| 1 | Et Shephatia, fils de Matthan, et Guedalia, fils de Pashkhur, et Jucal, fils de Shélémia, et Pashkhur, fils de Malkija, entendirent les paroles que Jérémie disait à tout le peuple, disant: | And Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashhur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur the son of Malchijah, heard the words that Jeremiah spake unto all the people, saying, | Scefatiah figlio di Mattan, Ghedaliah figlio di Pashhur, Jukal figlio di Scelemiah e Pashhur figlio di Malkiah udirono le parole che Geremia rivolgeva a tutto il popolo, dicendo: |
| 2 | Ainsi dit l'Éternel: Celui qui demeurera dans cette ville mourra par l'épée, par la famine, ou par la peste; et celui qui sortira vers les Chaldéens vivra, et aura sa vie pour butin et vivra. | Thus saith Jehovah, He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence; but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey, and he shall live. | Così dice l'Eterno: Chi rimarrà in questa città morirà di spada, di fame o di peste, ma chi si consegnerà ai Caldei vivrà; avrà come suo bottino la propria vita, ma vivrà. |
| 3 | Ainsi dit l'Éternel: Cette ville sera livrée certainement en la main de l'armée du roi de Babylone, et il la prendra. | Thus saith Jehovah, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the army of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it. | Così dice l'Eterno: Questa città sarà certamente data in mano dell'esercito del re di Babilonia, che la prenderà. |
| 4 | Et les princes dirent au roi: Qu'on fasse donc mourir cet homme! car pourquoi rend-il lâches les mains des hommes de guerre qui sont de reste dans cette ville, et les mains de tout le peuple, en leur parlant selon ces paroles? car cet homme ne cherche point la prospérité de ce peuple, mais le mal. | Then the princes said unto the king, Let this man, we pray thee, be put to death; forasmuch as he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt. | I principi allora dissero al re: Deh, sia quest'uomo messo a morte, perché indebolisce le mani degli uomini di guerra che sono rimasti in questa città, e le mani di tutto il popolo, dicendo loro simili parole. Quest'uomo non cerca il benessere di questo popolo, ma il suo male. |
| 5 | Et le roi Sédécias dit: Voici, il est entre vos mains; car le roi ne peut rien contre vous. | And Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand; for the king is not he that can do anything against you. | Allora il re Sedekia disse: Eccolo nelle vostre mani, perché il re non può fare nulla contro di voi. |
| 6 | Et ils prirent Jérémie et le jetèrent dans la fosse de Malkija, fils d'Hammélec, laquelle était dans la cour de la prison; et ils descendirent Jérémie avec des cordes; et il n'y avait point d'eau dans la fosse, mais de la boue, et Jérémie enfonça dans la boue. | Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchijah the king`s son, that was in the court of the guard: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire. | Allora essi presero Geremia e lo gettarono nella cisterna di Malkiah, figlio del re, che era nel cortile della prigione; vi calarono Geremia con le corde. | 7 | Et Ebed-Mélec, l'Éthiopien, un eunuque, qui était dans la maison du roi, apprit qu'ils avaient mis Jérémie dans la fosse; et le roi était assis dans la porte de Benjamin. | Now when Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, a eunuch, who was in the king`s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon (the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin,) | Or Ebed-melek l'Etiope, un eunuco che stava nella casa del re, udì che avevano messo Geremia nella cisterna. | 8 | Et Ebed-Mélec sortit de la maison du roi, et parla au roi, disant: | Ebed-melech went forth out of the king`s house, and spake to the king, saying, | Ebed-melek uscì dalla casa del re e parlò al re, dicendo: |
| 9 | O roi, mon seigneur! ces hommes ont mal fait dans tout ce qu'ils ont fait à Jérémie le prophète, qu'ils ont jeté dans la fosse; il mourra là où il est, à cause de la famine, car il n'y a plus de pain dans la ville. | My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die in the place where he is, because of the famine; for there is no more bread in the city. | O re, mio signore, quegli uomini hanno agito male in tutto ciò che hanno fatto al profeta Geremia, gettandolo nella cisterna; egli morirà di fame là dentro, perché non c'è più pane in città. |
| 10 | Et le roi commanda à Ebed-Mélec, l'Éthiopien, disant: Prends d'ici trente hommes sous tes ordres, et fais monter Jérémie le prophète hors de la fosse, avant qu'il meure. | Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die. | Allora il re diede quest'ordine a Ebed-melek l'Etiope: Prendi con te da qui trenta uomini e tira su il profeta Geremia dalla cisterna prima che muoia. |
| 11 | Et Ebed-Mélec prit les hommes sous ses ordres, et alla dans la maison du roi, au-dessous du trésor. Et il prit de là de vieux lambeaux d'étoffes et de vieux haillons, et les descendit avec des cordes à Jérémie dans la fosse; | So Ebed-melech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence rags and worn-out garments, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah. | Così Ebed-melek prese con sé gli uomini, entrò nella casa del re al di sotto della tesoreria, prese di là panni logori e stracci logori e li calò a Geremia nella cisterna con le corde. |
| 12 | et Ebed-Mélec, l'Éthiopien, dit à Jérémie: Mets ces vieux lambeaux et ces haillons sous les aisselles de tes bras, sous les cordes. | And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these rags and worn-out garments under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so. | Poi Ebed-melek l'Etiope disse a Geremia: Deh, mettiti questi panni e stracci logori sotto le ascelle, sotto le funi. Geremia fece così. |
| 13 | Et Jérémie fit ainsi. Et ils tirèrent Jérémie dehors avec les cordes, et le firent monter hors de la fosse. Et Jérémie habita dans la cour de la prison. | So they drew up Jeremiah with the cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard. | Così tirarono su Geremia con le corde e lo fecero salire dalla cisterna. Geremia rimase poi nel cortile della prigione. |
| 14 | Et le roi Sédécias envoya, et se fit amener Jérémie le prophète, à la troisième entrée qui était dans la maison de l'Éternel. Et le roi dit à Jérémie: Je te demanderai une chose; ne me cache rien. | Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet unto him into the third entry that is in the house of Jehovah: and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask thee a thing; hide nothing from me. | Allora il re Sedekia mandò a prendere il profeta Geremia e lo fece venire al terzo ingresso della casa dell'Eterno. Il re disse a Geremia: Ti domando una cosa; non nascondermi nulla. |
| 15 | Et Jérémie dit à Sédécias: Si je te déclare, ne me feras-tu pas mourir? Et si je te donne un conseil, tu ne m'écouteras pas. | Then Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto thee, wilt thou not surely put me to death? and if I give thee counsel, thou wilt not hearken unto me. | Geremia rispose a Sedekia: Se te la dico, non mi farai certamente morire? Se poi ti do un consiglio, non mi darai ascolto. |
| 16 | Et le roi Sédécias jura secrètement à Jérémie, disant: L'Éternel est vivant, qui a fait notre âme: si je te fais mourir, et si je te livre en la main de ces hommes qui cherchent ta vie! | So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As Jehovah liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life. | Così il re Sedekia giurò in segreto a Geremia, dicendo: Com'è vero che vive l'Eterno, che ci ha dato questa vita, non ti farò morire e non ti darò in mano di questi uomini che cercano la tua vita. |
| 17 | Et Jérémie dit à Sédécias: Ainsi dit l'Éternel, le Dieu des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: Si tu sors franchement vers les princes du roi de Babylone, ton âme vivra et cette ville ne sera point brûlée par le feu, mais tu vivras, toi et ta maison. | Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: If thou wilt go forth unto the king of Babylon`s princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thy house. | Allora Geremia disse a Sedekia: Così dice l'Eterno, il DIO degli eserciti, il DIO d'Israele,: Se ti consegni ai principi del re di Babilonia, avrai salva la vita; questa città non sarà data alle fiamme e vivrai tu con la tua casa, |
| 18 | Mais si tu ne sors pas vers les princes du roi de Babylone, cette ville sera livrée en la main des Chaldéens, et ils la brûleront par le feu; et toi, tu n'échapperas à leur main. | But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon`s princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand. | ma se non ti consegnerai ai principi del re di Babilonia, questa città sarà data in mano dei Caldei che la daranno alle fiamme, e tu non scamperai dalle loro mani, |
| 19 | Et le roi Sédécias dit à Jérémie: Je crains les Juifs qui se sont rendus aux Chaldéens; j'ai peur qu'on ne me livre en leur main, et qu'ils ne me maltraitent. | And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen away to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me. | Il re Sedekia disse a Geremia: Ho paura dei Giudei che hanno disertato dalla parte dei Caldei, temo di essere dato nelle loro mani e che essi mi maltrattino. |
| 20 | Et Jérémie dit: On ne te livrera point; écoute, je te prie, la voix de l'Éternel dans ce que je te dis, et tout ira bien pour toi, et ton âme vivra. | But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of Jehovah, in that which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well with thee, and thy soul shall live. | Ma Geremia rispose: Non ti consegneranno nelle loro mani. Deh, ascolta la voce dell'Eterno in ciò che ti dico; così ti andrà bene e vivrai. |
| 21 | Mais si tu refuses de sortir, voici la parole que l'Éternel m'a fait voir: | But if thou refuse to go forth, this is the word that Jehovah hath showed me: | Ma se rifiuti di uscire, questo è ciò che l'Eterno mi ha mostrato: |
| 22 | Voici, toutes les femmes qui sont de reste dans la maison du roi de Juda seront menées dehors vers les princes du roi de Babylone, et elles diront: Tes familiers t'ont entraîné, ils ont prévalu sur toi; tes pieds se sont enfoncés dans le bourbier, ils ont glissé en arrière. | behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah`s house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon`s princes, and those women shall say, Thy familiar friends have set thee on, and have prevailed over thee: [now that] thy feet are sunk in the mire, they are turned away back. | Ecco, tutte le donne che sono rimaste nella casa del re di Giuda saranno condotte ai principi del re di Babilonia e diranno: I tuoi intimi amici ti hanno sedotto e hanno prevalso contro di te, i tuoi piedi sono affondati nel fango ed essi ti hanno voltato le spalle |
| 23 | Et toutes tes femmes et tes fils, on les mènera dehors vers les Chaldéens, et toi tu n'échapperas pas à leur main; car tu seras pris par la main du roi de Babylone, et tu feras que cette ville sera brûlée par le feu. | And they shall bring out all thy wives and thy children to the Chaldeans; and thou shalt not escape out of their hand, but shalt be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and thou shalt cause this city to be burned with fire. | Tutte le tue mogli e i tuoi figli saranno condotti ai Caldei e tu non scamperai dalle loro mani, ma sarai preso e dato in mano del re di Babilonia e questa città sarà bruciata con il fuoco. |
| 24 | Et Sédécias dit à Jérémie: Que personne ne sache rien de ces paroles, et tu ne mourras pas; | Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die. | Sedekia disse a Geremia: Nessuno sappia queste parole, e tu non morirai. |
| 25 | et si les princes entendent que j'ai parlé avec toi, et qu'ils viennent vers toi et te disent: Déclare-nous donc ce que tu as dit au roi; ne nous le cache pas, et nous ne te ferons point mourir; | But if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king; hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; also what the king said unto thee: | Ma se i principi verranno a sapere che io ho parlato con te e verranno da te a dirti: riferiscici ciò che hai detto al re e anche ciò che il re ha detto a te, non nasconderci nulla e non ti faremo morire |
| 26 | et que t'a dit le roi? tu leur diras: J'ai présenté ma requête devant le roi, qu'on ne me fasse pas retourner dans la maison de Jonathan pour y mourir. | then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan`s house, to die there. | risponderai loro: "Ho presentato la mia supplica al re, perché non mi facesse ritornare nella casa di Gionathan a morirvi". |
| 27 | -Et tous les princes vinrent vers Jérémie, et l'interrogèrent; et il leur rapporta la chose selon toutes ces paroles que le roi avait commandées; et ils se turent et le laissèrent, car l'affaire ne s'ébruita pas. | Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him; and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived. | Ora tutti i principi vennero da Geremia e lo interrogarono, ma egli rispose loro secondo tutte quelle parole che il re gli aveva comandato; per cui lo lasciarono in pace, non seppero nulla della conversazione. |
| 28 | Et Jérémie habita dans la cour de la prison jusqu'au jour où Jérusalem fut prise. | So Jeremiah abode in the court of the guard until the day that Jerusalem was taken. | Così Geremia rimase nel cortile della prigione fino al giorno in cui Gerusalemme fu presa. Ed egli era lì quando Gerusalemme fu presa. |
