| 1 | And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, | L'Eterno parlò ancora a Mosè, dicendo: |
| 2 | Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy; for I Jehovah your God am holy. | Parla a tutta l'assemblea dei figli d'Israele e di' loro: Siate santi, perché io, l'Eterno, il vostro DIO, sono santo. |
| 3 | Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father; and ye shall keep my sabbaths: I am Jehovah your God. | Ognuno di voi rispetti sua madre e suo padre e osservate i miei sabati. Io sono l'Eterno, il vostro DIO. |
| 4 | Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am Jehovah your God. | Non rivolgetevi a idoli e non fatevi degli dèi di metallo fuso. Io sono l'Eterno, il vostro DIO. |
| 5 | And when ye offer a sacrifice of peace-offerings unto Jehovah, ye shall offer it that ye may be accepted. | Quando offrite un sacrificio di ringraziamento all'Eterno, l'offrirete in modo da essere graditi. |
| 6 | It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if aught remain until the third day, it shall be burnt with fire. | Lo si mangerà il giorno stesso che lo offrite e il giorno seguente; e se rimane qualcosa fino al terzo giorno, lo brucerete col fuoco. |
| 7 | And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination; it shall not be accepted: | Se si mangia alcuna parte di esso il terzo giorno è cosa abominevole; il sacrificio non sarà gradito. |
| 8 | but every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the holy thing of Jehovah: and that soul shall be cut off from his people. | Chiunque perciò ne mangia porterà la pena della sua iniquità, perché ha profanato ciò che è sacro all'Eterno; quel tale sarà sterminato di mezzo al suo popolo. |
| 9 | And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleaning of thy harvest. | Quando mieterete la messe della vostra terra, non mieterai fino ai margini del tuo campo e non raccoglierai le spighe lasciate indietro del tuo raccolto; |
| 10 | And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather the fallen fruit of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am Jehovah your God. | e nella tua vigna non vi ripasserai, né raccoglierai i grappoli rimasti indietro della tua vigna; li lascerai per il povero e per il forestiero. Io sono l'Eterno, il vostro DIO. |
| 11 | Ye shall not steal; neither shall ye deal falsely, nor lie one to another. | Non ruberete, non mentirete e non ingannerete l'un l'altro. |
| 12 | And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah. | Non giurerete il falso nel mio nome, né profanerai il nome del tuo DIO. Io sono l'Eterno. |
| 13 | Thou shalt not oppress thy neighbor, nor rob him: the wages of a hired servant shall not abide with thee all night until the morning. | Non opprimerai il tuo prossimo e non lo deruberai; il salario dell'operaio non rimanga presso di te fino al mattino seguente. |
| 14 | Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind; but thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah. | Non maledirai il sordo e non metterai alcun inciampo davanti al cieco, ma temerai il tuo DIO. Io sono l'Eterno. |
| 15 | Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty; but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbor. | Non farete ingiustizia nel giudicare; non userai parzialità col povero né presterai onore alla persona del potente; ma giudicherai il tuo prossimo con giustizia. |
| 16 | Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor: I am Jehovah. | Non andrai in giro calunniando fra il tuo popolo, né prenderai posizione contro la vita del tuo prossimo. Io sono l'Eterno. |
| 17 | Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart: thou shalt surely rebuke thy neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. | Non odierai il tuo fratello nel tuo cuore; riprendi pure il tuo prossimo, ma non tirarti addosso alcun peccato per causa sua. |
| 18 | Thou shalt not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people; but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am Jehovah. | Non farai vendetta e non serberai rancore contro i figli del tuo popolo, ma amerai il tuo prossimo come te stesso. Io sono l'Eterno. |
| 19 | Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with two kinds of seed: neither shall there come upon thee a garment of two kinds of stuff mingled together. | Osserverete i miei statuti. Non accoppierai bestie di specie diverse; non seminerai il tuo campo con tipi diversi di seme, né indosserai alcun vestito tessuto con materiali diversi. |
| 20 | And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to a husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; they shall be punished; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. | Se uno ha relazioni carnali con una donna che sia schiava promessa a un uomo, ma che non è stata riscattata e non ha ricevuto la libertà, saranno ambedue puniti, ma non saranno messi a morte, perché ella non era libera. |
| 21 | And he shall bring his trespass-offering unto Jehovah, unto the door of the tent of meeting, even a ram for a trespass-offering. | L'uomo porterà all'Eterno, all'ingresso della tenda di convegno, come sacrificio per la trasgressione, un montone; |
| 22 | And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering before Jehovah for his sin which he hath sinned: and the sin which he hath sinned shall be forgiven him. | col montone del sacrificio per la trasgressione il sacerdote farà per lui l'espiazione davanti all'Eterno per il peccato che egli ha commesso; e il peccato che ha commesso gli sarà perdonato. |
| 23 | And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as their uncircumcision: three years shall they be as uncircumcised unto you; it shall not be eaten. | Quando sarete entrati nel paese e avrete piantato ogni sorta di alberi da frutto, considererete i loro frutti come non circoncisi; per tre anni saranno per voi come non circoncisi; no si dovranno mangiare. |
| 24 | But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy, for giving praise unto Jehovah. | Ma il quarto anno tutti i loro frutti saranno santificati; saranno per la lode dell'Eterno. |
| 25 | And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am Jehovah your God. | Il quinto anno mangerete i loro frutti, affinché il loro prodotto possa crescere. Io sono l'Eterno, il vostro DIO. |
| 26 | Ye shall not eat anything with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantments, nor practise augury. | Non mangerete nulla che contenga sangue. Non praticherete alcun genere di divinazione o di magia. |
| 27 | Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard. | Non taglierete in tondo i capelli ai lati del capo, né spunterai gli orli della tua barba. |
| 28 | Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am Jehovah. | Non farete incisioni nella vostra carne per un morto, né farete alcun tatuaggio su di voi. Io sono l'Eterno. |
| 29 | Profane not thy daughter, to make her a harlot; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness. | Non contaminare la tua figlia, facendola divenire una prostituta, affinché il paese non si dia alla prostituzione e il paese non si riempia di scelleratezze. |
| 30 | Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary; I am Jehovah. | Osserverete i miei sabati e porterete rispetto al mio santuario. Io sono l'Eterno. |
| 31 | Turn ye not unto them that have familiar spirits, nor unto the wizards; seek them not out, to be defiled by them: I am Jehovah your God. | Non rivolgetevi ai medium e ai maghi; non consultateli, per non contaminarvi per mezzo loro. Io sono l'Eterno, il vostro DIO. |
| 32 | Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah. | Alzati davanti al capo canuto, onora la persona del vecchio e temi il tuo DIO. Io sono l'Eterno. |
| 33 | And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not do him wrong. | Quando uno straniero risiede con voi nel vostro paese, non lo maltratterete. |
| 34 | The stranger that sojourneth with you shall be unto you as the home-born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God. | Lo straniero che risiede fra voi, lo tratterete come colui che è nato fra voi; tu l'amerai come te stesso, poiché anche voi foste stranieri nel paese d'Egitto. Io sono l'Eterno, il vostro DIO. |
| 35 | Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity. | Non farete ingiustizia nei giudizi con le misure di lunghezza, di peso e di capacità. |
| 36 | Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. | Avrete bilance giuste, pesi giusti, efa giusto, hin giusto. Io sono l'Eterno, il vostro DIO, che vi ho fatto uscire dal paese d'Egitto. |
| 37 | And ye shall observe all my statutes, and all mine ordinances, and do them: I am Jehovah. | Osserverete dunque tutti i miei statuti e tutti i miei decreti e li metterete in pratica. Io sono l'Eterno. |
