| 1 | Et d'abord au matin les principaux Sacrificateurs avec les Anciens et les Scribes, et tout le Consistoire, ayant tenu conseil, firent lier Jésus, et l'emmenèrent, et le livrèrent à Pilate. | And straightway in the morning the chief priests with the elders and scribes, and the whole council, held a consultation, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate. | E al mattino presto, i capi dei sacerdoti con gli anziani, gli scribi e tutto il sinedrio, tenuto consiglio, legarono Gesù, lo portarono via e lo consegnarono a Pilato. |
| 2 | Et Pilate l'interrogea, disant: es-tu le Roi des Juifs? Et Jésus répondant lui dit: tu le dis. | And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering saith unto him, Thou sayest. | E Pilato gli domandò: Sei tu il re dei Giudei?. Ed egli, rispondendo, gli disse: Tu lo dici. |
| 3 | Or les principaux Sacrificateurs l'accusaient de plusieurs choses, mais il ne répondit rien. | And the chief priests accused him of many things. | E i capi dei sacerdoti lo accusavano di molte cose; ma egli non rispondeva nulla. |
| 4 | Et Pilate l'interrogea encore, disant: ne réponds-tu rien? vois combien de choses ils déposent contre toi. | And Pilate again asked him, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they accuse thee of. | Pilato lo interrogò di nuovo, dicendo: Non rispondi nulla? Vedi di quante cose ti accusano?. |
| 5 | Mais Jésus ne répondit rien non plus; de sorte que Pilate s'en étonnait. | But Jesus no more answered anything; insomuch that Pilate marvelled. | Ma Gesù non rispose più nulla, tanto che Pilato ne rimase meravigliato. |
| 6 | Or il leur relâchait à la Fête un prisonnier, lequel que ce fût qu'ils demandassent. | Now at the feast he used to release unto them one prisoner, whom they asked of him. | Or ad ogni festa era solito rilasciare loro un prigioniero, chiunque essi chiedessero. |
| 7 | Et il y en avait un, nommé Barabbas, qui était prisonnier avec ses complices pour une sédition, dans laquelle ils avaient commis un meurtre. | And there was one called Barabbas, [lying] bound with them that had made insurrection, men who in the insurrection had committed murder. | Vi era allora in prigione un tale chiamato Barabba, insieme ad altri compagni ribelli, i quali avevano commesso un omicidio durante una sommossa. |
| 8 | Et le peuple criant tout haut, se mit à demander à Pilate qu'il fît comme il leur avait toujours fait. | And the multitude went up and began to ask him [to do] as he was wont to do unto them. | E la folla, gridando, cominciò a domandare che facesse come aveva sempre fatto per loro. |
| 9 | Mais Pilate leur répondit, en disant: voulez-vous que je vous relâche le Roi des Juifs? | And Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? | Allora Pilato rispose loro, dicendo: Volete che vi liberi il re dei Giudei?. |
| 10 | (Car il savait bien que les principaux Sacrificateurs l'avaient livré par envie.) | For he perceived that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up. | Perché sapeva che i capi dei sacerdoti glielo avevano consegnato per invidia. |
| 11 | Mais les principaux Sacrificateurs excitèrent le peuple à demander que plutôt il relâchât Barabbas. | But the chief priests stirred up the multitude, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them. | Ma i capi dei sacerdoti incitarono la folla a chiedere piuttosto che liberasse loro Barabba. |
| 12 | Et Pilate répondant, leur dit encore: que voulez-vous donc que je fasse de celui que vous appelez Roi des Juifs? | And Pilate again answered and said unto them, What then shall I do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews? | E Pilato, prendendo di nuovo la parola, disse loro: Che volete dunque che faccia di colui che voi chiamate il re dei Giudei?. |
| 13 | Et ils s'écrièrent encore: crucifie-le. | And they cried out again, Crucify him. | Ed essi gridarono di nuovo: Crocifiggilo!. |
| 14 | Alors Pilate leur dit: mais quel mal a-t-il fait? et ils s'écrièrent encore plus fort: crucifie-le. | And Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out exceedingly, Crucify him. | E Pilato disse loro: Ma che male ha fatto?. Essi allora gridarono ancora più forte: Crocifiggilo!. |
| 15 | Pilate donc voulant contenter le peuple, leur relâcha Barabbas; et après avoir fait fouetter Jésus, il le livra pour être crucifié. | And Pilate, wishing to content the multitude, released unto them Barabbas, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified. | Perciò Pilato, volendo soddisfare la folla, liberò loro Barabba. E, dopo aver flagellato Gesù, lo consegnò loro perché fosse crocifisso. |
| 16 | Alors les soldats l'emmenèrent dans la cour, qui est le Prétoire, et toute la cohorte s'étant là assemblée, | And the soldiers led him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. | Allora i soldati lo condussero nel cortile interno, cioè nel pretorio, e convocarono l'intera coorte. |
| 17 | Ils le vêtirent d'une robe de pourpre, et ayant fait une couronne d'épines entrelacées l'une dans l'autre, ils la lui mirent sur la tête; | And they clothe him with purple, and platting a crown of thorns, they put it on him; | Lo vestirono di porpora e, intrecciata una corona di spine, gliela misero sul capo. |
| 18 | Puis ils commencèrent à le saluer, en lui disant: nous te saluons, Roi des Juifs; | and they began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! | Cominciarono poi a salutarlo dicendo: Salve, re dei Giudei!. |
| 19 | Et ils lui frappaient la tête avec un roseau, et crachaient contre lui; et se mettant à genoux, ils se prosternaient devant lui. | And they smote his head with a reed, and spat upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him. | E gli percuotevano il capo con una canna, gli sputavano addosso e, piegando le ginocchia, lo adoravano. |
| 20 | Et après s'être ainsi moqués de lui, ils le dépouillèrent de la robe de pourpre, et le revêtirent de ses habits, et l'emmenèrent dehors pour le crucifier. | And when they had mocked him, they took off from him the purple, and put on him his garments. And they lead him out to crucify him. | Dopo averlo schernito, lo spogliarono della porpora e lo rivestirono delle sue vesti, poi lo portarono fuori per crocifiggerlo. |
| 21 | Et ils contraignirent un certain homme, nommé Simon, Cyrénéen, père d'Alexandre et de Rufus, qui passait par là, revenant des champs, de porter sa croix. | And they compel one passing by, Simon of Cyrene, coming from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go [with them], that he might bear his cross. | E costrinsero un passante, un certo Simone di Cirene che tornava dalla campagna, padre di Alessandro e di Rufo, perché portasse la sua croce. |
| 22 | Et ils le menèrent au lieu appelé Golgotha, c'est-à-dire, le lieu du Crâne. | And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull. | Poi condussero Gesù al luogo detto Golgota che significa: Luogo del teschio. |
| 23 | Et ils lui donnèrent à boire du vin mixtionné avec de la myrrhe; mais il ne le prit point. | And they offered him wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not. | Gli diedero da bere del vino mescolato con mirra, ma egli non lo prese. |
| 24 | Et quand ils l'eurent crucifié, ils partagèrent ses vêtements, en les jetant au sort pour savoir ce que chacun en aurait. | And they crucify him, and part his garments among them, casting lots upon them, what each should take. | E, dopo averlo crocifisso, spartirono le sue vesti, tirandole a sorte, per sapere che cosa toccasse a ciascuno. |
| 25 | Or il était trois heures quand ils le crucifièrent. | And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. | Era l'ora terza quando lo crocifissero. |
| 26 | Et l'écriteau contenant la cause de sa condamnation était: LE ROI DES JUIFS. | And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS. | E l'iscrizione che indicava il motivo della condanna, posta sopra lui, diceva: "il re dei Giudei" |
| 27 | Ils crucifièrent aussi avec lui deux brigands, l'un à sa main droite, et l'autre à sa gauche. | And with him they crucify two robbers; one on his right hand, and one on his left. | Crocifissero pure con lui due ladroni, uno alla sua destra e l'altro alla sua sinistra. |
| 28 | Et ainsi fut accomplie l'Ecriture, qui dit: Et il a été mis au rang des malfaiteurs. | [And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was reckoned with transgressors.] | Così si adempì la Scrittura che dice: Egli è stato annoverato fra i malfattori. |
| 29 | Et ceux qui passaient près de là lui disaient des outrages, branlant la tête, et disant: Hé! toi, qui détruis le Temple, et qui le rebâtis en trois jours, | And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ha! Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, | E coloro che passavano lì vicino lo ingiuriavano, scuotendo il capo e dicendo: Eh, tu che distruggi il tempio e in tre giorni lo riedifichi |
| 30 | Sauve-toi toi-même, et descends de la croix. | save thyself, and come down from the cross. | salva te stesso e scendi giù dalla croce!. |
| 31 | Les principaux Sacrificateurs se moquant aussi avec les Scribes disaient entre eux: il a sauvé les autres, il ne peut se sauver lui-même. | In like manner also the chief priests mocking [him] among themselves with the scribes said, He saved others; himself he cannot save. | Similmente anche i capi dei sacerdoti con gli scribi, beffandosi, dicevano tra di loro: Egli ha salvato gli altri, e non può salvare se stesso. |
| 32 | Que le Christ, le Roi d’Israël descende maintenant de la croix, afin que nous le voyions et que nous croyions! Ceux aussi qui étaient crucifiés avec lui, lui disaient des outrages. | Let the Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reproached him. | Il Cristo, il re d'Israele, scenda ora dalla croce, affinché lo vediamo e crediamo. Anche quelli che erano stati crocifissi con lui, lo ingiuriavano. |
| 33 | Mais quand il fut six heures, il y eut des ténèbres sur tout le pays jusqu'à neuf heures. | And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. | Poi, venuta l'ora sesta, si fece buio su tutto il paese fino all'ora nona. |
| 34 | Et à neuf heures Jésus cria à haute voix, disant: Eloï, Eloï, lamma sabachthani? c'est-à-dire: Mon Dieu! Mon Dieu! pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné? | And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? | E all'ora nona, Gesù gridò a gran voce: Eloì, Eloì, lammà sabactanì?. Che, tradotto vuol dire: Dio mio, Dio mio, perché mi hai abbandonato?.. |
| 35 | Ce que quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là présents, ayant entendu, ils dirent: voilà, il appelle Elie. | And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elijah. | E alcuni degli astanti, udito ciò, dicevano: Ecco, egli chiama Elia!. |
| 36 | Et quelqu'un accourut, qui remplit une éponge de vinaigre, et qui l'ayant mise au bout d'un roseau, lui en donna à boire, en disant: laissez, voyons si Elie viendra pour l'ôter de la croix. | And one ran, and filling a sponge full of vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let be; let us see whether Elijah cometh to take him down. | Allora uno di loro accorse, inzuppò una spugna nell'aceto e, postala su una canna, gli diede da bere, dicendo: Lasciate, vediamo se viene Elia a tirarlo giù. |
| 37 | Et Jésus ayant jeté un grand cri, rendit l'esprit. | And Jesus uttered a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. | Ma Gesù, emesso un forte grido, rese lo spirito. |
| 38 | Et le voile du Temple se déchira en deux, depuis le haut jusqu'en bas. | And the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom. | Allora il velo del tempio, si squarciò in due, dall'alto in basso. |
| 39 | Et le Centenier qui était là vis-à-vis de lui, voyant qu'il avait rendu l'esprit en criant ainsi, dit: certainement cet homme était Fils de Dieu. | And when the centurion, who stood by over against him, saw that he so gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God. | E il centurione che stava di fronte a Gesù, visto che dopo aver gridato così aveva reso lo spirito, disse: Veramente quest'uomo era Figlio di Dio. |
| 40 | Il y avait là aussi des femmes qui regardaient de loin, entre lesquelles étaient Marie-Magdeleine, et Marie mère de Jacques le mineur, et de Joses, et Salomé. | And there were also women beholding from afar: among whom [were] both Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; | Vi erano pure delle donne che guardavano da lontano, fra di esse vi erano Maria Maddalena e Maria madre di Giacomo il minore e di Iose e Salome |
| 41 | Qui lorsqu'il était en Galilée, l'avaient suivi, et l'avaient servi; il y avait là aussi plusieurs autres femmes qui étaient montées avec lui à Jérusalem. | who, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him; and many other women that came up with him unto Jerusalem. | che lo seguivano e lo servivano quando era in Galilea; e ce n'erano molte altre che erano salite con lui a Gerusalemme. |
| 42 | Et le soir étant déjà venu, parce que c'était la Préparation qui est avant le Sabbat; | And when even was now come, because it was the Preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, | Poi, avvicinandosi ormai la sera, poiché era la Preparazione, cioè la vigilia del sabato, |
| 43 | Joseph d'Arimathée, Conseiller honorable, qui attendait aussi le Règne de Dieu, s'étant enhardi, vint à Pilate, et lui demanda le corps de Jésus. | there came Joseph of Arimathaea, a councillor of honorable estate, who also himself was looking for the kingdom of God; and he boldly went in unto Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus. | Giuseppe d'Arimatea, un rispettabile membro del consiglio, che aspettava anch'egli il regno di Dio, andò coraggiosamente da Pilato e domandò il corpo di Gesù. |
| 44 | Et Pilate s'étonna qu'il fût déjà mort; et ayant appelé le Centenier, il lui demanda s'il y avait longtemps qu'il était mort. | And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead. | E Pilato si meravigliò che fosse già morto. E, chiamato il centurione, gli domandò se fosse morto da molto tempo. |
| 45 | Ce qu'ayant appris du Centenier, il donna le corps à Joseph. | And when he learned it of the centurion, he granted the corpse to Joseph. | E, rassicurato dal centurione, concesse il corpo a Giuseppe. |
| 46 | Et Joseph ayant acheté un linceul, le descendit de la croix, et l'enveloppa du linceul, et le mit dans un sépulcre qui était taillé dans le roc, puis il roula une pierre sur l'entrée du sépulcre. | And he bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb which had been hewn out of a rock; and he rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. | E questi, comperato un lenzuolo e deposto Gesù dalla croce, lo avvolse nel lenzuolo e lo mise in un sepolcro che era stato scavato nella roccia; poi rotolò una pietra davanti all'entrata del sepolcro. |
| 47 | Et Marie-Magdeleine, et Marie mère de Joses regardaient où on le mettait. | And Mary Magdalene and Mary the [mother] of Joses beheld where he was laid. | E Maria Maddalena e Maria, madre di Iose, osservavano dove egli veniva deposto. |
