| 2 | s'approchèrent et dirent à Jérémie : "Que notre prière soit agréée devant toi, et intercède en notre faveur auprès de Jéhovah, ton Dieu, pour tout ce reste de Juda; car, de beaucoup que nous étions, nous sommes réduits à un petit nombre, comme tes yeux nous voient; | and said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we pray thee, our supplication be presented before thee, and pray for us unto Jehovah thy God, even for all this remnant; for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us: |

| 4 | Jérémie, le prophète, leur répondit : "J'ai entendu; je vais prier Jéhovah, votre Dieu, selon votre demande, et tout ce que Jéhovah vous répondra, je vous le ferai. connaître, sans vous rien cacher." | Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto Jehovah your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass that whatsoever thing Jehovah shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you. |

| 6 | Que ce soit du bien ou du mal, nous obéirons à la voix de Jéhovah, vers qui nous t'envoyons; afin qu'il nous arrive du bien, en obéissant à la voix de Jéhovah, notre Dieu." | Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of Jehovah our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of Jehovah our God. |

| 9 | Ainsi, parle Jéhovah, Dieu d'Israël, vers qui vous m'avez envoyé pour lui porter votre prière: | and said unto them, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, unto whom ye sent me to present your supplication before him: |
| 10 | Si vous continuez à demeurer dans ce pays, je vous établirai et ne vous détruirai point, je vous planterai et ne vous arracherai point, car je me repens du mal que je vous ai fait. | If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up; for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you. |
| 11 | Ne craignez pas le roi de Babylone, dont vous avez peur; ne le craignez point, dit Jéhovah, car Je suis avec vous pour vous sauver et vous délivrer de sa main. | Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid; be not afraid of him, saith Jehovah: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand. |
| 12 | Je vous ferai obtenir compassion, et il aura compassion de vous, et il vous fera retourner dans votre pays. | And I will grant you mercy, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land. |
| 13 | Que si vous dites : Nous ne demeurerons pas dans ce pays, de telle sorte que vous n'obéissiez pas à la voix de Jéhovah; | But if ye say, We will not dwell in this land; so that ye obey not the voice of Jehovah your God, |
| 14 | si vous dites : Non! Mais nous irons au pays d'Egypte, où nous ne verrons point de guerre, où nous n'entendrons pas le son de la trompette, où nous ne sentirons pas la faim, et c'est là que nous habiterons, -- | saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell: |
| 15 | alors écoutez la parole de Jéhovah, vous, les restes de Juda : Ainsi parle Jéhovah des armées, Dieu d'Israël : Si vous vous obstinez à vouloir aller en Egypte : et que vous y entriez pour y habiter, | now therefore hear ye the word of Jehovah, O remnant of Judah: Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, If ye indeed set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there; |
| 16 | l'épée des Chaldéens que vous craignez vous atteindra là, au pays d'Egypte, et la famine que vous redoutez s'attachera à vous là, en Egypte, et vous y mourrez. | then it shall come to pass, that the sword, which ye fear, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt; and the famine, whereof ye are afraid, shall follow hard after you there in Egypt; and there ye shall die. |
| 17 | Tous ceux qui auront voulu entrer en Egypte pour y habiter mourront par l'épée, par la famine et la peste, et il n'y en aura aucun qui survive et qui échappe au mal que je ferai venir sur eux. | So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there: they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence; and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them. |
| 18 | Car ainsi parle Jéhovah des armées, Dieu d'Israël : Comme ma colère et ma fureur ont fondu sur les habitants de Jérusalem, ainsi ma fureur fondra sur vous quand vous serez entrés en Egypte; vous serez un objet d'exécration, de stupéfaction, de malédiction et d'outrages, et vous ne reverrez plus ce lieu-ci. - | For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: As mine anger and my wrath hath been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so shall my wrath be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt; and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more. |

| 20 | Car vous vous abusiez vous-mêmes, lorsque vous m'avez envoyé vers Jéhovah, notre Dieu, en disant : Intercède en notre faveur auprès de Jéhovah, notre Dieu, et tout ce que Jéhovah, notre Dieu, te dira, déclare-le-nous, et nous le ferons. | For ye have dealt deceitfully against your own souls; for ye sent me unto Jehovah your God, saying, Pray for us unto Jehovah our God; and according unto all that Jehovah our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it: |
| 21 | Je vous l'ai déclaré aujourd'hui; mais vous n'avez point obéi à la voix de Jéhovah, votre Dieu, ni à rien de ce qu'il vous a commandé. | and I have this day declared it to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah your God in anything for which he hath sent me unto you. |
| 22 | Sachez donc bien maintenant que vous mourrez par l'épée, par la famine et par la peste, au lieu où il vous a plu d'aller pour y habiter. | Now therefore know certainly that ye shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place whither ye desire to go to sojourn there. |
