| 1 | And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, | Or Jésus étant rempli du Saint-Esprit s'en retourna de devers le Jourdain, et fut mené par la vertu de l'Esprit au désert. |
| 2 | Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. | Et il fut tenté du diable quarante jours, et ne mangea rien du tout durant ces jours-là, mais après qu'ils furent passés, finalement il eut faim. |
| 3 | And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. | Et le diable lui dit: si tu es le Fils de Dieu, dis à cette pierre qu'elle devienne du pain. |
| 4 | And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. | Et Jésus lui répondit, en disant: il est écrit: que l'homme ne vivra pas seulement de pain, mais de toute parole de Dieu. |
| 5 | And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. | Alors le diable l'emmena sur une haute montagne, et lui montra en un moment de temps tous les Royaumes du monde. |
| 6 | And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. | Et le diable lui dit: je te donnerai toute cette puissance et leur gloire; car elle m'a été donnée, et je la donne à qui je veux. |
| 7 | If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. | Si tu veux donc te prosterner devant moi, tout sera tien. |
| 8 | And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. | Mais Jésus répondant, lui dit: va arrière de moi, Satan,; car il est écrit: tu adoreras le Seigneur ton Dieu, et tu le serviras lui seul. |
| 9 | And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: | Il l'amena aussi à Jérusalem, et le mit sur la balustrade du Temple, et lui dit: si tu es le Fils de Dieu, jette-toi d'ici en bas. |
| 10 | For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: | Car il est écrit qu'il ordonnera à ses Anges de te conserver! |
| 11 | And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. | Et qu'ils te porteront en leurs mains, de peur que tu ne heurtes ton pied contre quelque pierre. |
| 12 | And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. | Mais Jésus répondant, lui dit: il a été dit: tu ne tenteras point le Seigneur ton Dieu. |
| 13 | And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. | Et quand toute la tentation fut finie, le diable se retira d'avec lui; pour un temps. |
| 14 | And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. | Et Jésus retourna en Galilée par la vertu de l'Esprit, et sa renommée se répandit par tout le pays d'alentour. |
| 15 | And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. | Car il enseignait dans leurs Synagogues, et était honoré de tous. |
| 16 | And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. | Et il vint à Nazareth, où il avait été nourri, et entra dans la Synagogue le jour du Sabbat, selon sa coutume; puis il se leva pour lire. |
| 17 | And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, | Et on lui donna le Livre du Prophète Esaïe, et quand il eut déployé le Livre, il trouva le passage où il est écrit: |
| 18 | The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, | L'Esprit du Seigneur est sur moi, parce qu'il m'a oint; il m'a envoyé pour évangéliser aux pauvres; pour guérir ceux qui ont le coeur froissé. |
| 19 | To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. | Pour publier aux captifs la délivrance, et aux aveugles le recouvrement de la vue; pour mettre en liberté ceux qui sont foulés; et pour publier l'an agréable du Seigneur. |
| 20 | And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. | Puis ayant ployé le Livre, et l'ayant rendu au Ministre, il s'assit; et les yeux de tous ceux qui étaient dans la Synagogue étaient arrêtés sur lui. |
| 21 | And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. | Alors il commença à leur dire: aujourd'hui cette Ecriture est accomplie, vous l'entendant. |
| 22 | And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son? | Et tous lui rendaient témoignage, et s'étonnaient des paroles pleines de grâce qui sortaient de sa bouche; et ils disaient: celui-ci n'est-il pas le Fils de Joseph? |
| 23 | And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country. | Et il leur dit: assurément vous me direz ce proverbe: médecin, guéris-toi toi-même; et fais ici dans ton pays toutes les choses que nous avons ouï dire que tu as faites à Capernaüm. |
| 24 | And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country. | Mais il leur dit: en vérité je vous dis qu'aucun Prophète n'est bien reçu dans son pays. |
| 25 | But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; | Et certes je vous dis qu'il y avait plusieurs veuves en Israël, du temps d'Elie, lorsque le ciel fut fermé trois ans et six mois; de sorte qu'il y eut une grande famine par tout le pays. |
| 26 | But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow. | Et toutefois Elie ne fut envoyé vers aucune d'elles, mais seulement vers une femme veuve dans Sarepta de Sidon. |
| 27 | And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian. | Il y avait aussi plusieurs lépreux en Israël du temps d'Elisée le Prophète; toutefois pas un d'eux ne fut guéri; mais seulement Naaman, qui était Syrien. |
| 28 | And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, | Et ils furent tous remplis de colère dans la Synagogue, entendant ces choses. |
| 29 | And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong. | Et s'étant levés, ils le mirent hors de la ville, et le menèrent jusqu'au bord de la montagne sur laquelle leur ville était bâtie, pour le jeter du haut en bas. |
| 30 | But he passing through the midst of them went his way, | Mais il passa au milieu d'eux, et s'en alla. |
| 31 | And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days. | Et il descendit à Capernaüm, ville de Galilée, et il les enseignait là les jours de Sabbat. |
| 32 | And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. | Et ils s'étonnaient de sa doctrine; car sa parole était avec autorité. |
| 33 | And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, | Or il y avait dans la Synagogue un homme qui était possédé d'un démon impur, lequel s'écria à haute voix, |
| 34 | Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God. | En disant: ha! qu'y a-t-il entre nous et toi, Jésus Nazarien? Es-tu venu pour nous détruire? je sais qui tu es, le Saint de Dieu. |
| 35 | And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not. | Et Jésus le censura fortement, en lui disant: tais-toi; et sors de cet homme. Et le diable après l'avoir jeté avec impétuosité au milieu de l'assemblée sortit de cet homme, sans lui avoir fait aucun mal. |
| 36 | And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out. | Et ils furent tous saisis d'étonnement, et ils parlaient entre eux, et disaient: quelle parole est celle-ci, qu'il commande avec autorité et avec puissance aux esprits immondes, et ils sortent? |
| 37 | And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about. | Et sa renommée se répandit dans tous les quartiers du pays d'alentour. |
| 38 | And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. | Et quand Jésus se fut levé de la Synagogue, il entra dans la maison de Simon, et la belle-mère de Simon était détenue d'une grosse fièvre, et on le pria pour elle. |
| 39 | And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them. | Et s'étant penché sur elle, il tança la fièvre et la fièvre la quitta; et incontinent elle se leva, et les servit. |
| 40 | Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. | Et comme le soleil se couchait, tous ceux qui avaient des malades de diverses maladies, les lui amenèrent; et posant les mains sur chacun d'eux, il les guérissait. |
| 41 | And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ. | Les démons aussi sortaient hors de plusieurs, criant, et disant: tu es le Christ, le Fils de Dieu; mais il les censurait fortement, et ne leur permettait pas de dire qu'ils sussent qu'il était le Christ. |
| 42 | And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them. | Et dès qu'il fut jour il partit, et s'en alla en un lieu désert; et les troupes le cherchaient, et étant venues à lui, elles le retenaient, afin qu'il ne partît point d'avec eux. |
| 43 | And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. | Mais il leur dit: il faut que j'évangélise aussi aux autres villes le Royaume de Dieu: car je suis envoyé pour cela. |
| 44 | And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee. | Et il prêchait dans les Synagogues de la Galilée. |
