After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias. After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is [the sea] of Tiberias.
And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased. And a great multitude followed him, because they beheld the signs which he did on them that were sick.E una grande folla lo seguiva, perché vedevano i segni che egli faceva sugli infermi.
And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples. And Jesus went up into the mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh. Now the passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand.
When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?Jesus therefore lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude cometh unto him, saith unto Philip, Whence are we to buy bread, that these may eat?
And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.Or diceva questo per metterlo alla prova, perché egli sapeva quello che stava per fare.
Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.Philip answered him, Two hundred shillings` worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one may take a little.
One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter`s brother, saith unto him,Andrea, fratello di Simon Pietro, uno dei suoi discepoli, gli disse:
There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? There is a lad here, who hath five barley loaves, and two fishes: but what are these among so many?v'è qui un ragazzo che ha cinque pani d'orzo e due piccoli pesci; ma che cos'è questo per tanta gente?.
And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.Jesus said, Make the people sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.E Gesù disse: Fate sedere la gente!. Or c'era molta erba in quel luogo.
And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.Jesus therefore took the loaves; and having given thanks, he distributed to them that were set down; likewise also of the fishes as much as they would.
When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. And when they were filled, he saith unto his disciples, Gather up the broken pieces which remain over, that nothing be lost.E, dopo che furono saziati, Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: Raccogliete i pezzi avanzati perché niente si perda.
Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with broken pieces from the five barley loaves, which remained over unto them that had eaten.
Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world. When therefore the people saw the sign which he did, they said, This is of a truth the prophet that cometh into the world.
When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.Jesus therefore perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew again into the mountain himself alone.
And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,And when evening came, his disciples went down unto the sea;Quando fu sera, i suoi discepoli discesero al mare.
And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.and they entered into a boat, and were going over the sea unto Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.E, montati in barca, si diressero all'altra riva del mare, verso Capernaum; era ormai buio e Gesù non era ancora venuto da loro.
And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. And the sea was rising by reason of a great wind that blew.
So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. When therefore they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they behold Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the boat: and they were afraid.
But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid. But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went. They were willing therefore to receive him into the boat: and straightway the boat was at the land whither they were going.
The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;On the morrow the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, save one, and that Jesus entered not with his disciples into the boat, but [that] his disciples went away aloneIl giorno seguente la folla, che era rimasta sull'altra riva del mare, si rese conto che là non c'era che una piccola barca, quella in cui erano saliti i discepoli di Gesù, e che egli non vi era salito con loro, ma che i suoi discepoli erano partiti soli;
(Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)(howbeit there came boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks):or altre barche erano venute da Tiberiade, vicino al luogo dove avevano mangiato il pane dopo che il Signore aveva reso grazie.
When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.when the multitude therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they themselves got into the boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? And when they found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?
Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw signs, but because ye ate of the loaves, and were filled.
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.Work not for the food which perisheth, but for the food which abideth unto eternal life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him the Father, even God, hath sealed.
Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?They said therefore unto him, What must we do, that we may work the works of God?Gli chiesero allora: Che cosa dobbiamo fare per compiere le opere di Dio?.
Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? They said therefore unto him, What then doest thou for a sign, that we may see, and believe thee? what workest thou?
Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.I nostri padri mangiarono la manna nel deserto, come è scritto: "Egli diede loro da mangiare del pane venuto dal cielo".
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, It was not Moses that gave you the bread out of heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread out of heaven.
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. For the bread of God is that which cometh down out of heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. They said therefore unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.Jesus said unto them. I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.E Gesù disse loro: Io sono il pane della vita chi viene a me non avrà mai più fame e chi crede in me non avrà mai più sete
But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.But I said unto you, that ye have seen me, and yet believe not.
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.All that which the Father giveth me shall come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.Tutto quello che il Padre mi dà verrà a me; e colui che viene a me, io non lo caccerò fuori,
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.For I am come down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.perché io sono disceso dal cielo, non per fare la mia volontà, ma la volontà di colui che mi ha mandato.
And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.And this is the will of him that sent me, that of all that which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.e' questa la volontà del Padre che mi ha mandato: che io non perda niente di tutto quello che egli mi ha dato, ma che lo risusciti nell'ultimo giorno.
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.For this is the will of my Father, that every one that beholdeth the Son, and believeth on him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. The Jews therefore murmured concerning him, because he said, I am the bread which came down out of heaven.I Giudei dunque mormoravano di lui, perché aveva detto: Io sono il pane che è disceso dal cielo,
And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how doth he now say, I am come down out of heaven?e dicevano: Non è costui Gesù, il figlio di Giuseppe, di cui conosciamo il padre e la madre?
Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.Jesus answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.No man can come to me, except the Father that sent me draw him: and I will raise him up in the last day.
It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught of God. Every one that hath heard from the Father, and hath learned, cometh unto me.Sta scritto nei profeti: "E tutti saranno ammaestrati da Dio".
Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he that is from God, he hath seen the Father.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth hath eternal life.In verità, in verità vi dico: Chi crede in me ha vita eterna.
I am that bread of life.I am the bread of life.Io sono il pane della vita.
Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.I vostri padri mangiarono la manna nel deserto e morirono.
This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. This is the bread which cometh down out of heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.I am the living bread which came down out of heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: yea and the bread which I will give is my flesh, for the life of the world.
The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?The Jews therefore strove one with another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have not life in yourselves.
Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood abideth in me, and I in him.
As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he that eateth me, he also shall live because of me.Come il Padre vivente mi ha mandato ed io vivo a motivo del Padre, così chi si ciba di me vivrà anch'egli a motivo di me.
This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. This is the bread which came down out of heaven: not as the fathers ate, and died; he that eateth this bread shall live for ever.
These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.Queste cose disse nella sinagoga, insegnando a Capernaum.
Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?Many therefore of his disciples, when the heard [this], said, This is a hard saying; who can hear it?Udito questo, molti dei suoi discepoli dissero: Questo parlare è duro, chi lo può capire?.
When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said unto them, Doth this cause you to stumble?
What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?[What] then if ye should behold the Son of man ascending where he was before?
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.It is the spirit that giveth life; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I have spoken unto you are spirit, are are life.E lo Spirito che vivifica, la carne non giova a nulla; le parole che vi dico sono spirito e vita.
But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who it was that should betray him.Ma vi sono alcuni tra voi che non credono, Gesù infatti sapeva fin dal principio chi erano coloro che non credevano, e chi era colui che lo avrebbe tradito;
And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. And he said, For this cause have I said unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it be given unto him of the Father.e diceva: Per questo vi ho detto che nessuno può venire a me se non gli è dato dal Padre mio.
From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.Upon this many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?Jesus said therefore unto the twelve, Would ye also go away?
Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.E Simon Pietro gli rispose: Signore, da chi ce ne andremo? Tu hai parole di vita eterna.
And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.And we have believed and know that thou art the Holy One of God.E noi abbiamo creduto e abbiamo conosciuto che tu sei il Cristo, il Figlio del Dio vivente.
Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?Jesus answered them, Did not I choose you the twelve, and one of you is a devil?Gesù rispose loro: Non ho io scelto voi dodici? Eppure uno di voi è un diavolo.
He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve. Now he spake of Judas [the son] of Simon Iscariot, for he it was that should betray him, [being] one of the twelve.
