| 40 | Et l'enfant croissait et se fortifiait en esprit, étant rempli de sagesse; et la grâce de Dieu était sur lui. | And the child grew, and waxed strong, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. | Intanto il bambino cresceva e si fortificava nello spirito, essendo ripieno di sapienza; e la grazia di Dio era su di lui. |

Mais, pensant qu'il était avec leurs compagnons de voyage, ils marchèrent une journée, puis ils le cherchèrent parmi leurs parents et ceux de leur connaissance; | but supposing him to be in the company, they went a day`s journey; and they sought for him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance: | Supponendo che egli fosse nella comitiva, essi fecero una giornata di cammino, poi si misero a cercarlo fra i parenti e i conoscenti; |
| 45 | Et ne le trouvant point, ils retournèrent à Jérusalem pour le chercher. | and when they found him not, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking for him. | e, non avendolo trovato, tornarono a Gerusalemme in cerca di lui. |
| 46 | Et au bout de trois jours ils le trouvèrent dans le temple, assis au milieu des docteurs, les écoutant et leur faisant des questions. | And it came to pass, after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them, and asking them questions: | E avvenne che, tre giorni dopo, lo trovarono nel tempio, seduto in mezzo ai dottori, intento ad ascoltarli e a far loro domande. |

Voici ton père et moi, nous te cherchions, étant fort en peine. | And when they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I sought thee sorrowing. | E, quando essi lo videro, rimasero stupiti, e sua madre gli disse: Figlio, perché ci hai fatto questo? Ecco, tuo padre ed io, angosciati, ti cercavamo!. |

Ne saviez-vous pas qu'il me faut être occupé aux affaires de mon Père? | And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? knew ye not that I must be in my Father`s house? | Ma egli disse loro: Perché mi cercavate?
