In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.	Sur ces entrefaites, la foule s'étant amassée par milliers, au point qu'on s'écrasait les uns les autres, il se mit à dire d'abord à l'adresse de ses disciples : "Gardez-vous du levain des Pharisiens, qui est l'hypocrisie.	In the mean time, when the many thousands of the multitude were gathered together, insomuch that they trod one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

3	C'est pourquoi tout ce que vous aurez dit dans les ténèbres sera entendu dans la lumière, et ce que vous aurez dit à l'oreille dans les chambres sera prêché sur les toits.	Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.	C'est pourquoi, tout ce que vous aurez dit dans les ténèbres sera entendu au grand jour, et ce que vous aurez dit à l'oreille dans les celliers sera publié sur les toits.	Wherefore whatsoever ye have said in the darkness shall be heard in the light; and what ye have spoken in the ear in the inner chambers shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
4	Je vous dis, à vous qui êtes mes amis : Ne craignez pas ceux qui tuent le corps et qui, après cela, ne peuvent rien faire de plus.	And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5	Je vous montrerai qui vous devez craindre. Craignez celui qui, après avoir tué, a le pouvoir de jeter dans la géhenne ; oui, je vous le dis, c'est lui que vous devez craindre.	But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.	Mais je vais vous apprendre qui vous devez craindre : craignez celui qui, après avoir tué, a le pouvoir de jeter dans la géhenne; oui, je vous le dis, craignez celui-là.	But I will warn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, who after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
6	Ne vend-on pas cinq passereaux pour deux sous ? Cependant, aucun d'eux n'est oublié devant Dieu.	Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? 7	Et même les cheveux de votre tête sont tous comptés. Ne craignez donc point : vous valez plus que beaucoup de passereaux.	But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 9	mais celui qui me reniera devant les hommes sera renié devant les anges de Dieu. 10	Et quiconque parlera contre le Fils de l'homme, il lui sera pardonné ; mais à celui qui blasphémera contre le Saint Esprit il ne sera point pardonné.	And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.	Et quiconque parlera contre le Fils de l'homme, il y aura rémission pour lui; mais pour qui aura blasphémé contre l'Esprit-Saint, il n'y aura pas de rémission.	And every one who shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven.
11	Quand on vous mènera devant les synagogues, les magistrats et les autorités, ne vous inquiétez pas de la manière dont vous vous défendrez ni de ce que vous direz ;	And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:	Quand on vous amènera devant les synagogues, les magistrats et les autorités, ne vous préoccupez pas de la manière dont vous vous défendrez, ni de ce que vous direz;	And when they bring you before the synagogues, and the rulers, and the authorities, be not anxious how or what ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

13	Quelqu'un dit à Jésus, du milieu de la foule : Maître, dis à mon frère de partager avec moi notre héritage.	And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.	De la foule quelqu'un lui dit : "Maître, dites à mon frère de partager avec moi l'héritage."	And one out of the multitude said unto him, Teacher, bid my brother divide the inheritance with me.
14	Jésus lui répondit : O homme, qui m'a établi pour être votre juge, ou pour faire vos partages ?	And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?	Il lui dit : "Homme, qui m'a établi pour être votre juge ou pour faire vos partages ?"	But he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
15	Puis il leur dit : Gardez-vous avec soin de toute avarice ; car la vie d'un homme ne dépend pas de ses biens, fût-il dans l'abondance.	And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.	Et il leur dit : "Faites attention à vous garder de toute avarice; car, quelqu'un serait-il dans l'abondance, sa vie ne dépend pas des biens qu'il possède."	And he said unto them, Take heed, and keep yourselves from all covetousness: for a man`s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
16	Et il leur dit cette parabole : Les terres d'un homme riche avaient beaucoup rapporté.	And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:	Et il leur dit cette parabole : "Il y avait un homme riche dont le domaine avait beaucoup rapporté. 17	Et il raisonnait en lui-même, disant : Que ferai-je ? car je n'ai pas de place pour serrer ma récolte.	And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?	Et il se faisait en lui-même cette réflexion : "Que vais-je faire ? car je n'ai pas où ramasser mes récoltes…	and he reasoned within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have not where to bestow my fruits?
18	Voici, dit-il, ce que je ferai : j'abattrai mes greniers, j'en bâtirai de plus grands, j'y amasserai toute ma récolte et tous mes biens ;	And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.	Voici, dit-il, ce que je fais faire : j'abattrai mes greniers, et j'en construirai de plus grands, et j'y ramasserai tout mon blé et mes biens,	And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my grain and my goods.
19	et je dirai à mon âme : Mon âme, tu as beaucoup de biens en réserve pour plusieurs années ; repose-toi, mange, bois, et réjouis-toi.	And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.	et je dirai à mon âme : Mon âme, tu as beaucoup de biens en réserve pour beaucoup d'années; repose-toi, mange, bois, festoie ! 20	Mais Dieu lui dit : Insensé ! cette nuit même ton âme te sera redemandée ; et ce que tu as préparé, pour qui cela sera-t-il ?	But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?	Or Dieu lui dit : "Insensé ! cette nuit même on va te redemander ton âme; et ce que tu as préparé, pour qui sera-ce ?"	But God said unto him, Thou foolish one, this night is thy soul required of thee; and the things which thou hast prepared, whose shall they be?
21	Il en est ainsi de celui qui amasse des trésors pour lui-même, et qui n'est pas riche pour Dieu.	So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.	Ainsi en est-il de celui qui thésaurise pour lui-même et n'est pas riche en vue de Dieu."	So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
22	Jésus dit ensuite à ses disciples : C'est pourquoi je vous dis : Ne vous inquiétez pas pour votre vie de ce que vous mangerez, ni pour votre corps de quoi vous serez vêtus.	And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.	Et il dit à ses disciples : "C'est pourquoi je vous dis : Ne vous inquiétez pas pour (votre) âme de ce que vous mangerez, ni pour votre cops de quoi vous le vêtirez;	And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for [your] life, what ye shall eat; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.
23	La vie est plus que la nourriture, et le corps plus que le vêtement.	The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.	car l'âme est plus que la nourriture et le corps plus que le vêtement.	For the life is more than the food, and the body than the raiment.
24	Considérez les corbeaux : ils ne sèment ni ne moissonnent, ils n'ont ni cellier ni grenier ; et Dieu les nourrit. Combien ne valez-vous pas plus que les oiseaux !	Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?	Considérez les corbeaux, qui ne sèment ni ne moissonnent, qui n'ont ni cellier ni grenier, et Dieu les nourrit. Combien plus valez-vous que les oiseaux !	Consider the ravens, that they sow not, neither reap; which have no store-chamber nor barn; and God feedeth them: of how much more value are ye than the birds!
25	Qui de vous, par ses inquiétudes, peut ajouter une coudée à la durée de sa vie ?	And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?	Qui de vous, à force soucis, pourrait ajouter une coudée à la longueur de sa vie ?	And which of you by being anxious can add a cubit unto the measure of his life?
26	Si donc vous ne pouvez pas même la moindre chose, pourquoi vous inquiétez-vous du reste ?	If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?	Si donc vous ne pouvez pas le moins, pourquoi vous inquiétez-vous du reste ?	If then ye are not able to do even that which is least, why are ye anxious concerning the rest?
27	Considérez comment croissent les lis : ils ne travaillent ni ne filent ; cependant je vous dis que Salomon même, dans toute sa gloire, n'a pas été vêtu comme l'un d'eux.	Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.	Considérez les lis, comment ils ne filent ni ne tissent; or, je vous le dis, Salomon même dans toute sa gloire n'était pas vêtu comme l'un d'eux.	Consider the lilies, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin; yet I say unto you, Even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28	Si Dieu revêt ainsi l'herbe qui est aujourd'hui dans les champs et qui demain sera jetée au four, à combien plus forte raison ne vous vêtira-t-il pas, gens de peu de foi ?	If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?	Si donc Dieu revêt ainsi, dans les champs, l'herbe qui est aujourd'hui et demain sera jetée au four, combien plus (le fera-t-il) pour vous, gens de peu de foi !	But if God doth so clothe the grass in the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven; how much more [shall he clothe] you, O ye of little faith?
29	Et vous, ne cherchez pas ce que vous mangerez et ce que vous boirez, et ne soyez pas inquiets.	And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.	Vous non plus, ne vous mettez pas en quête de ce que vous mangerez ou ce que vous boirez, et ne soyez pas anxieux.	And seek not ye what ye shall eat, and what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30	Car toutes ces choses, ce sont les païens du monde qui les recherchent. Votre Père sait que vous en avez besoin.	For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.	C'est de tout cela, en effet, que les païens du monde sont en quête; mais votre Père sait que vous avez besoin de cela. 31	Cherchez plutôt le royaume de Dieu ; et toutes ces choses vous seront données par-dessus.	But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. 32	Ne crains point, petit troupeau ; car votre Père a trouvé bon de vous donner le royaume.	Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33	Vendez ce que vous possédez, et donnez-le en aumônes. Faites-vous des bourses qui ne s'usent point, un trésor inépuisable dans les cieux, où le voleur n'approche point, et où la teigne ne détruit point.	Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.	Vendez ce que vous avez, et donnez-le en aumône. Faites-vous des bourses qui ne s'usent pas, un trésor inépuisable dans les cieux, où le voleur n'approche pas et la teigne ne détruit point.	Sell that which ye have, and give alms; make for yourselves purses which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief draweth near, neither moth destroyeth.

36	Et vous, soyez semblables à des hommes qui attendent que leur maître revienne des noces, afin de lui ouvrir dès qu'il arrivera et frappera.	And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. 37	Heureux ces serviteurs que le maître, à son arrivée, trouvera veillant ! Je vous le dis en vérité, il se ceindra, les fera mettre à table, et s'approchera pour les servir.	Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.	Heureux ces serviteurs que le maître, à son arrivée, trouvera veillant ! Je vous le dis en vérité, il se ceindra, les fera mettre à table et passera pour les servir.	Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them sit down to meat, and shall come and serve them.
38	Qu'il arrive à la deuxième ou à la troisième veille, heureux ces serviteurs, s'il les trouve veillant !	And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.	Et si c'est à la deuxième ou à la troisième veille qu'il arrive et (les) trouve ainsi, heureux sont-ils !	And if he shall come in the second watch, and if in the third, and find [them] so blessed are those [servants].
39	Sachez-le bien, si le maître de la maison savait à quelle heure le voleur doit venir, il veillerait et ne laisserait pas percer sa maison.	And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
