| 2 | C'est pourquoi ainsi parle Jéhovah, Dieu d'Israël, Touchant les pasteurs qui paissent mon peuple : Vous avez dispersé mes brebis, vous les avez chassées, Vous n'en avez pas pris soin; Voici que je vais prendre soin de vous Pour punir la méchanceté de vos actions, dit Jéhovah. | Therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, against the shepherds that feed my people: Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them; behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith Jehovah. |
| 3 | Et moi je rassemblerai le reste de mes brebis De tous les pays où je les aurai chassées, Et je les ramènerai dans leur pâturage; Elles croîtront et se multiplieront. | And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and multiply. |
| 4 | Et je susciterai sur elles des pasteurs qui les paîtront; Elles n'auront plus ni crainte ni terreur, Et il n'en manquera plus aucune, dit Jéhovah, | And I will set up shepherds over them, who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be lacking, saith Jehovah. |
| 5 | Les jours viennent, dit Jéhovah, Où je susciterai à David un germe juste; Il régnera en roi, Il sera sage et fera droit et justice dans le pays. | Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. |
| 6 | Dans ses jours, Juda sera sauvé, Israël habitera en assurance, Et voici le nom dont on l'appellera : Jéhovah notre justice. | In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness. |
| 7 | C'est pourquoi des jours viennent, dit Jéhovah, Où l'on ne dira plus : "Jéhovah est vivant; Lui qui a fait monter du pays d'Egypte les enfants d'Israël;" | Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that they shall no more say, As Jehovah liveth, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; |
| 8 | Mais "Jéhovah est vivant, Lui qui a fait monter et ramené la semence de la maison d'Israël Du pays du septentrion Et de tous les pays où je les avais chassés."Et ils habiteront sur leur sol. | but, As Jehovah liveth, who brought up and who led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries whither I had driven them. And they shall dwell in their own land. |

Mon coeur est brisé au-dedans de moi, Tous mes os tremblent; En présence de Jéhovah et de sa parole sainte, Je suis comme un homme ivre, Comme un homme pris de vin. | Concerning the prophets. My heart within me is broken, all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of Jehovah, and because of his holy words. |
| 10 | Car le pays est rempli d'adultères; Car à cause de la malédiction, le pays est en deuil; Les pâturages du désert sont desséchés; Ces hommes courent au mal; Ils n'ont de force que pour l'injustice. | For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. And their course is evil, and their might is not right; |
| 11 | Prophètes et prêtres sont des profanes, Et dans ma maison même j'ai trouvé leur méchanceté, dit Jéhovah. | for both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith Jehovah. |
| 12 | Aussi leur chemin sera pour eux Comme des lieux glissants et ténébreux; Ils seront poussés, ils tomberont; Car j'amènerai sur eux le malheur L'année où je les visiterai, dit Jéhovah. | Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery places in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith Jehovah. |
| 13 | Dans les prophètes de Samarie, j'avais vu de la sottise; Ils prophétisaient par Baal, Et ils égaraient mon peuple d'Israël; | And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err. |
| 14 | Mais dans les prophètes de Jérusalem, j'ai vu des choses horribles; Ils commettent l'adultère; Ils marchent dans le mensonge; Ils affermissent les mains des méchants Afin qu'aucun d'eux ne revienne de sa méchanceté; Ils sont tous pour moi comme Sodome, Et les habitants de Jérusalem comme Gomorrhe. | In the prophets of Jerusalem also I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies; and they strengthen the hands of evil-doers, so that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them become unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. |
| 15 | C'est pourquoi ainsi parle Jéhovah des armées touchant les prophètes : Je vais leur faire manger de l'absinthe Et leur faire boire des eaux empoisonnées; Car c'est des prophètes de Jérusalem Que la profanation est venue dans tout le pays. | Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall; for from the prophets of Jerusalem is ungodliness gone forth into all the land. |
| 16 | Ainsi parle Jéhovah des armées : N'écoutez pas les paroles des prophètes Qui vous prophétisent, qui vous dupent; Ils disent les visions de leur propre coeur, Et non ce qui sort de la bouche de Jéhovah. | Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they teach you vanity; they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Jehovah. |
| 17 | Ils disent à ceux qui me méprisent : "Jéhovah a dit : Vous aurez la paix;"Et à tous ceux qui suivent l'obstination de leur coeur, Ils disent : "Il ne vous arrivera aucun mal." | They say continually unto them that despise me, Jehovah hath said, Ye shall have peace; and unto every one that walketh in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, No evil shall come upon you. |
| 18 | Car qui a assisté au conseil de Jéhovah Pour voir et entendre sa parole ? Qui a été attentif à sa parole et l'a entendue ? | For who hath stood in the council of Jehovah, that he should perceive and hear his word? who hath marked my word, and heard it? |
| 19 | Voici que la tempête de Jéhovah, la fureur va éclater; L'orage tourbillonne, Il fond sur la tête des impies. | Behold, the tempest of Jehovah, [even his] wrath, is gone forth, yea, a whirling tempest: it shall burst upon the head of the wicked. |
| 20 | La colère de Jéhovah ne retournera pas en arrière Qu'elle n'ait agi et réalisé les desseins de son coeur; A la fin des temps vous en aurez la pleine intelligence. | The anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall understand it perfectly. |
| 21 | Je n'ai pas envoyé ces prophètes, et ils courent! Je ne leur ai point parlé, et ils prophétisent! | I sent not these prophets, yet they ran: I spake not unto them, yet they prophesied. |
| 22 | S'ils avaient assisté à mon conseil, Ils auraient fait entendre mes paroles à mon peuple; Ils les auraient ramenés de leur voie mauvaise, De la méchanceté de leurs actions. | But if they had stood in my council, then had they caused my people to hear my words, and had turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. |
| 23 | Ne suis-je un Dieu que de près, dit Jéhovah, Et ne suis-je pas aussi un Dieu de loin ? | Am I a God at hand, saith Jehovah, and not a God afar off? |
| 24 | Un homme peut-il se cacher dans une cachette Sans que je le voie, dit Jéhovah ? Est-ce que je ne remplis pas, moi, le ciel et la terre, dit Jéhovah ? | Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? saith Jehovah. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith Jehovah. |
| 25 | J'ai entendu ce que disent ces prophètes Qui disent en mon nom des mensonges, En disant : "J'ai eu un songe; j'ai eu un songe!" | I have heard what the prophets have said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. |
| 26 | Jusques à quand ?... Veulent-ils, ces prophètes, Ces prophètes de mensonge, Ces prophètes de l'imposture de leur coeur, | How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart? |
| 27 | Pensent-ils faire oublier mon nom à mon peuple, Pour les rêves qu'ils se racontent les uns aux autres, Comme leurs pères ont oublié mon nom pour Baal ? | that think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgat my name for Baal. |
| 28 | Que le prophète qui a eu un songe raconte ce songe; Que celui qui a ma parole rapporte fidèlement ma parole. Qu'a de commun la paille avec le froment, dit Jéhovah ? | The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat? saith Jehovah. |
| 29 | Ma parole n'est-elle pas comme un feu, dit Jéhovah, Comme un marteau qui brise le roc ? | Is not my word like fire? saith Jehovah; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? |
| 30 | Aussi je viens à ces prophètes Qui dérobent mes paroles les uns aux autres. | Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, that steal my words every one from his neighbor. |
| 31 | Je viens à ces prophètes, dit Jéhovah, Qui agitent leur langue et qui disent : "Parole de Jéhovah!" | Behold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. |
| 32 | Je viens à ces prophètes de songes menteurs, dit Jéhovah, Qui les racontent, qui égarent mon peuple Par leurs mensonges et par leur légèreté; Et je ne les ai point envoyés, Et je ne leur ai rien commandé; Ils ne servent de rien à ce peuple; dit Jéhovah. | Behold, I am against them that prophesy lying dreams, saith Jehovah, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting: yet I sent them not, nor commanded them; neither do they profit this people at all, saith Jehovah. |
| 33 | Quand ce peuple, ou des prophètes, ou un prêtre te demanderont : "Quel est aujourd'hui le fardeau de Jéhovah ?"Tu leur répondras : "C'est vous qui êtes ce fardeau, Et je vous rejetterai, "dit Jéhovah. | And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of Jehovah? then shalt thou say unto them, What burden! I will cast you off, saith Jehovah. |
| 34 | Et le prophète, le prêtre ou l'homme du peuple Qui dira : "Fardeau de Jéhovah, "Je le visiterai, lui et sa maison. | And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of Jehovah, I will even punish that man and his house. |
| 35 | Voici comment vous parlerez l'un à l'autre et chacun à son frère : "Qu'a répondu Jéhovah : "Et "qu'a dit Jéhovah ?" | Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbor, and every one to his brother, What hath Jehovah answered? and, What hath Jehovah spoken? |
| 36 | Mais vous ne répéterez plus : "Fardeau de Jéhovah;"Car le fardeau de chacun sera sa parole, Parce que vous avez tordu les paroles du Dieu vivant, De Jéhovah des armées, notre Dieu. | And the burden of Jehovah shall ye mention no more: for every man`s own word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of Jehovah of hosts our God. |
| 37 | Tu diras au prophète : "Que t'a répondu Jéhovah ? qu'a dit Jéhovah ?" | Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath Jehovah answered thee? and, What hath Jehovah spoken? |
| 38 | Mais si vous dites : "Fardeau de Jéhovah, "Alors Jéhovah parle ainsi : Parce que vous dites ce mot : "Fardeau de Jéhovah, "Après que j'ai envoyé vers vous pour vous dire : Ne dites plus : "Fardeau de Jéhovah, " | But if ye say, The burden of Jehovah; therefore thus saith Jehovah: Because ye say this word, The burden of Jehovah, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of Jehovah; |
| 39 | A cause de cela, je vous oublierai entièrement Et vous rejetterai de devant ma face, Vous et la ville que j'avais donnée à vous et à vos pères; | therefore, behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off, and the city that I gave unto you and to your fathers, away from my presence: |
| 40 | Et je ferai venir sur vous un opprobre éternel, Une honte éternelle, Qui ne s'oublieront jamais. | and I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten. |
