| 10 | Mais lorsque ses frères furent montés, alors lui aussi monta à la fête, non pas publiquement, mais comme en secret. | But when his brethren were gone up unto the feast, then went he also up, not publicly, but as it were in secret. | Dopo che i suoi fratelli furono saliti alla festa, allora anche lui vi salì, non pubblicamente, ma come di nascosto. |
| 11 | Les Juifs donc le cherchaient à la fête et disaient: | The Jews therefore sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he? | I Giudei dunque lo cercavano durante la festa e dicevano: Dov'è quel tale?. |
| 12 | Où est cet homme? Et il y avait une grande rumeur à son sujet parmi les foules. Les uns disaient: Il est homme de bien. D'autres disaient: Non, mais il séduit la foule. | And there was much murmuring among the multitudes concerning him: some said, He is a good man; others said, Not so, but he leadeth the multitude astray. | Fra le folle si faceva un gran parlottare intorno a lui; gli uni dicevano: Egli è un uomo dabbene!. Altri dicevano: No, anzi egli inganna la folla. |
| 13 | Toutefois personne ne parlait ouvertement de lui, par crainte des Juifs. | Yet no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews. | Nessuno però parlava di lui apertamente, per timore dei Giudei. |
| 14 | Mais, comme on était déjà au milieu de la fête, Jésus monta au temple, et il enseignait. | But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. | Ma, verso la metà della festa, Gesù salì al tempio e incominciò a insegnare. |
| 15 | Les Juifs donc s'étonnaient, disant: Comment celui-ci connaît-il les lettres, vu qu'il ne les a point apprises? | The Jews therefore marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? | E i Giudei si meravigliavano e dicevano: Come mai costui sa di lettere, senza aver fatto studi?. |
| 16 | Jésus donc leur répondit et dit: Ma doctrine n'est pas mienne, mais de celui qui m'a envoyé. | Jesus therefore answered them and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me. | Gesù allora rispose loro e disse: La mia dottrina non è mia, ma di colui che mi ha mandato. |
| 17 | Si quelqu'un veut faire sa volonté, il connaîtra de la doctrine si elle est de Dieu, ou si moi je parle de par moi-même. | If any man willeth to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or [whether] I speak from myself. | Se qualcuno vuol fare la sua volontà, conoscerà se questa dottrina viene da Dio, oppure se io parlo da me stesso. |
| 18 | Celui qui parle de par lui-même cherche sa propre gloire; mais celui qui cherche la gloire de celui qui l'a envoyé, celui-là est vrai, et il n'y a point d'injustice en lui. | He that speaketh from himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. | Chi parla da se stesso cerca la sua propria gloria, ma chi cerca la gloria di colui che l'ha mandato è verace, e in lui non vi è ingiustizia. |
| 19 | Moïse ne vous a-t-il pas donné la loi? Et nul d'entre vous n'observe la loi. Pourquoi cherchez-vous à me faire mourir? | Did not Moses give you the law, and [yet] none of you doeth the law? Why seek ye to kill me? | Non vi ha Mosè dato la legge? Eppure nessuno di voi mette in pratica la legge. Perché cercate di uccidermi?. |
| 20 | La foule répondit et dit: Tu as un démon; qui cherche à te faire mourir? | The multitude answered, Thou hast a demon: who seeketh to kill thee? | La folla rispose e disse: Tu hai un demone; chi cerca di ucciderti?. |
| 21 | répondit et leur dit: J'ai fait une oeuvre, et vous vous étonnez tous. | Jesus answered and said unto them, I did one work, and ye all marvel because thereof. | Gesù replicò e disse loro: Io ho fatto un'opera e ne siete tutti meravigliati. |
| 22 | C'est pourquoi Moïse vous a donné la circoncision (non qu'elle soit de Moïse, mais elle est des pères), et vous circoncisez un homme en un jour de sabbat. | Moses hath given you circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers); and on the sabbath ye circumcise a man. | Ora Mosè vi ha dato la circoncisione, (non già che essa provenga da Mosè, ma dai padri); e voi circoncidete un uomo di sabato. |
| 23 | Si un homme reçoit la circoncision en un jour de sabbat, afin que la loi de Moïse ne soit pas violée, êtes-vous irrités contre moi de ce que j'ai guéri un homme tout entier en un jour de sabbat? | If a man receiveth circumcision on the sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken; are ye wroth with me, because I made a man every whit whole on the sabbath? | Se un uomo riceve la circoncisione di sabato, affinché la legge di Mosè non sia violata, vi adirate voi contro di me perché ho guarito interamente un uomo di sabato? |
| 24 | Ne jugez pas sur l'apparence, mais portez un jugement juste. | Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment. | Non giudicate secondo l'apparenza ma giudicate secondo giustizia. |
| 25 | Quelques-uns donc de ceux de Jérusalem disaient: N'est-ce pas celui qu'ils cherchent à faire mourir? | Some therefore of them of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill? | Allora alcuni di Gerusalemme dicevano: Non è questi colui che cercano di uccidere? |
| 26 | Et voici, il parle librement, et ils ne lui disent rien: les chefs auraient-ils vraiment reconnu que celui-ci est le Christ? | And lo, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing unto him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is the Christ? | Eppure, ecco, egli parla liberamente e non gli dicono nulla; hanno i capi riconosciuto davvero che egli è il Cristo? |
| 27 | Mais nous connaissons celui-ci, et nous savons d'où il est; mais lorsque le Christ viendra, personne ne sait d'où il est. | Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when the Christ cometh, no one knoweth whence he is. | Ma noi sappiamo di dove sia costui; invece quando il Cristo verrà, nessuno saprà di dove egli sia. |
| 28 | Jésus donc criait dans le temple, enseignant et disant: Et vous me connaissez, et vous savez d'où je suis: et je ne suis pas venu de par moi-même, mais celui qui m'a envoyé est véritable, et vous ne le connaissez pas. | Jesus therefore cried in the temple, teaching and saying, Ye both know me, and know whence I am; and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. | Allora Gesù, insegnando nel tempio, esclamò e disse: Voi mi conoscete e sapete da dove sono; tuttavia io non sono venuto da me stesso, ma colui che mi ha mandato è verace e voi non lo conoscete. |
| 29 | Moi, je le connais, car je viens de lui, et c'est lui qui m'a envoyé. | I know him; because I am from him, and he sent me. | Io però lo conosco, perché vengo da lui ed è stato lui a mandarmi. |
| 30 | Ils cherchaient donc à le prendre; et personne ne mit la main sur lui, parce que son heure n'était pas encore venue. | They sought therefore to take him: and no man laid his hand on him, because his hour was not yet come. | Perciò cercavano di prenderlo, ma nessuno gli mise le mani addosso, perché la sua ora non era ancora venuta. |
| 31 | Et plusieurs d'entre la foule crurent en lui, et disaient: Le Christ, quand il sera venu, fera-t-il plus de miracles que celui-ci n'en a fait? | But of the multitude many believed on him; and they said, When the Christ shall come, will he do more signs than those which this man hath done? | Ma molti della folla credettero in lui e dicevano: Il Cristo, quando verrà, farà più segni di quanti ne abbia fatti costui?. |
| 32 | Les pharisiens entendirent la foule murmurant ces choses de lui; et les pharisiens et les principaux sacrificateurs envoyèrent des huissiers pour le prendre. | The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to take him. | I farisei udirono che la folla sussurrava queste cose a suo riguardo; perciò i farisei e i capi dei sacerdoti mandarono delle guardie per prenderlo. |
| 33 | Jésus donc dit: Je suis encore pour un peu de temps avec vous, et je m'en vais à celui qui m'a envoyé. | Jesus therefore said, Yet a little while am I with you, and I go unto him that sent me. | Allora Gesù disse loro: Io sono con voi ancora per poco tempo; poi me ne andrò da colui che mi ha mandato. |
| 34 | Vous me chercherez, et vous ne me trouverez pas; et là ou moi je serai, vous, vous ne pouvez venir. | Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, ye cannot come. | Voi mi cercherete e non mi troverete; e dove sarò io, voi non potete venire. |
| 35 | Les Juifs donc dirent entre eux: Où celui-ci va-t-il aller que nous ne le trouverons pas? Va-t-il aller à la dispersion au milieu des Grecs, et enseigner les Grecs? | The Jews therefore said among themselves, Whither will this man go that we shall not find him? will he go unto the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? | Dicevano perciò i Giudei tra loro: Dove sta egli per andare che noi non lo troveremo? Andrà forse da quelli che sono dispersi fra i Greci, e ad insegnare ai Greci? |
| 36 | Quelle est cette parole qu'il a dite: Vous me chercherez, et vous ne me trouverez pas; et là où moi je serai, vous, vous ne pouvez venir? | What is this word that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come? | Cosa voleva dire quando disse: "Voi mi cercherete e non mi troverete"; e: "Dove sarò io, voi non potete venire"?. |
| 37 | Et en la dernière journée, la grande journée de la fête, Jésus se tint là et cria, disant: Si quelqu'un a soif, qu'il vienne à moi, et qu'il boive. | Now on the last day, the great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. | Or nell'ultimo giorno, il grande giorno della festa, Gesù si alzò in piedi ed esclamò dicendo: Se qualcuno ha sete, venga a me e beva. |
| 38 | Celui qui croit en moi, selon ce qu'a dit l'écriture, des fleuves d'eau vive couleront de son ventre. | He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water. | Chi crede in me, come ha detto la Scrittura, da dentro di lui sgorgheranno fiumi d'acqua viva. |
| 39 | (Or il disait cela de l'Esprit qu'allaient recevoir ceux qui croyaient en lui; car l'Esprit n'était pas encore, parce que Jésus n'avait pas encore été glorifié). | But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet [given]; because Jesus was not yet glorified. | Or egli disse questo dello Spirito, che avrebbero ricevuto coloro che avrebbero creduto in lui; lo Spirito Santo infatti non era ancora stato dato, perché Gesù non era stato ancora glorificato. |
| 40 | Des gens de la foule donc, ayant entendu cette parole, disaient: Celui-ci est véritablement le prophète. | [Some] of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, This is of a truth the prophet. | Molti dunque della folla, udite queste parole, dicevano: Costui è veramente il profeta. |
| 41 | D'autres disaient: Celui-ci est le Christ. D'autres disaient: Le Christ vient-il donc de Galilée? | Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, What, doth the Christ come out of Galilee? | Altri dicevano: Costui è il Cristo. Alcuni invece dicevano: Viene forse il Cristo dalla Galilea? |
| 42 | L'écriture n'a-t-elle pas dit que le Christ vient de la semence de David et de la bourgade de Bethléhem, où était David? | Hath not the scripture said that the Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was? | Non dice la Scrittura che il Cristo viene dalla progenie di Davide e da Betlemme, villaggio dove viveva Davide?. |
| 43 | Il y eut donc de la division dans la foule à cause de lui. | So there arose a division in the multitude because of him. | Ci fu dunque dissenso fra la folla a motivo di lui. |
| 44 | Et quelques-uns d'entre eux voulaient le prendre; mais personne ne mit les mains sur lui. | And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him. | E alcuni di loro lo volevano prendere, ma nessuno gli mise le mani addosso. |
| 45 | Les huissiers donc s'en vinrent vers les principaux sacrificateurs et les pharisiens; et ceux-ci leur dirent: Pourquoi ne l'avez-vous pas amené? | The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why did ye not bring him? | Le guardie tornarono quindi dai capi dei sacerdoti e dai farisei, e questi dissero loro: Perché non l'avete portato?. |
| 46 | Les huissiers répondirent: Jamais homme ne parla comme cet homme. | The officers answered, Never man so spake. | Le guardie risposero: Nessun uomo ha mai parlato come costui. |
| 47 | Les pharisiens donc leur répondirent: Et vous aussi, êtes-vous séduits? | The Pharisees therefore answered them, Are ye also led astray? | Perciò i farisei risposero loro: Siete stati sedotti anche voi? |
| 48 | Aucun d'entre les chefs ou d'entre les pharisiens, a-t-il cru en lui? | Hath any of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees? | Ha qualcuno dei capi o dei farisei creduto in lui? |
| 49 | Mais cette foule qui ne connaît pas la loi est maudite. | But this multitude that knoweth not the law are accursed. | Ma questa plebaglia, che non conosce la legge, è maledetta. |
| 50 | Nicodème, qui était l'un d'entre eux, leur dit: | Nicodemus saith unto them (he that came to him before, being one of them), | Nicodemo, uno di loro, colui che era andato da Gesù di notte, disse loro: |
| 51 | Notre loi juge-t-elle l'homme avant de l'avoir entendu et d'avoir connu ce qu'il fait? | Doth our law judge a man, except it first hear from himself and know what he doeth? | La nostra legge condanna forse un uomo prima di averlo ascoltato e di sapere ciò che egli ha fatto?. |
| 52 | Ils répondirent et lui dirent: Et toi, es-tu aussi de Galilée? Enquiers-toi, et vois qu'un prophète n'est pas suscité de Galilée. | They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and see that out of Galilee ariseth no prophet. | Essi risposero e gli dissero: Sei forse anche tu Galileo? Ricerca le Scritture e vedrai che dalla Galilea non sorse mai alcun profeta. |
| 53 | Et chacun s'en alla dans sa maison. | And they went every man unto his own house: | E ciascuno se ne tornò a casa sua. |
