| 1 | Et il arriva que, comme il entrait, un sabbat, dans la maison d'un des principaux des pharisiens pour manger du pain, ils l'observaient. | And it came to pass, when he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a sabbath to eat bread, that they were watching him. | Or avvenne che, come egli entrò in casa di uno dei capi dei farisei in giorno di sabato per mangiare, essi lo osservavano; |
| 2 | Et voici, il y avait un homme hydropique devant lui. | And behold, there was before him a certain man that had the dropsy. | ed ecco, davanti a lui c'era un uomo idropico. |
| 3 | Et Jésus, répondant, parla aux docteurs de la loi et aux pharisiens, disant: Est-il permis de guérir, un jour de sabbat? | And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath, or not? | E Gesù, rispondendo ai dottori della legge e ai farisei, disse: E' lecito guarire in giorno di sabato?. |
| 4 | Et ils se turent. Et l'ayant pris, il le guérit, et le renvoya. | But they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go. | Ma essi tacquero. Allora egli lo prese per mano, lo guarì e lo congedò. |
| 5 | Et répondant, il leur dit: Qui sera celui de vous, qui, ayant un âne ou un boeuf, lequel vienne à tomber dans un puits, ne l'en retire aussitôt le jour du sabbat? | And he said unto them, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a well, and will not straightway draw him up on a sabbath day? | Poi, rispondendo loro disse: Chi di voi se il suo asino o bue cade in un pozzo, non lo tira subito fuori in giorno di sabato?. |
| 6 | Et ils ne pouvaient répliquer à ces choses. | And they could not answer again unto these things. | Ma essi non gli potevano rispondere nulla in merito a queste cose. |
| 7 | Or il dit une parabole aux conviés, observant comment ils choisissaient les premières places; et il leur disait: | And he spake a parable unto those that were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief seats; saying unto them, | Ora, notando come essi sceglievano i primi posti a tavola, propose agli invitati questa parabola, dicendo: |
| 8 | Quand tu seras convié par quelqu'un à des noces, ne te mets pas à table à la première place, de peur qu'un plus honorable que toi ne soit convié par lui, | When thou art bidden of any man to a marriage feast, sit not down in the chief seat; lest haply a more honorable man than thou be bidden of him, | Quando sei invitato a nozze da qualcuno, non metterti al primo posto, perché quel tale potrebbe aver invitato un altro più importante di te, |
| 9 | que celui qui vous a conviés, toi et lui, ne vienne et ne te dise: Fais place à celui-ci; et qu'alors tu ne le mettes avec honte à occuper la dernière place. | and he that bade thee and him shall come and say to thee, Give this man place; and then thou shalt begin with shame to take the lowest place. | e chi ha invitato te e lui non venga a dirti: "Cedi il posto a questi". E allora tu, pieno di vergogna, non vada ad occupare l'ultimo posto. |
| 10 | Mais, quand tu seras convié, va et assieds-toi à la dernière place, afin que, quand celui qui t'a convié viendra, il te dise: Ami, monte plus haut. Alors tu auras de la gloire devant tous ceux qui seront à table avec toi. | But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest place; that when he that hath bidden thee cometh, he may say to thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have glory in the presence of all that sit at meat with thee. | Ma quando sei invitato, va' a metterti all'ultimo posto affinché, venendo chi ti ha invitato, ti dica: "Amico, sali più su Allora ne avrai onore davanti a coloro che sono a tavola con te. |
| 11 | Car quiconque s'élève sera abaissé; et celui qui s'abaisse sera élevé. | For everyone that exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. | Perché chiunque si innalza sarà abbassato e chi si abbassa sarà innalzato. |
| 12 | Et il dit aussi à celui qui l'avait convié: Quand tu fais un dîner ou un souper, n'appelle pas tes amis, ni tes frères, ni tes parents, ni de riches voisins; de peur qu'eux aussi ne te convient à leur tour, et que la pareille ne te soit rendue. | And he said to him also that had bidden him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, nor thy kinsmen, nor rich neighbors; lest haply they also bid thee again, and a recompense be made thee. | Or egli disse a colui che lo aveva invitato: Quando fai un pranzo o una cena, non chiamare i tuoi amici, né i tuoi fratelli, né i tuoi parenti, né i vicini ricchi, affinché essi non invitino a loro volta te, e ti sia reso il contraccambio. |
| 13 | Mais quand tu fais un festin, convie les pauvres, les estropiés, les boiteux, les aveugles; | But when thou makest a feast, bid the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: | Ma quando fai un banchetto, chiama i mendicanti, i mutilati, gli zoppi, i ciechi; |
| 14 | et tu seras bienheureux, car ils n'ont pas de quoi te rendre la pareille: car la pareille te sera rendue en la résurrection des justes. | and thou shalt be blessed; because they have not [wherewith] to recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed in the resurrection of the just. | e sarai beato, perché essi non hanno modo di contraccambiarti; ma il contraccambio ti sarà reso alla risurrezione dei giusti. |
| 15 | Et un de ceux qui étaient à table, ayant entendu ces choses, lui dit: Bienheureux celui qui mangera du pain dans le royaume de Dieu. | And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God. | Or uno dei commensali, udite queste cose, gli disse: Beato chi mangerà del pane nel regno di Dio. |
| 16 | Et il lui dit: Un homme fit un grand souper et y convia beaucoup de gens. | But he said unto him, A certain man made a great supper; and he bade many: | Allora Gesù gli disse: Un uomo fece una gran cena e invitò molti; |
| 17 | Et à l'heure du souper, il envoya son esclave dire aux conviés: Venez, car déjà tout est prêt. | and he sent forth his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for [all] things are now ready. | e, all'ora della cena, mandò il suo servo a dire agli invitati: "Venite, perché è già tutto pronto". |
| 18 | Et ils commencèrent tous unanimement à s'excuser. Le premier lui dit: J'ai acheté un champ, et il faut nécessairement que je m'en aille et que je le voie; je te prie, tiens-moi pour excusé. | And they all with one [consent] began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a field, and I must needs go out and see it; I pray thee have me excused. | Ma tutti allo stesso modo cominciarono a scusarsi. Il primo gli disse: "Ho comprato un podere e devo andare a vederlo; ti prego di scusarmi". |
| 19 | Et un autre dit: J'ai acheté cinq couples de boeufs, et je vais les essayer; je te prie, tiens-moi pour excusé. | And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them; I pray thee have me excused. | E un altro disse: "Ho comprato cinque paia di buoi e vado a provarli; ti prego di scusarmi". |
| 20 | Et un autre dit: J'ai épousé une femme, et à cause de cela je ne puis aller. | And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. | Un altro ancora disse: "Ho preso moglie e perciò non posso venire". |
| 21 | Et l'esclave, s'en étant retourné, rapporta ces choses à son maître. Alors le maître de la maison, en colère, dit à son esclave: Va-t'en promptement dans les rues et dans les ruelles de la ville, et amène ici les pauvres, et les estropiés, et les aveugles, et les boiteux. | And the servant came, and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor and maimed and blind and lame. | Così quel servo tornò e riferì queste cose al suo signore. Allora il padrone di casa, pieno di sdegno, disse al suo servo: "Presto, va' per le piazze e per le strade della città, conduci qua i mendicanti, i mutilati, gli zoppi e i ciechi". |
| 22 | Et l'esclave dit: Maître, il a été fait ainsi que tu as commandé, et il y a encore de la place. | And the servant said, Lord, what thou didst command is done, and yet there is room. | Poi il servo gli disse: "Signore, è stato fatto come hai comandato, ma c'è ancora posto". |
| 23 | Et le maître dit à l'esclave: Va-t'en dans les chemins et le long des haies, et contrains les gens d'entrer, afin que ma maison soit remplie; | And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and constrain [them] to come in, that my house may be filled. | Allora il signore disse al servo: "Va' fuori per le vie e lungo le siepi e costringili ad entrare, affinché la mia casa sia piena. |
| 24 | car je vous dis, qu'aucun de ces hommes qui ont été conviés ne goûtera de mon souper. | For I say unto you, that none of those men that were bidden shall taste of my supper. | Perché io vi dico che nessuno di quegli uomini che erano stati invitati gusterà la mia cena". |
| 25 | Et de grandes foules allaient avec lui. Et se tournant, il leur dit: | Now there went with him great multitudes: and he turned, and said unto them, | Or grandi folle andavano a lui, ed egli si rivolse loro e disse: |
| 26 | Si quelqu'un vient à moi, et ne hait pas son père, et sa mère, et sa femme, et ses enfants, et ses frères, et ses soeurs, et même aussi sa propre vie, il ne peut être mon disciple. | If any man cometh unto me, and hateth not his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. | Se uno viene a me e non odia suo padre e sua madre, moglie e figli fratelli e sorelle e perfino la sua propria vita, non può essere mio discepolo. |
| 27 | Et quiconque ne porte pas sa croix, et ne vient pas après moi, ne peut être mon disciple. | Whosoever doth not bear his own cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. | E chiunque non porta la sua croce e mi segue, non può essere mio discepolo. |
| 28 | Car quel est celui d'entre vous qui, voulant bâtir une tour, ne s'asseye premièrement et ne calcule la dépense, pour voir s'il a de quoi l'achever? | For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doth not first sit down and count the cost, whether he have [wherewith] to complete it? | Chi di voi infatti, volendo edificare una torre, non si siede prima a calcolarne il costo, per vedere se ha abbastanza per portarla a termine? |
| 29 | de peur que, en ayant jeté le fondement et n'ayant pu l'achever, tous ceux qui le voient ne se mettent à se moquer de lui, disant: | Lest haply, when he hath laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all that behold begin to mock him, | Che talora, avendo posto il fondamento e non potendola finire, tutti coloro che la vedono non comincino a beffarsi di lui, |
| 30 | Cet homme a commencé à bâtir, et il n'a pu achever. | saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. | dicendo: "Quest'uomo ha cominciato a costruire e non è stato capace di terminare". |
| 31 | Ou, quel est le roi qui, partant pour faire la guerre à un autre roi, ne s'asseye premièrement et ne délibère s'il peut, avec dix mille hommes, résister à celui qui vient contre lui avec vingt mille? | Or what king, as he goeth to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? | Ovvero quale re, andando a far guerra contro un altro re, non si siede prima a determinare se può con diecimila affrontare colui che gli viene contro con ventimila? |
| 32 | Autrement, pendant qu'il est encore loin, il lui envoie une ambassade et s'informe des conditions de paix. | Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and asketh conditions of peace. | Se no, mentre quello è ancora lontano, gli manda un'ambasciata per trattar la pace. |
| 33 | Ainsi donc, quiconque d'entre vous ne renonce pas à tout ce qu'il a, ne peut être mon disciple. | So therefore whosoever he be of you that renounceth not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. | Così dunque, ognuno di voi che non rinunzia a tutto ciò che ha, non può essere mio discepolo. |
| 34 | Le sel donc est bon; mais si le sel aussi a perdu sa saveur, avec quoi l'assaisonnera-t-on? | Salt therefore is good: but if even the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be seasoned? | Il sale è buono, ma se il sale diviene insipido, con che cosa gli si renderà il sapore? |
| 35 | Il n'est propre, ni pour la terre, ni pour le fumier; on le jette dehors. Qui a des oreilles pour entendre, qu'il entende. | It is fit neither for the land nor for the dunghill: [men] cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. | Esso non serve né per la terra, né per il concime, ma è gettato via. Chi ha orecchi da udire oda. |
