Priez donc le maître de la moisson d'envoyer des ouvriers à sa moisson. | And he said unto them, The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest. |

| 5 | En quelque maison que vous entriez, dites d'abord : "Paix à cette maison ! " | And into whatsoever house ye shall enter, first say, Peace [be] to this house. |
| 6 | Et s'il y a là un fils de paix, votre paix reposera sur lui; sinon, elle reviendra sur vous. | And if a son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon him: but if not, it shall turn to you again. |
| 7 | Demeurez dans cette maison, mangeant et buvant de ce qu'il y aura chez eux, car l'ouvrier mérite son salaire. Ne passez pas de maison en maison. | And in that same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. |
| 8 | Et en quelque ville que vous entriez et qu'on vous reçoive, mangez ce qui vous sera servi; | And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: |
| 9 | guérissez les malades qui s'y trouveront, et dites-leur : "Le royaume de Dieu est proche de vous." | and heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. |
| 10 | Et en quelque ville que vous entriez et qu'on ne vous reçoive pas, allez sur les places publiques et dites : | But into whatsoever city ye shall enter, and they receive you not, go out into the streets thereof and say, |
| 11 | "La poussière même de votre ville, qui s'est attachée à nos pieds, nous l'essuyons contre vous; sachez cependant ceci, que le royaume de Dieu est proche." | Even the dust from your city, that cleaveth to our feet, we wipe off against you: nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh. |
| 12 | Je vous le dis : il y aura, en ce jour-là, moins de rigueur pour Sodome que pour cette ville. | I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. |
| 13 | Malheur à toi, Corozaïn ! Malheur à toi, Bethsaïde ! Car si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de vous, avaient été faits dans Tyr et Sidon, il y a longtemps qu'elles auraient fait pénitence, assises avec le sac et la cendre. | Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. |
| 14 | Aussi bien, il y aura, au jugement, moins de rigueur pour Tyr et Sidon que pour vous. | But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment, than for you. |
| 15 | Et toi, Capharnaüm, est-ce que tu seras élevée jusqu'au ciel ? Tu seras abaissée jusqu'aux enfers. | And thou, Capernaum, shalt thou be exalted unto heaven? thou shalt be brought down unto Hades. |
| 16 | Celui qui vous écoute m'écoute, et celui qui vous rejette me rejette; or celui qui me rejette, rejette celui qui m'a envoyé." | He that heareth you heareth me; and he that rejecteth you rejecteth me; and he that rejecteth me rejecteth him that sent me. |
| 17 | Les soixante-dix revinrent tout joyeux, disant : "Seigneur, même les démons nous sont soumis par votre nom." | And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject unto us in thy name. |
| 18 | Il leur dit : "Je voyais Satan qui tombait du ciel comme un éclair. | And he said unto them, I beheld Satan fallen as lightning from heaven. |
| 19 | Voici que je vous ai donné le pouvoir de marcher sur les serpents et les scorpions, (le pouvoir) aussi sur toute la puissance de l'ennemi, et rien ne pourra vous nuire. | Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you. |
| 20 | Du reste, ne vous réjouissez pas de ce que les esprits vous sont soumis, mais réjouissez-vous de ce que vos noms sont écrits dans les cieux." | Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. |
| 21 | Au même moment, il tressaillit de joie par l'Esprit-Saint, et il dit : "Je vous bénis, Père, Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, de ce que vous avez caché ces choses aux sages et aux prudents, et les avez révélées aux simples. Oui, Père, car tel fut votre bon plaisir. | In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes: yea, Father; for so it was well-pleasing in thy sight. |
| 22 | Toutes choses m'ont été remises par mon Père; et personne ne sait ce qu'est le Fils, si ce n'est le Père, ni ce qu'est le Père, si ce n'est le Fils, et celui à qui le Fils aura bien voulu le révéler." | All things have been delivered unto me of my Father: and no one knoweth who the Son is, save the Father; and who the Father is, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son willeth to reveal [him]. |
| 23 | Et se tournant vers les disciples, il leur dit en particulier : "Heureux les yeux qui voient ce que vous voyez ! | And turning to the disciples, he said privately, Blessed [are] the eyes which see the things that ye see: |
| 24 | Car, je vous le dis, beaucoup de prophètes et de rois ont voulu voir ce que vous, vous voyez, et ne l'ont pas vu, entendre ce que vous entendez, et ne l'ont pas entendu." | for I say unto you, that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which ye see, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye hear, and heard them not. |
| 25 | Et voici qu'un docteur de la Loi se leva, et, pour l'embarrasser, lui dit : Maître, que dois-je faire pour posséder la vie éternelle ? | And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and made trial of him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? |
| 26 | Il lui dit : "Qu'y a-t-il d'écrit dans la Loi ? Qu'y lis-tu ?" | And he said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? |
| 27 | Il répondit : "Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout coeur, de toute ton âme, de toute ta force et de tout ton esprit, et ton proche comme toi-même." | And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself. |
| 28 | Il lui dit : "Tu as bien répondu : fais cela et tu vivras." | And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. |
| 29 | Mais lui, voulant se justifier, dit à Jésus : "Et qui est mon proche ?" | But he, desiring to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor? |
| 30 | Jésus reprit et dit : "Un homme descendait de Jérusalem à Jéricho; il tomba entre les mains de brigands qui, après l'avoir dépouillé et chargé de coups, s'en allèrent, le laissant à demi-mort. | Jesus made answer and said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho; and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. |
| 31 | Or, par hasard, un prêtre descendait par ce chemin; il le vit et passa outre. | And by chance a certain priest was going down that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. |
| 32 | De même un lévite aussi vint en ce lieu, le fit et passa outre. | And in like manner a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side. |
| 33 | Mais un Samaritain, qui était en voyage, vint près de lui, le vit et fut touché de compassion. | But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he was moved with compassion, |
| 34 | Il s'approcha, banda ses blessures, y versant de l'huile et du vin; puis il le mit sur sa propre monture, le conduisit dans une hôtellerie et prit soin de lui. | and came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on [them] oil and wine; and he set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. |
| 35 | Le lendemain, tirant deux deniers, il les donna à l'hôtelier et lui dit : Prends soin de lui, et ce que tu pourrais dépenser en plus, c'est moi qui te le rembourserai à mon retour. | And on the morrow he took out two shillings, and gave them to the host, and said, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, I, when I come back again, will repay thee. |
| 36 | Lequel de ces trois te semble avoir été le proche de l'homme qui était tombé aux mains des brigands ?" | Which of these three, thinkest thou, proved neighbor unto him that fell among the robbers? |
| 37 | Il dit : "Celui qui a pratiqué la miséricorde envers lui."Et Jésus lui dit : Va, toi aussi fais de même. | And he said, He that showed mercy on him. And Jesus said unto him, Go, and do thou likewise. |
| 38 | Pendant qu'ils étaient en chemin, il entra dans un certain bourg, et une femme, nommée Marthe, le reçut dans sa maison. | Now as they went on their way, he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. |
| 39 | Elle avait une soeur, appelée Marie, qui, s'étant même assise aux pieds du Seigneur, écoutait sa parole. | And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at the Lord`s feet, and heard his word. |
| 40 | Marthe, qui était occupée par maint service, se présenta, disant : Seigneur, vous n'avez cure que ma soeur me laissait seule faire le service ? Dites-lui donc de m'aider. | But Martha was cumbered about much serving; and she came up to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister did leave me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. |
| 41 | Le Seigneur lui répondit : "Marthe, Marthe, vous vous inquiétez et vous agitez pour beaucoup de choses ! | But the Lord answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubled about many things: |
| 42 | Or il n'est besoin que de peu de choses ou d'une seule. Marie en effet a choisi la bonne part, qui ne lui sera point ôtée." | but one thing is needful: for Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her. |
