| 10 | Et les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes se tinrent là, l'accusant avec véhémence. | And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him. | Intanto i capi dei sacerdoti e gli scribi stavano là accusandolo con veemenza. |
| 11 | Et Hérode, avec ses troupes, l'ayant traité avec mépris et s'étant moqué de lui, le revêtit d'un vêtement éclatant et le renvoya à Pilate. | And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate. | Allora Erode, con i suoi soldati, dopo averlo oltraggiato e schernito, lo rivestì di una veste splendida e lo rimandò da Pilato. |
| 12 | Et Pilate et Hérode devinrent amis entre eux ce même jour; car auparavant ils étaient en inimitié l'un avec l'autre. | And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves. | In quel giorno Erode e Pilato divennero amici, mentre prima erano stati nemici. |

| 14 | leur dit: Vous m'avez amené cet homme comme détournant le peuple, et voici, l'ayant examiné devant vous, moi je n'ai trouvé aucun crime dans cet homme quant aux choses dont vous l'accusez, | Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him: | disse loro: Voi mi avete portato quest'uomo, come uno che perverte il popolo; ed ecco, dopo averlo esaminato alla vostra presenza, non ho trovato in lui nessuna delle colpe di cui lo accusate |
| 15 | ni Hérode non plus, car je vous ai renvoyés à lui; et voici, rien n'a été fait par lui qui soit digne de mort. | No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him. | e neppure Erode, perché lo ha rimandato a noi; in realtà egli non ha fatto nulla che meriti la morte. |
| 16 | L'ayant donc châtié, je le relâcherai. | I will therefore chastise him, and release him. | Perciò, dopo averlo fatto flagellare, lo rilascerò. |
| 17 | Or il était obligé de leur relâcher quelqu'un à la fête. | (For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.) | Ora in occasione della festa di Pasqua, il governatore doveva liberare qualcuno. |
| 18 | Et toute la multitude s'écria ensemble, disant: Ote celui-ci, et relâche-nous Barabbas | And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas: | Ma essi tutti insieme gridarono, dicendo: A morte costui, e liberaci Barabba. |

I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go. | Per la terza volta, egli disse loro: Ma che male ha fatto costui? | 23 | Mais ils insistaient à grands cris, demandant qu'il fût crucifié. Et leurs cris et ceux des principaux sacrificateurs eurent le dessus. | And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed. | Ma quelli insistevano con grandi grida, chiedendo che fosse crocifisso, e le loro grida e quelle dei capi dei sacerdoti finirono per prevalere. |
| 24 | Et Pilate prononça que ce qu'ils demandaient fût fait. | And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required. | Pilato allora decise che fosse fatto ciò che chiedevano. |
| 25 | Et il relâcha celui qui, pour sédition et pour meurtre, avait été jeté en prison, lequel ils demandaient; et il livra Jésus à leur volonté. | And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will. | E rilasciò loro colui che era stato incarcerato per sedizione e per omicidio e che essi avevano richiesto; e consegnò Gesù alla loro volontà. |
| 26 | Et comme ils l'emmenaient, ils prirent un certain Simon, Cyrénéen, qui venait des champs, et le chargèrent de la croix, pour la porter après Jésus. | And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus. | Mentre lo conducevano via, presero un certo Simone di Cirene che veniva dai campi, e gli misero addosso la croce, perché la portasse dietro a Gesù. |
| 27 | Et une grande multitude du peuple et de femmes qui se frappaient la poitrine et le pleuraient, le suivait. | And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him. | Or lo seguiva una grande folla di popolo e di donne, che facevano cordoglio e lamenti su di lui. |
| 28 | Mais Jésus, se tournant vers elles, dit: Filles de Jérusalem, ne pleurez pas sur moi; mais pleurez sur vous-mêmes et sur vos enfants; | But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. | Ma Gesù. voltandosi verso di loro disse: Figlie di Gerusalemme, non piangete per me, ma piangete per voi stesse e per i vostri figli. |
| 29 | car voici, des jours viennent dans lesquels on dira: Bienheureuses les stériles, et les ventres qui n'ont pas enfanté, et les mamelles qui n'ont pas nourri. | For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. | Perché ecco, verranno i giorni in cui si dirà: "Beate le sterili e beati i grembi che non hanno partorito e le mammelle che non hanno allattato!". |
| 30 | Alors ils se mettront à dire aux montagnes: Tombez sur nous; et aux coteaux: Couvrez-vous; | Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. | Allora cominceranno a dire ai monti: "Cadeteci addosso" e alle colline: "Copriteci" |
| 31 | car s'ils font ces choses au bois vert, que sera-t-il fait au bois sec? | For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry? | Perché, se tali cose si fanno al legno verde, che cosa sarà fatto al legno secco?. |
| 32 | Et deux autres aussi, qui étaient des malfaiteurs, furent menés avec lui, pour être mis à mort. | And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death. | Or venivano condotti con lui anche due malfattori per essere messi a morte. |
| 33 | Et quand ils furent venus au lieu appelé Crâne, ils le crucifièrent là, et les malfaiteurs, l'un à la droite, l'autre à la gauche. | And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. | E quando giunsero al luogo, detto del Teschio, là crocifissero lui e i malfattori, l'uno a destra e l'altro a sinistra. |
| 34 | Et Jésus dit: Père, pardonne-leur, car ils ne savent ce qu'ils font. Et ayant fait le partage de ses vêtements, ils tirèrent au sort. | Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. | E Gesù diceva: Padre perdona loro perché non sanno quello che fanno. Poi, spartite le sue vesti, le tirarono a sorte. |
| 35 | Et le peuple se tenait là, regardant; et les gouverneurs aussi se raillaient de lui avec eux, disant: Il a sauvé les autres; qu'il se sauve lui-même, si lui est le Christ, l'élu de Dieu. | And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God. | E il popolo stava là a guardare, ed anche i magistrati col popolo lo beffavano, dicendo: Egli ha salvati gli altri, salvi se stesso se veramente egli è il Cristo. l'eletto di Dio. |
| 36 | Et les soldats aussi se moquaient de lui, s'approchant, et lui présentant du vinaigre, | And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar, | Anche i soldati lo schernivano, accostandosi e presentandogli dell'aceto. |
| 37 | et disant: Si toi, tu es le roi des Juifs, sauve-toi toi-même. | And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself. | e dicendo: Se tu sei il re dei Giudei, salva te stesso. |
| 38 | Et il y avait aussi au-dessus de lui un écriteau en lettres grecques, romaines, et hébraïques: Celui-ci est le roi des Juifs. | And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. | Sopra il suo capo, inoltre vi era una scritta, in caratteri greci, latini ed ebraici: "COSTUI E IL RE DEI GIUDEI". |
| 39 | Et l'un des malfaiteurs qui étaient pendus l'injuriait, disant: N'es-tu pas le Christ, toi? Sauve-toi toi-même, et nous aussi. | And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. | Or uno dei malfattori appesi lo ingiuriava, dicendo: Se tu sei il Cristo, salva te stesso e noi. |
| 40 | Mais l'autre, répondant, le reprit, disant: Et tu ne crains pas Dieu, toi, car tu es sous le même jugement? | But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? | Ma l'altro, rispondendo, lo sgridava dicendo: Non hai neppure timore di Dio, trovandoti sotto la medesima condanna? |
| 41 | Et pour nous, nous y sommes justement; car nous recevons ce que méritent les choses que nous avons commises: mais celui-ci n'a rien fait qui ne se dût faire. | And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. | Noi in realtà siamo giustamente condannati, perché riceviamo la dovuta pena dei nostri misfatti, ma costui non ha commesso alcun male. |
| 42 | Et il disait à Jésus: Souviens-toi de moi, Seigneur, quand tu viendras dans ton royaume. | And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. | Poi disse a Gesù: Signore, ricordati di me quando verrai nel tuo regno. |
| 43 | Et Jésus lui dit: En vérité, je te dis: Aujourd'hui tu seras avec moi dans le paradis. | And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. | Allora Gesù gli disse: In verità ti dico: oggi tu sarai con me in paradiso. |
| 44 | Or il était environ la sixième heure; et il y eut des ténèbres sur tout le pays jusqu'à la neuvième heure; | And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. | Era circa l'ora sesta, e si fece buio su tutto il paese fino all'ora nona. |
| 45 | et le soleil fut obscurci, et le voile du temple se déchira par le milieu. | And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. | Il sole si oscurò e la cortina del tempio si squarciò in mezzo. |
| 46 | Et Jésus, criant à haute voix, dit: Père! entre tes mains je remets mon esprit. Et ayant dit cela, il expira. | And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. | E Gesù, gridando con gran voce, disse: Padre, nelle tue mani rimetto il mio spirito. E detto questo, rese lo spirito. |
| 47 | Et le centurion, voyant ce qui était arrivé, glorifia Dieu, disant: En vérité, cet homme était juste. | Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. | Allora il centurione, visto quanto era accaduto, glorificò Dio, dicendo: Veramente quest'uomo era giusto. |
| 48 | Et toutes les foules qui s'étaient assemblées à ce spectacle, ayant vu les choses qui étaient arrivées, s'en retournaient, frappant leurs poitrines. | And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned. | E tutta la folla che si era radunata per osservare ciò che accadeva, alla vista di questo, se ne tornò a casa battendosi il petto. |
| 49 | Et tous ceux de sa connaissance, et des femmes qui l'avaient accompagné depuis la Galilée, se tenaient loin, regardant ces choses. | And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things. | Ma tutti i suoi conoscenti e le donne che l'avevano seguito dalla Galilea se ne stavano a distanza, osservando queste cose. |

| 51 | (celui-ci ne s'était pas joint à leur conseil et à leur action), qui était d'Arimathée, ville des Juifs, et qui attendait, lui aussi, le royaume de Dieu...; | (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God. | il quale non aveva acconsentito alla deliberazione e all'operato degli altri. Egli era di Arimatea, città dei Giudei, e aspettava anch'egli il regno di Dio. |

| 56 | Et s'en étant retournées, elles préparèrent des aromates et des parfums; et, le sabbat, elles se tinrent en repos, selon le commandement. | And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. | poi esse tornarono a casa e prepararono gli aromi e gli unguenti, e durante il sabato si riposarono, secondo il comandamento. |
