| 1 | And he began to speak unto them in parables. A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and digged a pit for the winepress, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into another country. | Poi egli cominciò a parlar loro in parabole: Un uomo piantò una vigna, vi fece attorno una siepe, vi scavò un luogo dove pigiare l'uva, vi costruì una torre, e l'affidò a dei vignaioli, poi se ne andò lontano. |
| 2 | And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruits of the vineyard. | Nella stagione della raccolta inviò a quei vignaioli un servo per ricevere da loro la sua parte del frutto della vigna. |
| 3 | And they took him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. | Ma essi lo presero, lo batterono e lo rimandarono a mani vuote. |
| 4 | And again he sent unto them another servant; and him they wounded in the head, and handled shamefully. | Egli mandò loro di nuovo un altro servo; ma essi, dopo avergli tirate delle pietre, lo ferirono alla testa e lo rimandarono vilipeso. |
| 5 | And he sent another; and him they killed: and many others; beating some, and killing some. | Ne inviò ancora un altro e questi lo uccisero. Poi ne mandò molti altri, e di questi alcuni furono percossi, altri uccisi. |
| 6 | He had yet one, a beloved son: he sent him last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son. | Gli restava ancora uno da mandare: il suo amato figlio. Per ultimo mandò loro anche lui, dicendo: "avranno almeno rispetto per mio figlio" |
| 7 | But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours. | Ma quei vignaioli dissero fra loro: "Costui è l'erede, venite, uccidiamolo e l'eredità sarà nostra" |
| 8 | And they took him, and killed him, and cast him forth out of the vineyard. | Così lo presero, lo uccisero e lo gettarono fuori dalla vigna. |
| 9 | What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others. | Che farà dunque il padrone della vigna? Egli verrà e sterminerà quei vignaioli e darà la vigna ad altri. |
| 10 | Have ye not read even this scripture: The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner; | Non avete neppure letto questa scrittura: "La pietra che gli edificatori hanno scartata è divenuta la testata d'angolo. |
| 11 | This was from the Lord, And it is marvellous in our eyes? | Ciò è stato fatto dal Signore, ed è cosa meravigliosa agli occhi nostri"?. |
| 12 | And they sought to lay hold on him; and they feared the multitude; for they perceived that he spake the parable against them: and they left him, and went away. | Allora essi cercavano di prenderlo, perché avevano capito che egli aveva detto quella parabola contro di loro; ma ebbero paura della folla; e, lasciatolo, se ne andarono. |
| 13 | And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, that they might catch him in talk. | Gli mandarono poi alcuni farisei ed erodiani per coglierlo in fallo nelle parole. |
| 14 | And when they were come, they say unto him, Teacher, we know that thou art true, and carest not for any one; for thou regardest not the person of men, but of a truth teachest the way of God: Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? | Ed essi, giunti, gli dissero: Maestro, noi sappiamo che tu sei verace e non hai riguardi per nessuno, perché non badi all'apparenza delle persone, ma insegni la via di Dio secondo verità. è lecito o no pagare il tributo a Cesare? Dobbiamo pagarlo o no?. |
| 15 | Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why make ye trial of me? bring me a denarius, that I may see it. | Ma egli, conoscendo la loro ipocrisia, disse loro: Perché mi tentate? Portatemi un denaro perché lo veda. |
| 16 | And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar`s. | Essi glielo portarono. Ed egli disse loro: Di chi è questa immagine e questa iscrizione?. Essi gli dissero: Di Cesare. |
| 17 | And Jesus said unto them, Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar`s, and unto God the things that are God`s. And they marvelled greatly at him. | Allora Gesù rispose e disse loro: Rendete a Cesare ciò che è di Cesare, e a Dio ciò che è di Dio. Ed essi si meravigliarono di lui. |
| 18 | And there come unto him Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying, | Poi si presentarono a lui dei sadducei, i quali dicono che non vi è risurrezione, e lo interrogarono, dicendo: |
| 19 | Teacher, Moses wrote unto us, If a man`s brother die, and leave a wife behind him, and leave no child, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. | Maestro, Mosè ci lasciò scritto che se muore il fratello di uno e lascia la moglie senza figli, il fratello di lui deve sposare la vedova per suscitare una discendenza a suo fratello. |
| 20 | There were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed; | Ora vi erano sette fratelli; il primo prese moglie e morì senza lasciare figli. |
| 21 | and the second took her, and died, leaving no seed behind him; and the third likewise: | Quindi la prese il secondo, ma anche questi morì senza lasciare figli; così pure il terzo. |
| 22 | and the seven left no seed. Last of all the woman also died. | Tutti e sette l'ebbero per moglie, e morirono senza lasciare figli. Infine, dopo tutti, morì anche la donna. |
| 23 | In the resurrection whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife. | Nella risurrezione dunque, quando risusciteranno, di chi di loro sarà ella moglie? Poiché tutti e sette l'hanno avuta per moglie. |
| 24 | Jesus said unto them, Is it not for this cause that ye err, that ye know not the scriptures, nor the power of God? | Ma Gesù, rispondendo, disse loro: Non è proprio per questo che siete in errore, perché non conoscete né le Scritture né la potenza di Dio? |
| 25 | For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as angels in heaven. | Infatti, quando gli uomini risusciteranno dai morti, né si ammoglieranno né si mariteranno, ma saranno come gli angeli in cielo. |
| 26 | But as touching the dead, that they are raised; have ye not read in the book of Moses, in [the place concerning] the Bush, how God spake unto him, saying, I [am] the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? | Riguardo poi alla risurrezione dei morti, non avete letto nel libro di Mosè come Dio gli parlò dal roveto, dicendo io sono il Dio di Abrahamo, il Dio di Isacco e il Dio di Giacobbe |
| 27 | He is not the God of the dead, but of the living: ye do greatly err. | Egli non è Dio dei morti, ma Dio dei viventi. Voi, dunque, vi sbagliate grandemente. |
| 28 | And one of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together, and knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, What commandment is the first of all? | Allora uno degli scribi che aveva udita la loro discussione, riconoscendo che egli aveva loro risposto bene, si accostò e gli domandò: Qual è il primo comandamento di tutti?. |
| 29 | Jesus answered, The first is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one: | E Gesù gli rispose: Il primo comandamento di tutti è: "ascolta, Israele: Il Signore Dio nostro è l'unico Signore", |
| 30 | and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. | e: "ama il Signore Dio tuo con tutto il tuo cuore, con tutta la tua anima, con tutta la tua mente e con tutta la tua forza". Questo è il primo comandamento. |
| 31 | The second is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. | E il secondo è simile a questo: "ama il tuo prossimo come te stesso". Non vi è alcun altro comandamento maggiore di questi. |
| 32 | And the scribe said unto him, Of a truth, Teacher, thou hast well said that he is one; and there is none other but he: | Allora lo scriba gli disse: Bene, Maestro. Hai detto secondo verità che vi è un sol Dio e non ve n'è alcun altro all'infuori di lui; |
| 33 | and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is much more than all whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices. | e che amarlo con tutto il cuore, con tutta la mente, con tutta l'anima e con tutta la forza, e amare il prossimo come se stessi vale più di tutti gli olocausti e i sacrifici, |
| 34 | And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question. | E Gesù, vedendo che aveva risposto saggiamente, gli disse: Tu non sei lontano dal regno di Dio. E nessuno ardiva più interrogarlo. |
| 35 | And Jesus answered and said, as he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that the Christ is the son of David? | E Gesù, insegnando nel tempio, prese a dire: Come mai gli scribi dicono che il Cristo è Figlio di Davide? |
| 36 | David himself said in the Holy Spirit, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet. | Poiché Davide stesso, per lo Spirito Santo, disse: "il Signore ha detto al mio Signore: Siedi alla mia destra, finché io abbia fatto dei tuoi nemici lo sgabello dei tuoi piedi". |
| 37 | David himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he his son? And the common people heard him gladly. | Davide stesso dunque lo chiama Signore; come può dunque egli essere suo figlio?. E la maggior parte della folla lo ascoltava con piacere. |
| 38 | And in his teaching he said, Beware of the scribes, who desire to walk in long robes, and [to have] salutations in the marketplaces, | Ed egli diceva loro nel suo insegnamento: Guardatevi dagli scribi che amano passeggiare in lunghe vesti ed essere salutati nelle piazze, |
| 39 | and chief seats in the synagogues, and chief places at feasts: | e avere i primi seggi nelle sinagoghe, e i primi posti nei conviti, |
| 40 | they that devour widows` houses, and for a pretence make long prayers; these shall receive greater condemnation. | che divorano le case delle vedove e per mettersi in mostra, fanno lunghe preghiere; essi riceveranno una più dura condanna. |
| 41 | And he sat down over against the treasury, and beheld how the multitude cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. | E Gesù, postosi a sedere di fronte alla cassa del tesoro, osservava come la gente vi gettava il denaro; e tanti ricchi ne gettavano molto. |
| 42 | And there came a poor widow, and she cast in two mites, which make a farthing. | Venuta una povera vedova, vi gettò due spiccioli, cioè un quadrante. |
| 43 | And he called unto him his disciples, and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, This poor widow cast in more than all they that are casting into the treasury: | E Gesù, chiamati a sé i suoi discepoli, disse loro: In verità vi dico che questa povera vedova ha gettato nel tesoro più di tutti gli altri. |
| 44 | for they all did cast in of their superfluity; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, [even] all her living. | Poiché tutti vi hanno gettato del loro superfluo, mentre ella, nella sua povertà, vi ha gettato tutto quello che aveva per vivere. |
