il appelle Élie.	Et quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là présents, ayant entendu cela, disaient: Voici, il appelle Élie.	And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.	And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elijah.
36	Et l'un d'eux courut remplir une éponge de vinaigre, et, l'ayant fixée à un roseau, il lui donna à boire, en disant : Laissez, voyons si Élie viendra le descendre.	Et l'un d'eux courut, et ayant rempli une éponge de vinaigre et l'ayant mise au bout d'un roseau, il lui donna à boire, disant: Laissez, voyons si Élie vient pour le faire descendre.	And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down. And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
