| 20 | Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing. | Jésus lui répondit: j'ai ouvertement parlé au monde; j'ai toujours enseigné dans la Synagogue et dans le Temple, où les Juifs s'assemblent toujours, et je n'ai rien dit en secret. | Gesù gli rispose: Io ho parlato al mondo apertamente; ho sempre insegnato nella sinagoga e nel tempio dove tutti i Giudei si radunano, e non ho detto niente in segreto. |
| 21 | Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said. | Pourquoi m'interroges-tu? interroge ceux qui ont ouï ce que je leur ai dit; voilà, ils savent ce que j'ai dit; | Perché interroghi me? | 23 | Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me? | Jésus lui répondit: si j'ai mal parlé, rends témoignage du mal; et si j'ai bien parlé, pourquoi me frappes-tu? | Gesù gli rispose: Se ho parlato male, mostra dov'è il male; ma se ho parlato bene, perché mi percuoti?. |

| 25 | And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? | 28 | Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover. | Puis ils menèrent Jésus de chez Caïphe au Prétoire (or c'était le matin) mais ils n'entrèrent point au Prétoire, de peur qu'ils ne fussent souillés, et afin de pouvoir manger l'agneau de pâque. | Poi da Caiafa condussero Gesù nel pretorio; era mattino presto. | 29 | Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man? | C'est pourquoi Pilate sortit vers eux, et leur dit: quelle accusation portez-vous contre cet homme? | Pilato dunque uscì verso di loro e disse: Quale accusa portate contro quest'uomo?. |
| 30 | They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee. | Ils répondirent, et lui dirent: si ce n'était pas un criminel, nous ne te l'eussions pas livré. | Essi risposero e gli dissero: Se costui non fosse un malfattore, non te l'avremmo dato nelle mani. |
| 31 | Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death: | Alors Pilate leur dit: prenez-le vous-mêmes, et jugez-le selon votre Loi. Mais les Juifs lui dirent: il ne nous est pas permis de faire mourir personne. | Allora Pilato disse loro: Prendetelo voi e giudicatelo secondo la vostra legge. | 33 | Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews? | Pilate donc entra encore au Prétoire, et ayant appelé Jésus, il lui dit: es-tu le Roi des Juifs? | Pilato dunque rientrò nel pretorio chiamò Gesù e gli disse: Sei tu il re dei Giudei?. |
| 34 | Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me? | Jésus lui répondit: dis-tu ceci de toi-même, ou sont-ce les autres qui te l'ont dit de moi? | Gesù gli rispose: Dici questo da te stesso, oppure altri te lo hanno detto di me?. |
| 35 | Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? | Pilate répondit: suis-je Juif? ta nation et les principaux Sacrificateurs t'ont livré à moi; qu'as-tu fait? | Pilato gli rispose: Sono io forse Giudeo? La tua nazione e i capi dei sacerdoti ti hanno consegnato nelle mie mani; che hai fatto?. |
| 36 | Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. | Jésus répondit: mon Règne n'est pas de ce monde; si mon Règne était de ce monde, mes gens combattraient afin que je ne fusse point livré aux Juifs; mais maintenant mon Règne n'est point d'ici-bas. | Gesù rispose: Il mio regno non è di questo mondo; se il mio regno fosse di questo mondo, i miei servi combatterebbero affinché io non fossi dato in mano dei Giudei; ma ora il mio regno non è di qui. |
| 37 | Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. | Alors Pilate lui dit: es-tu donc Roi? Jésus répondit: tu le dis, que je suis Roi; je suis né pour cela, et c'est pour cela que je suis venu au monde, afin que je rende témoignage à la vérité; quiconque est de la vérité, entend ma voix. | Allora Pilato gli disse: Dunque sei tu re?. Gesù rispose: Tu dici giustamente che io sono re; per questo io sono nato e per questo sono venuto nel mondo: per rendere testimonianza alla verità; chiunque è per la verità ascolta la mia voce. |
| 38 | Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all. | Pilate lui dit: qu'est-ce que la vérité? Et quand il eut dit cela, il sortit encore vers les Juifs, et il leur dit: je ne trouve aucun crime en lui. | Pilato gli chiese: Che cosa è verità?. | 40 | Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber. | Et tous s'écrièrent encore, disant: non pas celui-ci, mais Barrabas; or Barrabas était un brigand. | Allora tutti di nuovo gridarono, dicendo: Non costui, ma Barabba. Or Barabba era un brigante. |
