| 5 | That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O LORD. | Afin que j'accomplisse le serment que j'ai fait à vos pères De leur donner un pays où coulent le lait et le miel, Comme cela se voit aujourd'hui. Et je répondis : Amen, Jéhovah! | affinché io possa adempiere il giuramento che feci ai vostri padri, di dare loro un paese dove scorre latte e miele, come oggi avviene. | 6 | Then the LORD said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them. | Et Jéhovah me dit : Crie toutes ces paroles dans les villes de Juda Et dans les rues de Jérusalem, en disant : Ecoutez les paroles de cette alliance Et mettez-les en pratique. | Allora l'Eterno mi disse: Proclama tutte queste parole nelle città di Giuda e per le vie di Gerusalemme, dicendo: Ascoltate le parole di questo patto e mettetele in pratica. |
| 7 | For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice. | Car j'ai fortement averti vos pères Depuis le jour où je les ai fait monter du pays d'Egypte jusqu'à ce jour, Je les ai sans cesse avertis, en disant : Ecoutez ma voix. | Poiché io ho insistentemente esortato i vostri padri dal giorno che li ho fatti uscire dal paese d'Egitto fino a questo giorno, li ho esortati con urgenza, dicendo: Ascoltate la mia voce! |
| 8 | Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do: but they did them not. | Et ils n'ont ni écouté ni prêté l'oreille; Chacun d'eux a marché selon l'opiniâtreté de son mauvais coeur, Et j'ai exécuté sur eux toutes les paroles de cette alliance, Que je leur ai commandé d'observer Et qu'ils n'ont pas observée. | Essi però non l'hanno ascoltata né prestarono orecchio, ma camminarono ciascuno secondo la caparbietà del loro cuore malvagio; perciò io farò venire su di loro tutte le cose dette in questo patto che avevo comandato loro di osservare, ma che non osservarono. |
| 9 | And the LORD said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem. | Jéhovah me dit : Il s'est fait une conjuration chez les hommes de Juda Et chez les habitants de Jérusalem. | Poi l'Eterno mi disse: E' stata scoperta una congiura fra gli uomini di Giuda e fra gli abitanti di Gerusalemme. |
| 10 | They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers. | Ils sont retournés aux iniquités de leurs pères Qui ont refusé d'écouter mes paroles, Et ils sont allés après d'autres dieux pour les servir; La maison d'Israël et la maison de Juda ont violé mon alliance Que j'avais conclue avec leurs pères. | Sono ritornati alle iniquità dei loro padri antichi, i quali rifiutarono di ascoltare le mie parole, e sono anch'essi andati dietro ad altri dèi, per servirli; la casa d'Israele e la casa di Giuda hanno rotto il patto che io avevo fatto con i loro padri. |
| 11 | Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them. | C'est pourquoi ainsi parle Jéhovah : Je vais amener sur eux des malheurs Dont ils ne pourront sortir; S'ils crient vers moi, je ne les écouterai pas. | Perciò così dice l'Eterno: Ecco, io farò venire su di loro una calamità, alla quale non potranno sfuggire. Essi grideranno a me, ma io non li ascolterò. |
| 12 | Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble. | Les villes de Juda et les habitants de Jérusalem Iront invoquer les dieux auxquels ils offrent de l'encens, Mais ces dieux ne les sauveront pas Au temps de leur malheur. | Allora le città di Giuda e gli abitanti di Gerusalemme andranno a gridare agli dèi ai quali hanno bruciato incenso, ma essi non li salveranno nel tempo della loro calamità. |
| 13 | For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal. | Car autant tu as de villes, Autant tu as de dieux, Juda, Et autant il y a de rues à Jérusalem, Autant vous avez dressé d'autels à une infâme idole, D'autels pour offrir de l'encens à Baal. | Poiché, o Giuda, i tuoi dèi sono numerosi come le tue città, e gli altari che avete eretto a quella cosa vergognosa, altari per bruciare incenso a Baal, sono numerosi come le vie di Gerusalemme. |
| 14 | Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble. | Et toi, n'intercède pas pour ce peuple, Et n'élève point en sa faveur de supplication ni de prière; Car je ne les écouterai point. Lorsqu'ils m'invoqueront au temps de leur malheur. | Perciò non pregare per questo popolo e non innalzare per loro alcun grido o preghiera, perché io non li esaudirò quando grideranno a me per la loro sventura. |
| 15 | What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest. | Qu'est-ce que ma bien-aimée a à faire dans ma maison ? Des fourberies ? Est-ce que les voeux et la chair sacrée Enlèveront de dessus toi tes malheurs, Que tu puisses te livrer à l'allégresse ? | Che cosa fa il mio diletto nel mio tempio, quando ha compiuto molte scelleratezze? Potranno le carni consacrate allontanare da te la tua malvagità, perché tu possa rallegrarti? |
| 16 | The LORD called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken. | Olivier verdoyant, orné de beaux fruits : C'est le nom que t'avait donné Jéhovah. Au bruit d'un grand fracas, il y met le feu, Et ses rameaux sont brisés. | L'Eterno ti aveva chiamato con il nome di Ulivo verdeggiante bello, con frutti squisiti. Al rumore di un gran tumulto, egli vi appiccherà il fuoco, e i suoi rami saranno distrutti. |
| 17 | For the LORD of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal. | Jéhovah des armées, qui t'avait planté, - A décrété le malheur contre toi, A cause du mal qu'ont fait la maison d'Israël et la maison de Juda, Pour provoquer ma colère, en offrant de l'encens à Baal. | L'Eterno degli eserciti che ti aveva piantato ha decretato sventura contro di te, a motivo della malvagità commessa a loro stesso danno dalla casa d'Israele e dalla casa di Giuda nel provocarmi ad ira, bruciando incenso a Baal. |

| 19 | But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered. | Moi, j'étais comme un agneau familier Qu'on mène à la boucherie, Et je ne savais qu'ils formaient des desseins contre moi."Détruisons l'arbre avec son fruit! | 20 | But, O LORD of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause. | Mais Jéhovah des armées juge avec justice; Il sonde les reins et les coeurs; Je verrai la vengeance que vous tirerez d'eux, Car c'est à vous que j'ai confié ma cause. | Ma, o Eterno degli eserciti, giusto giudice, che scruti la mente e il cuore, fammi vedere la tua vendetta su di loro, perché ti ho reso noto la mia causa. |
| 21 | Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand: | C'est pourquoi ainsi parle Jéhovah Au sujet des hommes d'Anathoth Qui en veulent à ta vie et qui disent : "Ne prophétise pas au nom de Jéhovah, Si tu ne veux mourir de notre main!" | Perciò così dice l'Eterno riguardo agli uomini di Anathoth che cercano la tua vita, dicendo: Non profetizzare nel nome dell'Eterno, perché non abbia a morire per mano nostra. |
| 22 | Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine: | C'est pourquoi ainsi parle Jéhovah des armées : Je vais les punir; Les jeunes hommes mourront par l'épée; Leurs fils et leurs filles mourront de faim; | Così dunque dice l'Eterno degli eserciti: Ecco, io li punirò: i giovani moriranno di spada, i loro figli e le loro figlie moriranno di fame. |
| 23 | And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation. | Rien ne restera d'eux; Car j'amènerai le malheur sur les hommes d'Anathoth, L'année où je les visiterai. | Non resterà di loro alcun residuo, perché io farò venire la calamità sugli uomini di Anathoth, nell'anno della loro punizione. |
