Elle a dit : Je monterai, je couvrirai la terre, Je détruirai les villes et leurs habitants. | Egypt riseth up like the Nile, and his waters toss themselves like the rivers: and he saith, I will rise up, I will cover the earth; I will destroy cities and the inhabitants thereof. |

Car le Seigneur, Jéhovah des armées, fait une immolation Au pays du septentrion, sur le fleuve d'Euphrate. | For that day is [a day] of the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour and be satiate, and shall drink its fill of their blood; for the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates. |

| 14 | Publiez-la en Egypte, Faites-la entendre à Migdol, Faites-la entendre à Noph et à Taphnès; Dites : A vos rangs, tenez-vous prêts; Déjà l'épée a dévoré tes voisins! | Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand forth, and prepare thee; for the sword hath devoured round about thee. |
| 15 | Quoi, ton héros est renversé, il ne s'est pas tenu debout, Car Jéhovah l'a jeté par terre. | Why are thy strong ones swept away? they stood not, because Jehovah did drive them. |
| 16 | Il multiplie ceux qui trébuchent; Ils tombent les uns sur les autres, et ils disent : Allons, retournons vers notre peuple Et dans notre pays natal, Loin de l'épée homicide. | He made many to stumble, yea, they fell one upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword. |

| 19 | Prépare ton bagage de captive, Habitante, fille de l'Egypte; Car Noph va devenir un désert; Elle sera brûlée et sans habitants. | O thou daughter that dwellest in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity; for Memphis shall become a desolation, and shall be burnt up, without inhabitant. |

| 21 | Ses mercenaires au milieu d'elle sont aussi comme des veaux engraissés; Eux aussi tournent le dos, Ils fuient tous ensemble; ils ne résistent point, Car il est venu sur eux le jour de leur calamité, Le temps du châtiment. | Also her hired men in the midst of her are like calves of the stall; for they also are turned back, they are fled away together, they did not stand: for the day of their calamity is come upon them, the time of their visitation. |

| 25 | Jéhovah des armées, Dieu d'Israël, a dit : Je vais visiter Amon de No, Et Pharaon, et l'Egypte, et ses dieux, et ses rois, Et Pharaon, et ceux qui mettent en lui leur confiance. | Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saith: Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods, and her kings; even Pharaoh, and them that trust in him: |
| 26 | Et je les livrerai à ceux qui en veulent à leur vie, A Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, et à ses serviteurs. - Et après cela, elle sera habitée comme aux jours d'autrefois, Dit Jéhovah. | and I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants; and afterwards it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith Jehovah. |
| 27 | Et toi, ne crains pas, Jacob, mon serviteur; Ne t'effraie pas, Israël; Car je te tirerai du pays lointain, Et ta postérité de la terre de son exil; Jacob reviendra et vivra en paix et en sécurité, Sans que personne te trouble. | But fear not thou, O Jacob my servant, neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid. |
