| 3 | Or, la vie éternelle, c'est qu'ils vous connaissent, vous, le seul vrai Dieu, et celui que vous avez envoyé, Jésus-Christ. | And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, [even] Jesus Christ. |
| 4 | Je vous ai glorifié sur la terre, j'ai achevé l'oeuvre que vous m'avez donnée à faire. | I glorified thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do. |
| 5 | Et maintenant à vous, Père, glorifiez-moi auprès de vous, de la gloire que j'avais auprès de vous, avant que le monde fût. | And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. |
| 6 | J'ai manifesté votre nom aux hommes que vous m'avez donnés du milieu du monde. Ils étaient à vous, et vous me les avez donnés : et ils ont gardé votre parole. | I manifested thy name unto the men whom thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word. |
| 7 | Ils savent à présent que tout ce que vous m'avez donné vient de vous; | Now they know that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are from thee: |
| 8 | Car les paroles que vous m'avez données, je les leur ai données. Et ils les ont reçues, et ils ont vraiment reconnu que je suis sorti de vous, et ils ont cru que c'est vous qui m'avez envoyé. | for the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they received [them], and knew of a truth that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me. |
| 9 | C'est pour eux que je prie. Je ne prie pas pour le monde, mais pour ceux que vous m'avez donnés; parce qu'ils sont à vous. | I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine: |
| 10 | Car tout ce qui est à moi est à vous, et tout ce qui est à vous est à moi, et que je suis glorifié en eux. | and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them. |
| 11 | Je ne suis plus dans le monde. Pour eux, ils sont dans le monde, et moi, je vais à vous. Père saint, gardez dans votre nom ceux que vous m'avez donnés, afin qu'ils ne fassent qu'un, comme nous. | And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we [are]. |
| 12 | Lorsque j'étais avec eux, je les conservais dans votre nom. J'ai gardé ceux que vous m'avez donnés, et pas un d'eux ne s'est perdu, hormis le fils de perdition, afin que l'Ecriture fût accomplie. | While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. |
| 13 | Maintenant je vais à vous, et je fais cette prière pendant que je suis dans le monde, afin qu'ils aient en eux la plénitude de ma joie. | But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves. |
| 14 | Je leur ai donné votre parole, et le monde les a haïs, parce qu'ils ne sont pas du monde, comme moi-même je ne suis pas du monde. | I have given them thy word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. |
| 15 | Je ne vous demande pas de les ôter du monde, mais de les garder du mal. | I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil [one]. |
| 16 | Ils ne sont pas du monde, comme moi-même je ne suis pas du monde. | They are not of the world even as I am not of the world. |
| 17 | Sanctifiez-les dans la vérité. | Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth. |
| 18 | Comme vous m'avez envoyé dans le monde, je les ai aussi envoyés dans le monde. | As thou didst send me into the world, even so sent I them into the world. |
| 19 | Et je me sanctifie moi-même pour eux, afin qu'eux aussi soient sanctifiés en vérité. | And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. |
| 20 | Je ne prie pas pour eux seulement, mais aussi pour ceux qui, par leur prédication, croiront en moi, | Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word; |
| 21 | Pour que tous ils soient un, comme vous, mon Père, vous êtes en moi, et moi en vous, pour que, eux aussi, ils soient un en nous, afin que le monde croie que vous m'avez envoyé. | that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me. |
| 22 | Et je leur ai donné la gloire que vous m'avez donnée, afin qu'ils soient un, comme nous sommes un, moi en eux, et vous en moi, | And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we [are] one; |
| 23 | Afin qu'ils soient parfaitement un, et que le monde connaisse que vous m'avez envoyé, et que vous les avez aimés comme vous m'avez aimé. | I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me. |
| 24 | Père, ceux que vous m'avez donnés, je veux que là où je suis, ils y soient avec moi, afin qu'ils voient la gloire que vous m'avez donnée, parce que vous m'avez aimé avant la création du monde. | Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. |
| 25 | Père juste, le monde ne vous a pas connu, mais moi, je vous ai connu, et ceux-ci ont connu que c'est vous qui m'avez envoyé. | O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me; |
| 26 | Et je leur ai fait connaître votre nom, et je le leur ferai connaître, afin que l'amour dont vous m'avez aimé soit en eux, et que je sois moi aussi en eux." | and I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them. |
