| 1 | And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, | Poi l'Eterno parlò a Mosè e ad Aaronne, dicendo loro: |
| 2 | Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. | Parlate ai figli d'Israele e dite: Questi sono gli animali che potrete mangiare fra tutte le bestie che sono sulla terra. |
| 3 | Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat. | Potete mangiare di ogni animale che ha lo zoccolo spaccato e il piede diviso e che rumina. |
| 4 | Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. | Ma fra quelli che ruminano e fra quelli che hanno lo zoccolo spaccato, non mangerete questi: il cammello, perché rumina, ma non ha lo zoccolo spaccato; per voi è impuro; |
| 5 | And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. | il coniglio, perché rumina, ma non ha lo zoccolo spaccato; per voi è impuro; |
| 6 | And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. | la lepre, perché rumina, ma non ha lo zoccolo spaccato; per voi è impura; |
| 7 | And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. | il porco, perché ha lo zoccolo spaccato e il piede diviso, ma non rumina; per voi è impuro. |
| 8 | Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you. | Non mangerete della loro carne e non toccherete i loro corpi morti; per voi essi sono impuri. |
| 9 | These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. | Questi potete mangiare fra tutti gli animali che sono nell'acqua. Potete mangiare tutti quelli che nell'acqua hanno pinne e squame, tanto nei mari che nei fiumi. |
| 10 | And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: | Ma tutti quelli che non hanno né pinne né squame, tanto nei mari che nei fiumi, tutti quelli che si muovono nell'acqua e tutti quelli che vivono nell'acqua sono un abominio per voi. |
| 11 | They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. | Essi saranno un abominio per voi; non mangerete della loro carne e avrete in abominio i loro corpi morti. |
| 12 | Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you. | Tutto ciò che nell'acqua non ha pinne e squame sarà un abominio per voi. |
| 13 | And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray, | Fra gli uccelli avrete in abominio questi; non si devono mangiare, sono un abominio: l'aquila, l'ossifraga e il falco pescatore; |
| 14 | And the vulture, and the kite after his kind; | Il nibbio e ogni specie di falchi; |
| 15 | Every raven after his kind; | ogni specie di corvi; |
| 16 | And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind, | lo struzzo, il barbagianni, il gabbiano e ogni specie di sparvieri; |
| 17 | And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl, | il gufo, il cormorano l'ibis; |
| 18 | And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle, | il cigno, il pellicano, l'avvoltoio; |
| 19 | And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat. | la cicogna, ogni specie di aironi, l'upupa e il pipistrello. |
| 20 | All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you. | Vi sarà pure in abominio ogni insetto alato che cammina su quattro zampe. |
| 21 | Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth; | Però, fra tutti gli insetti alati che camminano su quattro piedi, potete mangiare quelli che hanno le gambe sopra i piedi per saltare sulla terra. |
| 22 | Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind. | Di questi potete mangiare: ogni specie di locuste, ogni specie di cavallette, ogni specie di grilli e ogni specie di acridi. |
| 23 | But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you. | Ogni altro insetto alato che ha quattro zampe sarà un abominio per voi. |
| 24 | And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even. | Questi animali vi renderanno impuri; chiunque tocca il loro corpo morto sarà impuro fino alla sera. |
| 25 | And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even. | Chiunque trasporta i loro corpi morti si laverà le vesti, e sarà impuro fino alla sera. |
| 26 | The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean. | Ogni animale che ha lo zoccolo spaccato, ma non ha il piede diviso e che non rumina è impuro per voi; chiunque lo toccherà sarà impuro. |
| 27 | And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even. | Fra tutti gli animali quadrupedi, quelli che camminano sulla pianta dei piedi sono impuri per voi; chiunque tocca il loro corpo morto sarà impuro fino alla sera. |
| 28 | And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you. | Chiunque trasporta il loro corpo morto si laverà le vesti e sarà impuro fino alla sera. Per voi essi sono impuri. |
| 29 | These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind, | Fra gli animali che strisciano sulla terra, questi sono impuri per voi: la talpa, Il topo e ogni specie di lucertola. |
| 30 | And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole. | il geco, il varano, la lucertola, la lumaca e il camaleonte. |
| 31 | These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even. | Questi animali fra tutti quelli che strisciano sono impuri per voi; chiunque li tocca quando sono morti, sarà impuro fino alla sera. |
| 32 | And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed. | Qualsiasi cosa su cui uno di essi cadesse quando sono morti sarà impura; sia essa un utensile di legno o vestito o pelle o sacco o qualsiasi oggetto usato per lavoro, dev'essere messa in acqua, e sarà impura fino alla sera; poi sarà pura. |
| 33 | And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it. | Qualsiasi vaso d'argilla entro cui uno di essi cade, lo romperete; e tutto ciò che si trova in esso sarà impuro. |
| 34 | Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean. | Ogni cibo commestibile su cui cade l'acqua di tale vaso sarà impuro; e ogni sorso che possa essere preso da esso sarà impuro. |
| 35 | And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean and shall be unclean unto you. | Qualsiasi cosa su cui cada una parte del loro corpo morto, sia essa il forno o il fornello, sarà spezzato; essi sono impuri e saranno da voi ritenuti impuri. |
| 36 | Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean. | Però una fonte o una cisterna, dove si raccoglie acqua sarà pura, ma qualunque cosa tocca i loro corpi morti sarà impura. |
| 37 | And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean. | E se una parte dei loro corpi morti cade su qualsiasi semente da seminare, questa rimarrà pura; |
| 38 | But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you. | ma se è messa dell'acqua sulla semente e se una parte dei loro corpi morti vi cade sopra è impura per voi. |
| 39 | And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even. | Se muore un animale che vi è permesso mangiare, colui che ne toccherà il corpo morto sarà impuro fino alla sera. |
| 40 | And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even. | Colui che mangia di quel corpo morto laverà le sue vesti e sarà impuro fino alla sera; parimenti colui che trasporta quel corpo morto laverà le sue vesti e sarà impuro fino alla sera. |
| 41 | And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten. | Ogni cosa che striscia sulla terra un abominio; non lo dovete mangiare. |
| 42 | Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination. | Fra tutti gli animali che strisciano sulla terra, non mangerete alcuno di quei che camminano sul ventre, che camminano su quattro zampe, o di quelli che hanno molte zampe, poiché sono un abominio. |
| 43 | Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby. | Non rendetevi abominevoli con alcuno di questi animali che strisciano; non rendetevi impuri con essi, così da divenire contaminati. |
| 44 | For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. | Poiché io sono l'Eterno, il vostro DIO; santificatevi dunque e siate santi, perché io sono santo; non contaminatevi con alcuno di questi animali che strisciano sulla terra. |
| 45 | For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. | Poiché io sono l'Eterno che vi ho fatto salire dal paese d'Egitto, per essere il vostro DIO; siate dunque santi, perché io sono santo. |
| 46 | This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth: | Questa è la legge relativa ai quadrupedi, agli uccelli e a ogni essere vivente che si muove nelle acque, e a ogni essere che striscia sulla terra. |
| 47 | To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten. | affinché sappiate distinguere tra l'impuro e il puro, e tra l'animale che si può mangiare e quello che non si deve mangiare. |
