Ne les craignez pas, car ils ne peuvent pas faire du mal, et aussi il n'est pas en leur pouvoir de faire du bien. | They are like a palm-tree, of turned work, and speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither is it in them to do good. | Stanno diritti come una palma e non possono parlare; bisogna portarli, perché non possono camminare. Car cela t'est dû; car, parmi tous les sages des nations et dans tous leurs royaumes, nul n'est comme toi; | Who should not fear thee, O King of the nations? for to thee doth it appertain; forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their royal estate, there is none like unto thee. | Chi non ti temerebbe, o re delle nazioni? | 9 | L'argent en plaques est apporté de Tarsis, et l'or d'Uphaz, ouvrage de l'artisan et des mains du fondeur; le bleu et la pourpre sont leur vêtement: ils sont tous l'ouvrage de gens de l'art. | There is silver beaten into plates, which is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the artificer and of the hands of the goldsmith; blue and purple for their clothing; they are all the work of skilful men. | Argento battuto in lamine portato da Tarshish, e oro da Ufaz, lavoro di artigiano e di mano di orefice; il loro vestito è di porpora e di scarlatto, sono tutti lavoro di uomini esperti. |

| 13 | Quand il fait retentir sa voix, il y a un tumulte d'eaux dans les cieux, et il fait monter les vapeurs du bout de la terre; il fait les éclairs pour la pluie, et de ses trésors il tire le vent. | when he uttereth his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries. | Quando emette la sua voce c'è un fragore di acque nel cielo; egli fa salire i vapori dalle estremità della terra, produce i lampi per la pioggia e fa uscire il vento dai suoi serbatoi. |
| 14 | Tout homme est devenu stupide, en sorte qu'il n'a pas de connaissance; tout fondeur a honte de l'image taillée, car son image de fonte est un mensonge; il n'y a point de respiration en elles. | Every man is become brutish [and is] without knowledge; every goldsmith is put to shame by his graven image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. | Ogni uomo allora diventa insensato, privo di conoscenza, ogni orafo si vergogna della sua immagine scolpita, perché la sua immagine fusa è falsità e in essa non c'è spirito. |
| 15 | Elles sont vanité, un ouvrage de déception: elles périront au temps de leur visitation. | They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish. | Sono vanità, lavoro d'inganno, nel tempo della loro punizione periranno. |
| 16 | La portion de Jacob n'est pas comme elles, car c'est Celui qui a tout formé, et Israël est la verge de son héritage: son nom est l'Éternel des armées. | The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance: Jehovah of hosts is his name. | La porzione di Giacobbe non è come loro, perché Egli ha formato tutte le cose, e Israele, è la tribù della sua eredità. Il suo nome è l'Eterno degli eserciti. |
| 17 | et porte hors du pays ce qui t'appartient, toi qui habites la forteresse. | Gather up thy wares out of the land, O thou that abidest in the siege. | Raduna dal paese le tue mercanzie tu che sei cinta d'assedio. |
| 18 | Car ainsi dit l'Éternel: Voici, à cette fois je vais lancer, comme avec une fronde, les habitants du pays; et je ferai venir sur eux la détresse, afin qu'on les trouve. | For thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and will distress them, that they may feel [it]. | Poiché così dice l'Eterno: Ecco, questa volta io lancerò lontano gli abitanti del paese e farò venire su di loro una grande sventura, perché possano ritrovare me. |
| 19 | Malheur à moi, à cause de ma ruine! ma plaie est douloureuse. Et moi j'ai dit: C'est ici mon mal, et je le supporterai. | Woe is me because of my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is [my] grief, and I must bear it. | Guai a me a motivo della mia ferita; la mia piaga è dolorosa. Ma io ho detto: Questa è un'infermità che devo sopportare. |
| 20 | Ma tente est dévastée et toutes mes cordes sont rompues; mes fils sont sortis d'auprès de moi, et ils ne sont plus; personne ne tend plus ma tente et n'arrange mes courtines. | My tent is destroyed, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth from me, and they are not: there is none to spread my tent any more, and to set up my curtains. | La mia tenda è devastata e tutte le mie corde sono rotte, i miei figli sono andati lontano da me e non sono più non c'è più nessuno che pianti la mia tenda o che rialzi i miei padiglioni. |
| 21 | Car les pasteurs sont stupides, et n'ont pas cherché l'Éternel. C'est pourquoi ils n'ont pas agi sagement, et tout leur troupeau est dispersé. | For the shepherds are become brutish, and have not inquired of Jehovah: therefore they have not prospered, and all their flocks are scattered. | Poiché i pastori sono stati insensati e non hanno cercato l'Eterno; perciò non hanno prosperato e tutto il loro gregge è stato disperso. |

Voici, elle vient, et une grande commotion du pays du nord, pour réduire les villes de Juda en désolation, en repaire de chacals. | The voice of tidings, behold, it cometh, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah a desolation, a dwelling-place of jackals. | Ecco, giunge un rumore di notizie e un gran trambusto dal paese del nord, per ridurre le città di Giuda una desolazione, un rifugio di sciacalli. |
| 23 | Je sais, Éternel, que la voie de l'homme n'est pas à lui, qu'il n'est pas au pouvoir de l'homme qui marche de diriger ses pas. | O Jehovah, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. | O Eterno, io so che la via dell'uomo non è in suo potere e non è in potere dell'uomo che cammina il dirigere i suoi passi |
| 24 | Éternel! corrige-moi, mais avec mesure, non dans ta colère, de peur que tu ne me rendes chétif. | O Jehovah, correct me, but in measure: not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing. | Correggimi, o Eterno, ma con giustizia, non nella tua ira per non ridurmi al nulla. |
| 25 | Verse ta fureur sur les nations qui ne t'ont pas connu et sur les familles qui n'invoquent pas ton nom; car elles ont dévoré Jacob: ils l'ont dévoré, et ils l'ont consumé, et ils ont désolé son habitation. | Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have devoured Jacob, yea, they have devoured him and consumed him, and have laid waste his habitation. | Riversa la tua ira sulle nazioni che non ti conoscono e sui popoli che non invocano il tuo nome, perché hanno divorato Giacobbe, sì, l'hanno divorato e consumato e hanno distrutto la sua dimora. |
