| 19 | Et plusieurs d'entre les Juifs étaient venus auprès de Marthe et de Marie, pour les consoler au sujet de leur frère. | And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. | E molti Giudei erano venuti da Marta e Maria per consolarle del loro fratello. |
| 20 | Marthe donc, quand elle eut ouï dire que Jésus venait, alla au-devant de lui; mais Marie se tenait assise dans la maison. | Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house. | Marta dunque, come udì che Gesù veniva, gli andò incontro; Maria invece stava seduta in casa. |

| 25 | Jésus lui dit: Moi, je suis la résurrection et la vie: celui qui croit en moi, encore qu'il soit mort, vivra; | Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: | Gesù le disse: Io sono la risurrezione e la vita; chiunque crede in me, anche se dovesse morire, vivrà. |

| 36 | Les Juifs donc dirent: Voyez comme il l'affectionnait. | Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him! | Dissero allora i Giudei: Vedi come l'amava!. |
| 37 | Mais quelques-uns d'entre eux dirent: Celui-ci qui a ouvert les yeux de l'aveugle, n'aurait-il pas pu faire aussi que cet homme ne mourût pas? | And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? | Ma alcuni di loro dissero: Non poteva costui che aprì gli occhi al cieco, far sì che questi non morisse?. |
| 38 | Jésus donc, frémissant encore en lui-même, vient au sépulcre (or c'était une grotte, et il y avait une pierre dessus). | Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. | Perciò Gesù, fremendo di nuovo in se stesso, venne al sepolcro; or questo era una grotta davanti alla quale era stata posta una pietra. |

| 40 | Jésus lui dit: Ne t'ai-je pas dit que, si tu crois, tu verras la gloire de Dieu? | Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? | Gesù le disse: Non ti ho detto che se credi, vedrai la gloria di Dio?. |
| 41 | Ils ôtèrent donc la pierre. Et Jésus leva les yeux en haut et dit: Père, je te rends grâces de ce que tu m'as entendu. | Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. | Essi dunque tolsero la pietra dal luogo dove giaceva il morto. | 42 | Or moi je savais que tu m'entends toujours; mais je l'ai dit à cause de la foule qui est autour de moi, afin qu'ils croient que toi, tu m'as envoyé. | And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. | lo sapevo bene che tu mi esaudisci sempre, ma ho detto ciò per la folla che sta attorno, affinché credano che tu mi hai mandato. |

Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. | Allora il morto uscì, con le mani e i piedi legati con fasce e con la faccia avvolta in un asciugatoio. | 45 | Plusieurs donc d'entre les Juifs qui étaient venus auprès de Marie, et qui avaient vu ce que Jésus avait fait, crurent en lui; | Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him. | Allora molti dei Giudei, che erano venuti da Maria e avevano visto tutto quello che Gesù aveva fatto, credettero in lui. |

| 47 | Les principaux sacrificateurs et les pharisiens donc assemblèrent un sanhédrin, et dirent: Que faisons-nous? car cet homme fait beaucoup de miracles. | Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles. | Allora i capi dei sacerdoti e i farisei riunirono a il sinedrio e dicevano: Che facciamo? Quest'uomo fa molti segni. |
| 48 | Si nous le laissons ainsi faire, tous croiront en lui, et les Romains viendront, et ôteront et notre lieu et notre nation. | If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation. | Se lo lasciamo andare avanti così, tutti crederanno in lui, verranno i Romani e distruggeranno il nostro luogo e la nostra nazione. |

| 51 | Or il ne dit pas cela de lui-même; mais étant souverain sacrificateur cette année-là, il prophétisa que Jésus allait mourir pour la nation; | And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; | Or egli non disse questo da se stesso; ma, essendo sommo sacerdote in quell'anno, profetizzò che Gesù doveva morire per la nazione, |
| 52 | et non pas seulement pour la nation, mais aussi pour rassembler en un les enfants de Dieu dispersés. | And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad. | e non solo per la nazione, ma anche per raccogliere in uno i figli di Dio dispersi. |

| 54 | Jésus donc ne marcha plus ouvertement parmi les Juifs; mais il s'en alla de là dans la contrée qui est près du désert, en une ville appelée Éphraïm; et il séjourna là avec les disciples. | Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples. | Perciò Gesù non si aggirava più pubblicamente tra i Giudei, ma si ritirò nella regione vicina al deserto, in una città detta Efraim, e lì rimase con i suoi discepoli. |
