| 2 | Jésus lui répondit : "Tu vois ces grandes constructions ? Il n'y sera pas laissé pierre sur pierre qui ne soit renversée." | And Jesus said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left here one stone upon another, which shall not be thrown down. |
| 3 | Lorsqu'il se fut assis sur la montagne des Oliviers, en face du temple, Pierre, Jacques, Jean et André l'interrogèrent à part : | And as he sat on the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, |
| 4 | "Dites-nous quand ces choses arriveront, et quel sera le signe, quand toutes ces choses seront près de s'accomplir ?" | Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign when these things are all about to be accomplished? |
| 5 | Jésus se mit à leur dire : "Prenez garde que nul ne vous induise en erreur. | And Jesus began to say unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray. |
| 6 | Car beaucoup viendront sous mon nom, disant : "C'est moi ! "et ils en induiront un grand nombre en erreur. | Many shall come in my name, saying, I am [he]; and shall lead many astray. |
| 7 | Quand vous entendrez parler de guerres et de bruits de guerres, n'en soyez pas troublés; car il faut que cela arrive; mais ce n'est pas encore la fin. | And when ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be not troubled: [these things] must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet. |
| 8 | En effet on se dressera nation contre nation, royaume contre royaume; il y aura des tremblements de terre par endroits; il y aura des famines : c'est le commencement des douleurs. | For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there shall be earthquakes in divers places; there shall be famines: these things are the beginning of travail. |
| 9 | Prenez garde à vous-mêmes. On vous livrera aux sanhédrins, et dans les synagogues vous serez flagellés, et vous comparaîtrez devant gouverneurs et rois, à cause de moi, en témoignage pour eux. | But take ye heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in synagogues shall ye be beaten; and before governors and kings shall ye stand for my sake, for a testimony unto them. |
| 10 | Il faut qu'auparavant l'Evangile soit proclamé pour toutes les nations. | And the gospel must first be preached unto all the nations. |
| 11 | Et quand on vous emmènera pour vous livrer, ne vous préoccupez pas d'avance de ce que vous direz, mais dites ce qui vous sera donné à l'heure même; car ce n'est pas vous qui parlerez, mais l'Esprit-Saint. | And when they lead you [to judgment], and deliver you up, be not anxious beforehand what ye shall speak: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye; for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit. |
| 12 | Le frère livrera son frère à la mort, et le père son enfant; les enfants s'élèveront contre leurs parents et les feront mettre à mort. | And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child; and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death. |
| 13 | Et vous serez en haine à tous à cause de mon nom; mais celui qui persévérera jusqu'à la fin, celui-là sera sauvé. | And ye shall be hated of all men for my name`s sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. |
| 14 | Quand vous verrez l'abomination de la désolation debout où il ne faut pas, - que celui qui lit comprenne ! - alors, que ceux (qui seront) dans la Judée s'enfuient dans les montagnes; | But when ye see the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not (let him that readeth understand), then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains: |
| 15 | que celui (qui sera) sur la terrasse ne descende pas et n'entre pas pour prendre quelque chose dans sa maison; | and let him that is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out his house: |
| 16 | et que celui (qui sera allé) dans les champs ne revienne pas en arrière pour prendre son manteau. | and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak. |
| 17 | Malheur aux femmes qui seront enceintes et à celles qui allaiteront en ces jours-là ! | But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! |
| 18 | Priez pour que ces choses n'arrivent pas en hiver; | And pray ye that it be not in the winter. |
| 19 | car ces jours-là seront une tribulation telle qu'il n'y en a point eu de pareille depuis le commencement de la création (du monde), que Dieu a créé, jusqu'à maintenant, et qu'il n'y en aura plus. | For those days shall be tribulation, such as there hath not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never shall be. |
| 20 | Et si le Seigneur n'avait abrégé ces jours, nul vivant n'échapperait; mais à cause de ceux qu'il a élus, il a abrégé ces jours. | And except the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the elect`s sake, whom he chose, he shortened the days. |
| 21 | Si quelqu'un vous dit alors : "Voici le Christ ici ! Le voilà là ! "ne le croyez point. | And then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ; or, Lo, there; believe [it] not: |
| 22 | Car il s'élèvera de faux christs et de faux prophètes, et ils feront des miracles et des prodiges pour induire en erreur, s'il se pouvait, les élus. | for there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, the elect. |
| 23 | Pour vous, prenez garde ! Voilà que je vous ai tout prédit. | But take ye heed: behold, I have told you all things beforehand. |
| 24 | Mais en ces jours-là, après cette tribulation, le soleil s'obscurcira, la lune ne donnera pas sa clarté, | But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, |
| 25 | les astres tomberont du ciel, et les puissances qui sont dans les cieux seront ébranlées. | and the stars shall be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens shall be shaken. |
| 26 | Alors on verra le Fils de l'homme venant dans les nuées avec grande puissance et gloire. | And then shall they see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory. |
| 27 | Et alors il enverra ses anges et il rassemblera ses élus des quatre vents, de l'extrémité de la terre jusqu'à l'extrémité du ciel. | And then shall he send forth the angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. |
| 28 | Du figuier apprenez cette comparaison : Dès que sa ramure devient tendre et que ses feuilles poussent, vous savez que l'été est proche. | Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh; |
| 29 | Ainsi, quand vous verrez ces choses arriver, sachez que (l'événement) est proche, aux portes. | even so ye also, when ye see these things coming to pass, know ye that he is nigh, [even] at the doors. |
| 30 | Je vous le dis en vérité, cette génération ne passera point que toutes ces choses ne soient arrivées. | Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, until all these things be accomplished. |
| 31 | Le ciel et la terre passeront, mais mes paroles ne passeront point. | Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. |
| 32 | Quant à ce jour et à l'heure, nul ne le connaît, pas même les anges dans le ciel, pas même le Fils, mais le Père. | But of that day or that hour knoweth no one, not even the angels in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. |
| 33 | Prenez garde, veillez, car vous ne savez pas quand ce sera le moment. | Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. |
| 34 | (C'est) comme un homme parti en voyage, qui a laissé sa maison et a remis l'autorité à ses serviteurs, à chacun sa tâche, et qui a commandé au portier de veiller. | [It is] as [when] a man, sojourning in another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, to each one his work, commanded also the porter to watch. |
| 35 | Veillez donc, car vous ne savez pas quand viendra le maître de la maison, le soir, ou à minuit, ou au chant du coq, ou le matin, | Watch therefore: for ye know not when the lord of the house cometh, whether at even, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or in the morning; |
| 36 | de peur que, revenant subitement il ne vous trouve endormis. | lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. |
| 37 | Ce que je vous dis, je le dis à tous : Veillez ! " | And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. |
