| 2 | Et les pharisiens et les scribes en murmuraient et disaient: Cet homme reçoit les gens de mauvaise vie et mange avec eux. | And both the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them. | E i farisei e gli scribi mormoravano, dicendo: Costui accoglie i peccatori e mangia con loro. |
| 3 | Mais il leur dit cette parabole: | And he spake unto them this parable, saying, | Allora egli disse loro questa parabola: |
| 4 | Quel est l'homme d'entre vous qui, ayant cent brebis, s'il en perd une, ne laisse les quatre-vingt-dix-neuf au désert, et n'aille après celle qui est perdue, jusqu'à ce qu'il l'ait trouvée; | What man of you, having a hundred sheep, and having lost one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? | Qual uomo fra voi, se ha cento pecore e ne perde una, non lascia le novantanove nel deserto e non va dietro alla perduta finché non la ritrova? |
| 5 | Et qui, l'ayant trouvée, ne la mette sur ses épaules avec joie; | And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. | E quando la ritrova, se la mette sulle spalle tutto contento; |
| 6 | Et étant arrivé dans la maison, n'appelle ses amis et ses voisins, et ne leur dise: Réjouissez-vous avec moi, car j'ai trouvé ma brebis qui était perdue? | And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and his neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost. | e, giunto a casa, convoca gli amici e i vicini e dice loro: "Rallegratevi con me perché ho ritrovato la mia pecora che era perduta |
| 7 | Je vous dis qu'il y aura de même plus de joie dans le ciel pour un seul pécheur qui se repent, que pour quatre-vingt-dix-neuf justes qui n'ont pas besoin de repentance. | I say unto you, that even so there shall be joy in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, [more] than over ninety and nine righteous persons, who need no repentance. | Io vi dico che allo stesso modo vi sarà in cielo più gioia per un solo peccatore che si ravvede, che per novantanove giusti che non hanno bisogno di ravvedimento. |
| 8 | Ou, quelle est la femme qui, ayant dix drachmes, si elle en perd une, n'allume une chandelle, ne balaie la maison et ne la cherche avec soin, jusqu'à ce qu'elle l'ait trouvée; | Or what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a lamp, and sweep the house, and seek diligently until she find it? | O quale donna, se ha dieci dramme, e ne perde una, non accende la lampada, non spazza la casa e non cerca accuratamente finché non la ritrova? |
| 9 | Et qui, l'ayant trouvée, n'appelle ses amies et ses voisines, et ne leur dise: Réjouissez-vous avec moi, car j'ai trouvé la drachme que j'avais perdue? | And when she hath found it, she calleth together her friends and neighbors, saying, Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I had lost. | E quando l'ha trovata, chiama insieme le amiche e le vicine, dicendo: "Rallegratevi con me, perché ho ritrovato la dramma che avevo perduta". |
| 10 | Je vous dis qu'il y a de même de la joie, devant les anges de Dieu, pour un seul pécheur qui se repent. | Even so, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. | Allo stesso modo vi dico, vi sarà gioia presso gli angeli di Dio per un solo peccatore che si ravvede. |
| 11 | Il dit encore: Un homme avait deux fils. | And he said, A certain man had two sons: | Disse ancora: Un uomo aveva due figli. |
| 12 | Et le plus jeune dit au père: Mon père, donne-moi la part de bien qui doit m'échoir. Et le père leur partagea son bien. | and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of [thy] substance that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. | Il più giovane di loro disse al padre: "Padre, dammi la parte dei beni che mi spetta". E il padre divise fra loro i beni. |
| 13 | Et peu de jours après, ce plus jeune fils ayant tout amassé, partit pour un pays éloigné, et y dissipa son bien en vivant dans la débauche. | And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together and took his journey into a far country; and there he wasted his substance with riotous living. | Pochi giorni dopo il figlio più giovane, raccolta ogni cosa, se ne andò in un paese lontano e là dissipò le sue sostanze vivendo dissolutamente. |
| 14 | Après qu'il eut tout dépensé, il survint une grande famine dans ce pays; et il commença à être dans l'indigence. | And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that country; and he began to be in want. | Ma quando ebbe speso tutto, in quel paese sopraggiunse una grave carestia ed egli cominciò ad essere nel bisogno. |
| 15 | Et s'en étant allé, il se mit au service d'un des habitants de ce pays, qui l'envoya dans ses terres paître les pourceaux. | And he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. | Allora andò a mettersi con uno degli abitanti di quel paese, che lo mandò nei suoi campi a pascolare i porci. |
| 16 | Et il eût bien voulu se rassasier des carouges que les pourceaux mangeaient; mais personne ne lui en donnait. | And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. | Ed egli desiderava riempire il ventre con le carrube che i porci mangiavano, ma nessuno gliene dava. |
| 17 | Étant donc rentré en lui-même, il dit: Combien de serviteurs aux gages de mon père ont du pain en abondance, et moi, je meurs de faim! | But when he came to himself he said, How many hired servants of my father`s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish here with hunger! | Allora, rientrato in sé, disse: "Quanti lavoratori salariati di mio padre hanno pane in abbondanza, io invece muoio di fame! |
| 18 | Je me lèverai et m'en irai vers mon père, et je lui dirai: Mon père, j'ai péché contre le ciel et contre toi; | I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight: | Mi leverò e andrò da mio padre, e gli dirò: Padre, ho peccato contro il cielo e davanti a te |
| 19 | Et je ne suis plus digne d'être appelé ton fils; traite moi comme l'un de tes mercenaires. | I am no more worthy to be called your son: make me as one of thy hired servants. | non sono più degno di essere chiamato tuo figlio; trattami come uno dei tuoi lavoratori salariati |
| 20 | Il partit donc et vint vers son père. Et comme il était encore loin, son père le vit et fut touché de compassion, et courant à lui, il se jeta à son cou et le baisa. | And he arose, and came to his father. But while he was yet afar off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. | Egli dunque si levò e andò da suo padre. Ma mentre era ancora lontano, suo padre lo vide e ne ebbe compassione; corse, gli si gettò al collo e lo baciò. |
| 21 | Et son fils lui dit: Mon père, j'ai péché contre le ciel et contre toi, et je ne suis plus digne d'être appelé ton fils. | And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight: I am no more worthy to be called thy son. | E il figlio gli disse: "Padre, ho peccato contro il cielo e davanti a te e non sono più degno di essere chiamato tuo figlio". |
| 22 | Mais le père dit à ses serviteurs: Apportez la plus belle robe, et l'en revêtez, et mettez-lui un anneau au doigt et des souliers aux pieds; | But the father said to his servants, Bring forth quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: | Ma il padre disse ai suoi servi: "Portate qui la veste più bella e rivestitelo, mettetegli un anello al dito e dei sandali ai piedi. |
| 23 | Et amenez le veau gras, et le tuez; mangeons et réjouissons-nous; | and bring the fatted calf, [and] kill it, and let us eat, and make merry: | Portate fuori il vitello ingrassato e ammazzatelo; mangiamo e rallegriamoci, |
| 24 | Parce que mon fils, que voici, était mort, et il est revenu à la vie; il était perdu, et il est retrouvé. Et ils commencèrent à se réjouir. | for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. | perché questo mio figlio era morto ed è tornato in vita, era perduto ed è stato ritrovato". E si misero a fare grande festa. |
| 25 | Cependant, son fils aîné qui était à la campagne, revint, et comme il approchait de la maison, il entendit une symphonie et des danses. | Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing. | Or il suo figlio maggiore era nei campi; e come ritornava e giunse vicino a casa, udì la musica e le danze. |
| 26 | Et il appela un des serviteurs, auquel il demanda ce que c'était. | And he called to him one of the servants, and inquired what these things might be. | Chiamato allora un servo, gli domandò cosa fosse tutto ciò. |
| 27 | Et le serviteur lui dit: Ton frère est de retour, et ton père a tué le veau gras, parce qu'il l'a recouvré en bonne santé. | And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound. | E quello gli disse: "E' tornato tuo fratello e tuo padre ha ammazzato il vitello ingrassato, perché lo ha riavuto sano salvo". |
| 28 | Mais il se mit en colère et ne voulut point entrer. Son père donc sortit et le pria d'entrer. | But he was angry, and would not go in: and his father came out, and entreated him. | Udito ciò, egli si adirò e non volle entrare; allora suo padre uscì e lo pregava di entrare. |
| 29 | Mais il répondit à son père: Voici, il y a tant d'années que je te sers, sans avoir jamais contrevenu à ton commandement, et tu ne m'as jamais donné un chevreau pour me réjouir avec mes amis. | But he answered and said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, and I never transgressed a commandment of thine; and [yet] thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: | Ma egli, rispose al padre e disse: "Ecco, son già tanti anni che io ti servo e non ho mai trasgredito alcun tuo comandamento, eppure non mi hai mai dato un capretto per far festa con i miei amici. |
| 30 | Mais quand ton fils, que voilà, qui a mangé son bien avec des femmes débauchées, est revenu, tu as fait tuer le veau gras pour lui. | but when this thy son came, who hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou killedst for him the fatted calf. | Ma quando è tornato questo tuo figlio, che ha divorato i tuoi beni con le meretrici, tu hai ammazzato per lui il vitello ingrassato |
| 31 | Et son père lui dit: Mon fils! tu es toujours avec moi, et tout ce que j'ai est à toi. | And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that is mine is thine. | Allora il padre gli disse: "Figlio, tu sei sempre con me, e ogni cosa mia è tua. |
| 32 | Mais il fallait bien se réjouir et s'égayer, parce que ton frère, que voilà, était mort, et il est revenu à la vie; il était perdu, et il est retrouvé. | But it was meet to make merry and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive [again]; and [was] lost, and is found. | Ma si doveva fare festa e rallegrarsi perché questo tuo fratello era morto ed è tornato in vita, era perduto ed è stato ritrovato". |
