Les ayant pris avec lui, il se retira à l'écart, dans un lieu solitaire, près d'une ville appelée Bethsaïda. | And the apostles, when they were returned, declared unto him what things they had done. And he took them, and withdrew apart to a city called Bethsaida. | Quando gli apostoli ritornarono, raccontarono a Gesù tutte le cose che avevano fatto. | 12 | Comme le jour commençait à baisser, les douze s'approchèrent et lui dirent: Renvoie cette multitude, afin qu'ils aillent dans les bourgades et dans les campagnes environnantes, pour se loger et trouver des vivres; car nous sommes ici dans un lieu désert. | And the day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages and country round about, and lodge, and get provisions: for we are here in a desert place. | Or il giorno cominciava a declinare; e i dodici, accostatisi, gli dissero: Congeda la folla, perché se ne vada per i villaggi e per le campagne d'intorno a trovare alloggio e nutrimento perché qui siamo in un luogo deserto. |

And they said, We have no more than five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy food for all this people. | Ma egli disse loro: Date voi ad essi da mangiare. | 22 | Ajoutant: Il faut que le Fils de l'homme souffre beaucoup, et qu'il soit rejeté par les anciens, les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes, et qu'il soit mis à mort, et qu'il ressuscite le troisième jour. | saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up. | dicendo: E' necessario che il Figlio dell'uomo soffra molte cose, sia rigettato dagli anziani, dai capi dei sacerdoti e dagli scribi, sia ucciso e risusciti il terzo giorno. |
| 23 | Or, il disait à tous: Si quelqu'un veut venir après moi, qu'il renonce à lui-même, qu'il se charge chaque jour de sa croix, et qu'il me suive. | And he said unto all, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. | Poi disse a tutti: Se qualcuno vuol venire dietro a me, rinneghi se stesso, prenda ogni giorno la sua croce e mi segua. |
| 24 | Car quiconque voudra sauver sa vie la perdra; mais quiconque perdra sa vie pour l'amour de moi, celui-là la sauvera. | For whosoever would save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. | Perché chi vorrà salvare la sua vita, la perderà; ma chi perderà la sua vita per causa mia, la salverà. |
| 25 | Et que servirait-il à un homme de gagner tout le monde, s'il se détruisait ou se perdait lui-même? | For what is a man profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose or forfeit his own self? | Che giova infatti all'uomo guadagnare tutto il mondo, se poi rovina se stesso e va in perdizione? |
| 26 | Car si quelqu'un a honte de moi et de mes paroles, le Fils de l'homme aura honte de lui quand il viendra dans sa gloire, et dans celle du Père et des saints anges. | For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in his own glory, and [the glory] of the Father, and of the holy angels. | Perché, se uno ha vergogna di me e delle mie parole, anche il Figlio dell'uomo avrà vergogna di lui, quando verrà nella gloria sua e del Padre e dei santi angeli. |
| 27 | Et je vous le dis en vérité: Il y a quelques-uns de ceux qui sont ici présents, qui ne mourront point, qu'ils n'aient vu le royaume de Dieu. | But I tell you of a truth, There are some of them that stand here, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God. | Or io vi dico in verità che vi sono alcuni qui presenti che non gusteranno la morte, prima di aver visto il regno di Dio. |
| 28 | Environ huit jours après ces discours, Jésus prit avec lui Pierre, Jean et Jacques, et monta sur une montagne pour prier. | And it came to pass about eight days after these sayings, that he took with him Peter and John and James, and went up into the mountain to pray. | Or avvenne che circa otto giorni dopo questi discorsi, egli prese con sé Pietro, Giovanni e Giacomo e salì sul monte per pregare. |

| 30 | Et voici deux hommes s'entretenaient avec lui; | And behold, there talked with him two men, who were Moses and Elijah; | Ed ecco, due uomini parlavano con lui; essi erano Mosè ed Elia, |
| 31 | C'était Moïse et Élie, qui apparurent avec gloire, et parlaient de sa mort qu'il devait accomplir à Jérusalem. | who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. | i quali, apparsi in gloria, parlavano della sua dipartita che stava per compiersi a Gerusalemme. |
| 32 | Et Pierre et ceux qui étaient avec lui étaient accablés de sommeil, et quand ils furent réveillés, ils virent sa gloire et les deux hommes qui étaient avec lui. | Now Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him. | Or Pietro e i suoi compagni erano appesantiti dal sonno; ma, quando furono completamente svegli, videro la sua gloria e i due uomini che erano con lui. |
| 33 | Et comme ces hommes se séparaient de Jésus, Pierre lui dit: Maître, il est bon que nous demeurions ici; faisons-y trois tentes, une pour toi, une pour Moïse et une pour Élie; car il ne savait pas bien ce qu'il disait. | And it came to pass, as they were parting from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah: not knowing what he said. | E mentre questi si separavano da lui Pietro disse a Gesù: Maestro, è bene per noi stare qui; facciamo dunque tre tende: una per te, una per Mosè e una per Elia; ma egli non sapeva quello che diceva. |
| 34 | Il parlait encore, lorsqu'une nuée les couvrit; et comme elle les enveloppait, les disciples furent saisis de frayeur. | And while he said these things, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud. | E, mentre egli parlava così, venne una nuvola che li avvolse nella sua ombra; e i discepoli temettero, quando essi entrarono nella nuvola. |
| 35 | Et une voix sortit de la nuée, qui dit: C'est ici mon Fils bien-aimé; écoutez-le. | And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my Son, my chosen: hear ye him. | E una voce venne dalla nuvola dicendo: Questi è il mio amato Figlio; ascoltatelo. |
| 36 | Et comme la voix se faisait entendre, Jésus se trouva seul; et ses disciples gardèrent le silence, et ne dirent rien alors à personne de ce qu'ils avaient vu. | And when the voice came, Jesus was found alone. And they held their peace, and told no man in those days any of the things which they had seen. | E, mentre quella voce parlava, Gesù si trovò tutto solo. Or essi tacquero, e in quei giorni non raccontarono nulla a nessuno di ciò che avevano visto. |
| 37 | Le jour suivant, comme ils descendaient de la montagne, une grande troupe vint au-devant de Jésus. | And it came to pass, on the next day, when they were come down from the mountain, a great multitude met him. | Or il giorno seguente, quando discesero dal monte, avvenne che una gran folla venne incontro a Gesù. |
| 38 | Et un homme de la troupe s'écria et dit: Maître, je te prie, jette les yeux sur mon fils; car c'est mon unique. | And behold, a man from the multitude cried, saying, Teacher, I beseech thee to look upon my son; for he is mine only child: | Ed ecco, un uomo fra la folla si mise a gridare, dicendo: Maestro, ti prego, volgi lo sguardo su mio figlio perché è l'unico che ho. |
| 39 | Un esprit se saisit de lui, et aussitôt il jette de grands cris. Puis l'esprit l'agite violemment, le fait écumer, et à peine le quitte-t-il, après l'avoir tout brisé. | and behold, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth, and it hardly departeth from him, bruising him sorely. | Ed ecco, uno spirito lo prende e subito egli grida; poi lo contorce e lo fa schiumare, e se ne va da lui a fatica, dopo averlo straziato. |
| 40 | Et j'ai prié tes disciples de le chasser; mais ils n'ont pu. | And I besought thy disciples to cast it out; and they could not. | Io ho pregato i tuoi discepoli di scacciarlo, ma non hanno potuto. |
| 41 | Et Jésus répondant, dit: O race incrédule et perverse, jusqu'à quand serai-je avec vous et vous supporterai-je? | And Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and bear with you? bring hither thy son. | E Gesù, rispondendo, disse: O generazione incredula e perversa, fino a quando sarò con voi e vi sopporterò? Porta qui tuo figlio. |
| 42 | Amène ici ton fils. Et comme il approchait, le démon le terrassa, et l'agita violemment; mais Jésus reprit fortement l'esprit immonde, et guérit l'enfant, et le rendit à son père. | And as he was yet a coming, the demon dashed him down, and tare [him] grievously. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father. | E mentre il fanciullo si avvicinava, il demone lo contorse e lo straziò. Ma Gesù sgridò lo spirito immondo, guarì il fanciullo e lo rese a suo padre. |
| 43 | Et tous furent étonnés de la puissance magnifique de Dieu. Et comme ils étaient tous dans l'admiration de tout ce que Jésus faisait, il dit à ses disciples: | And they were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marvelling at all the things which he did, he said unto his disciples, | E tutti rimasero sbalorditi della magnificenza di Dio. Ora, mentre tutti si meravigliavano per tutte le cose che Gesù faceva, egli disse ai suoi discepoli: |
| 44 | Pour vous, écoutez bien ces paroles: Le Fils de l'homme doit être livré entre les mains des hommes. | Let these words sink into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered up into the hands of men. | Voi, riponete queste parole nei vostri orecchi, perché il Figlio dell'uomo sarà dato nelle mani degli uomini. |
| 45 | Mais ils n'entendaient point cette parole; elle était si obscure pour eux, qu'ils n'y comprenaient rien; et ils craignaient de l'interroger sur ce sujet. | But they understood not this saying, and it was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask him about this saying. | Ma essi non compresero questo parlare; ed era loro velato per cui non lo potevano intendere, e temevano di interrogarlo in merito a ciò che aveva detto. |
| 46 | Or, une pensée s'empara d'eux, savoir: Lequel d'entre eux serait le plus grand. | And there arose a reasoning among them, which of them was the greatest. | Poi sorse fra loro una disputa: chi di loro fosse il maggiore. |
| 47 | Mais Jésus, voyant la pensée de leur coeur, prit un enfant et le plaça auprès de lui, et il leur dit: | But when Jesus saw the reasoning of their heart, he took a little child, and set him by his side, | Allora Gesù, conoscendo il pensiero del loro cuore, prese un piccolo fanciullo e se lo pose accanto |
| 48 | Quiconque reçoit cet enfant en mon nom, me reçoit; et quiconque me reçoit, reçoit celui qui m'a envoyé. Car celui d'entre vous tous qui est le plus petit, c'est celui-là qui sera grand. | and said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this little child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same is great. | e disse loro: Chi riceve questo piccolo fanciullo nel nome mio, riceve me e chi riceve me, riceve colui che mi ha mandato, perché chi è il più piccolo di tutti voi, questi sarà grande. |
| 49 | Et Jean, prenant la parole, dit: Maître, nous avons vu quelqu'un qui chassait les démons en ton nom; et nous l'en avons empêché, parce qu'il ne te suit pas avec nous. | And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out demons in thy name; and we forbade him, because he followeth not with us. | Or Giovanni prese la parola e gli disse: Maestro, noi abbiamo visto uno che scacciava i demoni nel tuo nome e glielo abbiamo proibito, perché non ti segue con noi. |
| 50 | Et Jésus lui dit: Ne l'en empêchez point; car celui qui n'est pas contre nous est pour nous. | But Jesus said unto him, Forbid [him] not: for he that is not against you is for you. | Ma Gesù gli disse: Non glielo proibite. perché chi non è contro di noi è per noi. |
| 51 | Comme le temps de son élévation approchait, il se mit en chemin, résolu d'aller à Jérusalem. | And it came to pass, when the days were well-nigh come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, | Or avvenne che, mentre si stava compiendo il tempo in cui egli doveva essere portato in cielo, egli diresse risolutamente la sua faccia per andare a Gerusalemme, |
| 52 | Et il envoya des gens devant lui, qui, étant partis, entrèrent dans un bourg des Samaritains, pour lui préparer un logement. | and sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. | e mandò dei messaggeri davanti a sé. | 53 | Mais ceux-ci ne le reçurent pas, parce qu'il se dirigeait vers Jérusalem. | And they did not receive him, because his face was [as though he were] going to Jerusalem. | Ma quelli del villaggio non lo vollero ricevere, perché egli camminava con la faccia rivolta a Gerusalemme. |
| 54 | Et Jacques et Jean, ses disciples, voyant cela, lui dirent: Seigneur, veux-tu que nous disions que le feu descende du ciel et qu'il les consume, comme fit Élie? | And when his disciples James and John saw [this], they said, Lord, wilt thou that we bid fire to come down from heaven, and consume them? | Visto ciò, i suoi discepoli Giacomo e Giovanni dissero: Signore, vuoi che diciamo che scenda fuoco dal cielo e li consumi, come fece anche Elia?. |
| 55 | Mais Jésus, se retournant, les censura et dit: Vous ne savez de quel esprit vous êtes animés; | But he turned, and rebuked them. | Ma egli si voltò verso di loro e li sgridò dicendo: Voi non sapete di quale spirito siete; |

Et ils s'en allèrent dans un autre bourg. | And they went to another village. | poiché il Figlio dell'uomo non è venuto per distruggere le anime degli uomini, ma per salvarle. | 57 | Comme ils étaient en chemin, un homme lui dit: Je te suivrai, Seigneur, partout où tu iras. | And as they went on the way, a certain man said unto him, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. | Or avvenne che, mentre camminavano per la via, qualcuno gli disse: Signore, io ti seguirò dovunque andrai. |
| 58 | Mais Jésus lui dit: Les renards ont des tanières, et les oiseaux du ciel des nids; mais le Fils de l'homme n'a pas où reposer sa tête. | And Jesus said unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven [have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. | Ma Gesù gli disse: Le volpi hanno delle tane e gli uccelli del cielo dei nidi; ma il Figlio dell'uomo non ha dove posare il capo. |

But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. | Poi disse ad un altro: Seguimi!. Ma quello rispose: Signore, permettimi prima di andare a seppellire mio padre. |
| 60 | Jésus lui dit: Laisse les morts ensevelir leurs morts, mais toi, va annoncer le royaume de Dieu. | But he said unto him, Leave the dead to bury their own dead; but go thou and publish abroad the kingdom of God. | Gesù gli disse: Lascia che i morti seppelliscano i loro morti, ma tu va' ad annunziare il regno di Dio. |
| 61 | Un autre lui dit aussi: Je te suivrai, Seigneur, mais permets-moi de prendre auparavant congé de ceux qui sont dans ma maison. | And another also said, I will follow thee, Lord; but first suffer me to bid farewell to them that are at my house. | Ancora un altro gli disse: Signore io ti seguirò, ma permettimi prima di congedarmi da quelli di casa mia. |
| 62 | Mais Jésus lui répondit: Celui qui met la main à la charrue et regarde derrière lui, n'est point propre au royaume de Dieu. | But Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. | Gesù gli disse: Nessuno che ha messo la mano all'aratro e poi si volge indietro, è adatto per il regno di Dio. |
